Who has a tattoo of their org.? Why? Would you? Would you not?

Hey, who has a tattoo of their org.? If you do not have one would you get one? Why-Why not? I want one but I have already so many, not of my frat. but of other things. If I did get my frat. tatted. I'd put it on my ankle or over my heart, like so many of my chapter and nation wide brothers.

I don't have a tatoo, because its against my religion.

AznSAE 04-14-2004 01:35 PM

I want a tattoo, but probably not of our letters. If and when I am getting one, it will be of our mascot or symbols.

GeekyPenguin 04-14-2004 01:38 PM

I wouldn't tattoo our letters or our crest or anything like, it tends to be frowned upon. I think I'd do one of our more symbolic things, like the Hebrew on our badge.

Lady Pi Phi 04-14-2004 01:47 PM

I have our flower, the wine carnation tattooed on the inside left ankle.

queequek 04-14-2004 01:52 PM

Yes, I have a tattoo of my GLO on my ankle. And I don't mind having another one of USMC.

valkyrie 04-14-2004 02:00 PM

I have two tattoos but neither of them have to do with Alpha Phi. I wouldn't get letters or a crest, but I'd consider something symbolic -- probably an ivy leaf.

Kevin 04-14-2004 02:03 PM

I don't like tatoos at all, so no, wouldn't ever get a tatoo of anything.

chideltjen 04-14-2004 02:10 PM

the only thing i would think of tattooing is a palm tree (our symbol). But other than that... i have one already. it's enough for now...

moe.ron 04-14-2004 02:11 PM

I don't like needles. So, it's out of the question.

sounds like a good idea having a badge tattoo.

KellyB369 04-14-2004 04:10 PM

I am pretty sure that Chi O national has stated somewhere that no one is to get a tattoo of the letters or crest. If I ever got one I think I'd get a small owl, but that is never going to happen...

Tom Earp 04-14-2004 04:10 PM

Garth, go Man, great Badge!!!!!!!!!!!!!!:D

Hell, one of these days, make a road trip to The Pitt, you and I and JohnnyB could really PARTE!:D

Oh, for Grins Dude, We and STG did Home Coming Float 2 years ago, not enuff Soros. What I gather since I could not make it down, Had a Blast!:D

Jill1228 04-14-2004 04:52 PM

I think tats are cool but...

Nope...I do NOT like needles!

adpiucf 04-14-2004 05:46 PM

I don't think tattoos are ladylike, so I would not get a tattoo of anything, much less anything sorority related. Others might disagree with me, and I encourage you to do what is right for you, but that's my personal reason for not tattooing myself.

sairose 04-14-2004 06:01 PM

I don't like tattoos, and if I did I would never get our letters or crest. A small red rose would be okay, or just the pan pipes...but never the letters or crest.

all i could think of when i read this is "does that mean i would have to wear badge attire ALL the time?"
seriously, we're supposed to be dressed (at min, no jeans/sweats) when wearing badges. now if you had a tatoo of a badge, does that mean badge attire constantly??

i think i'm getting another tattoo of doplins....but i wanted a dolphin tattoo WAAAAAAAAAAAY before we even bacame tri delta. i'm talking high school...i have to wait at least another year before my next tattoo though...altough, maybe a trident. that could be cool...hmmm...

phamason2003 04-14-2004 06:58 PM

Why do people feel getting...

Why do people feel getting their org. tatted on them is wrong?

tunatartare 04-14-2004 07:25 PM

If you have a tatoo of something like your letters or your crest, especially in a visible place, then you're wearing letters 24/7 and anything that you do could reflect back on the organization.

lilDZCarol 04-14-2004 07:56 PM

I have sisters that have things associated with DZ tattooed on them but I would not personally do it for a long time. One of my sisters has a gorgious Delta and a Zeta on her lowe back with roses and vines around it, its really really nice but the sister she went to get it with disaffiliated that summer. Another one of my sisters has her pledge class turtle which is holding the kilarney rose on her lower back and its so cute. These are in places that you can't see them all the time and I think that is where they should be. If I ever personally got anything tho to do with my sorority I would get a little turtle on my ankle because I actually want a turtle tattoo and it would mean something to me since it is my sorority animal and oh so cute. That won't be for a long time tho, just got my first tattoo on Valentine's Day and no more for a while.

