Need advice
 

Okay so my finace and I are "engaged" but we never acutally asked each other to marry each other...Our 4 year anniversary is coming up in 2 weeks and I thought, I would acutally ask him to marry me...I already have a ring and all...But I really want to ask him to marry me...Anyone have any clever and cute ideas???

awww no i think thats way cute- besides you obviously love him enough to say that you want to spend the rest of your lives together- thast great! im really happy for you- now with that out of the way- did you ever see the friends where phoebe proposes to (i cant think of his name- the paul rudd character) and they get it all wrong?? its a really funny episode- but ayway- i think that you should do it any way you see fit- it depends on your guys' sense of humour- if your asking for funny/cute ideas- it seems like your open to fun ways- like phoebe asking on teh jumbotron during a knicks game- during a sports event- or i LOVEEEE the way that julia roberts gets proposed to in STEPMOM (sooo cute) or you could ask him sincerely during dinner..... or there is always skywriting or fly up in a hot air balloon- or on vacation... hmm many possibilities... but i wish you the best!!!

Ok not to be delberately rude... but asking someone to get engaged to you IS asking them to marry you? :p Moving on... sure, press the question since he (I assume from your reticence it was he who proposed originally) is dragging his heels.

Well, we never said "would you marry me..." we just sort of told everyone we were engaged...like it was no big deal...but to me (and call me old fashion) but I like the whole idea of getting down on one knee and saying would you spend the rest of your life with me scenario...Though your idea is def...a great idea...though i still like the idea of Julia Roberts....Thanks

Like I already said..we sort of just told everyone...but we never did it in a formal way...which is sort of what I am wanting to do. Thanks for the question though

Okay..Now that I have pretty much answered all questions and have been talking to all my already engaged/married friends...I think I have come up with the idea......

Because tommorrow my parents and his are taking us out for dinner, I am going to do it on the way to the restaurant after I get out of work (subing near the house..yeah)...I know the radio disc jockey who can do it over the air tommorrow when we are in the car...Since we both know this guy, I know he will help....Ill let you all know on Tuesday since thats the next time I will have access to the web...wish me luck...

If a girl asked any decent guy I know to marry him . . . he would thinks he was desperate and feel smothered and skeeved out.

Even if they felt pressured to say yes, I say pressured because if he wanted to amrry you of his own free will he would have asked, it will make him resent you.

So up to you what you want to do . . but honestly stop trying to force him, its just plain wrong.

Well...I asked him, I took him out did the whole dinner thing, He got really red, and sort of was like "oh my god what is she doing?" But he said: "I thought we were already going to get married? But yes I would love to marry you." We set a date. It is going to be October 15, 2005. Yeah, its now official...Hmmm, time to start planning..:)

Thanks everyone for all of your advice. Jeff and I appreciate it very much. We had a great night last night with all of the Tornadoes happening in the Chicago Area. No Sleep for us..Boo Hoo!!! Its okay thats what the weekends are for. ;)

So Jeff and I went to Ohio this past weekend to tell his grandparents. They were def. not supportive. they think I am too young and not a good match for him. And they think he got me knocked up and that is why we are getting married. I thought they needed to mind there own business and just say congrats, but Jeff said they were not going to and that I needed to keep quite when I saw them. I did and that Im so happy its over now.

I am guessing that is a completement? LOL...yeah I can put an messed up weekend into one quick and to the point paragraph. Wish I could do that with the rest of my life.