I have 2 tattoos... both really small and easy to cover up. One is a butterfly on my left shoulderblade, and the other is a sun (one of our symbols) with a Xi in the middle (our pledge class). I didn't get our letters because we were founded to affiliate with a national, which means our letters aren't permanent.I love my tattoos, but I wouldn't get one where it couldn't be covered up.

SLUadpi 04-14-2004 09:14 PM

one of our advisors has a real cute "pi" symbol on her lower back.

ASTLuv21 04-14-2004 09:22 PM

I personally wouldn't get a tattoo associated with my sorority. I want one and already know what I want (A J w/a fairy sitting in the J on my right hip) but I don't think I would want a anchor...yellow rose is cool but if I was to get a rose, it be blue...

I know a few GPhiB's last semester went and got tattoo's together. Some got Terry Bears and some didn't get sorority related tattoos. A friend of mine who is an SAE got the phonix of SAE.

gphib_95 04-14-2004 10:06 PM

I have a small tattoo, under my ankle on my left foot, of our symbol, a crescent moon, and our flower,a pink carnation.

PlymouthDZ 04-14-2004 10:23 PM

I would.

I have mine planned for this summer actually. I'm getting a turtle, but outlines only (kind of tribal-ish, but in green instead of black) with a hibiscus flower (my pledge class) in pink on the shell

(instead of naming our pledge classes with Greek letters, the class names themselves with a representational word).

I want to get a small Delta and Zeta on it too.

This will be in a semi-hidden location also. (only visable if I show you)

I already have tattoos, and I plan on getting a few more. All but one of mine is hidden.

I have a fear of needles, yet, I love tats and piercings.. odd :D

Ann Marie, we are going to get along so well when you move down here! :)

azdtaxi 04-14-2004 11:36 PM

A few of my sisters have them but I will always love AZD but tatoos are so permanat and they hurt

ADPiZXalum 04-15-2004 12:00 AM

The only ADPi related thing I'd get as a tattoo would be an alumnae symbol we have.......it's a diamond with the letter pi in the middle. Many girls from my chapter got it, and my faveorite spot was on the inside of the ankle. I think I would really hate it later on though so maybe I won't.

KSUViolet06 04-15-2004 12:17 AM

I don't think so, I don't like tattoos. :)

Sister Havana 04-15-2004 12:32 AM

Nope. I hate needles and for that reason I will never get a tattoo.

TN-TX ADPi 04-15-2004 12:43 AM

I have a tremendous fear of needles, but got a tattoo when I was 18. It didn't hurt a bit, and in fact, it has helped me overcome my fear. I got a violet on my lower abdomen my senior year of high school- i love violets! Then wouldn't you know, I joined ADPi!!! I just think it's kinda cool that I got mine before I had ever heard of ADPi, and that is our flower. If I ever get another one (BIG IF) it would be a small diamond with the pi symbol in the middle- also well hidden.

Adelphean1851 04-15-2004 12:56 AM

I just recently got a tattoo for ADPi. It is Kanji of our open motto surrounded by woodland violets between my shoulderbaldes. It's pretty big but I like that it's descreet as far as the design goes. It was my fourth tattoo.

H0neymoon 04-15-2004 04:02 AM

I definitly would! Maybe the letters or a slogan or saying on my inner wrist. I think tattoos on girls can be really sexy if they are the right kind of design and size. I have a fairy on my lower back which I love.

I don't have any tattoos. In college, I toyed with the idea of getting a turtle or rose tattoo, but eventually opted not to do it. All I could think of was how it would look when I got older. Yuck!

kayla0deegee 04-15-2004 01:29 PM

I have two tattoos but i have a turquoise anchor on my right foot. Its small but I love it. But the anchor also means hope, so not only does it represent DG but also HOPE. Thats why I chose it. But i wont lie i often get people asking me if i was a marine haha!!!

KappaKittyCat 04-15-2004 01:34 PM

I have our pledge pin and letters on the inside of my left ankle. There's a picture in the Kappa forum. I've been considering another one: an iris in front of a fleur-de-lis (our flower and its earthly representation), that would go on the inside of my other ankle. I'm not sure, though.

XOMichelle 04-15-2004 01:39 PM

I'm way to afraid to get a tattoo. I'm sure I would hate it after 10 years and then I wouldn't be able to get rid of it. Although I saw an older alum who had a the letters below her ankle on the side of her foot. You could barely see them because the skin had grown over it.
