ZTA Stuff on EBAY

*edited as a completely different entry

Laides...

I was on E-Bay and have decided to start this as a place where we can announce things that we find on e-bay that ONLY ZTA members should be able to have.

I have already found two...

NM PIN AND BADGE
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...906803150&rd=1

CREST PENDANT
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...906464253&rd=1

Keep us posted if you buy the items... I'd hate to see this stuff go to the wrong hands!

Jenny,
Thank you for doing this. I am a seller/buyer on ebay and any time I have an auction for my shirts or any other zeta materials...I verify that the high bidder is a Zeta. And I would NEVER sell anything such as a badge or crest. Anyhow..thanks for being such a sweet and protective Zeta!

:D

I won this one after he lowered the price. It is from the 1920's and should arrive any day.

I also bought one that has a Gamma Phi guard. It is dated 1954 and was owned by one of the first pledges at North Texas.

I finally got both badges!! The Gamma Phi chapter badge is amazing. It is white gold with pearls and 4 diamonds on the points. The owner also agreed to sell me her pledge pin which I now have. That brings my total "collection" to 16. I'll be bringing them to Convention along with some other goodies.

Found a couple badges...

Here's one...has lots of opals and is absolutely gorgeous.

Here's another, with opals and rubies.

Yet another one.

radioZTA 07-04-2004 06:05 PM

Yes, there are many badges for sale right now. Probably because there are a handful of Zeta Ebayers that bid against each other and on top of other Zetas, driving up the prices and thereby creating a bigger market for the very badges they are supposedly trying to save.

Just my $.02.

ms_gwyn 07-12-2004 08:24 PM

hello zeta ladies

another badge very low price

ZTA1806 07-15-2004 09:55 AM

A seller called "americanaquarium" just listed a pearl badge and chapter guard for $105.00.

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...921429469&rd=1

He had responded to me via e-mail for a post I had listed on an "orphan jewelry" site looking for badges. I made him an offer for this same badge, but I am guessing he is too greedy and so instead of ever responding to my e-mails, he listed it on e-bay for way too much money.

If anyone ever trys to buy from him, watch out. He seems a little slick to me.

He has another badge with pearls and emeralds (6, on the points) that he has not listed yet or replied to my e-mails for. I made him 2 offers on this.

Yet another pin on eBay

Found some more badges today. It looks like radiozta is in the lead on one of them. :)

Pearl Badge

Pledge Pin

Ruby Badge

EtaPhiZTA 07-20-2004 01:18 PM

I went back and checked the ebay names thread and saw that apd1806 is also a ZTA, and she is currently winning the pledge pin and ruby badge auctions. Let's hope all three of these ZTA items find their way to Zetas! ZLAM, Courtney

ZTA1806 07-20-2004 01:58 PM

I'll second that! Especially that ruby badge to me ;). It looks very cool, and I don't think I've seen one in white gold before.
I just increased my bid, but will probably wait until the collectors have chimed in before doing that again.

But besides the badges, e-bay has been a really fantastic way for me to obtain pieces of ZTA history that I really enjoy, such as 1st editions for both volumes of ZTA history. Hopefully, I will be able to share these things with a daughter someday, after she pledges ZTA of course.

suziesuesue 07-20-2004 03:09 PM

Can y'all clarify and tell me if it is inappropriate for me to bid on an item if a Zeta is already winning? I too really love the white gold and ruby pin, but do not want to hurt anyone's feelings.

Also, I am trying to locate an Opal pin. I have transferred and am Affliating this fall with the North Texas Gamma Phi chapter. I am hoping to find a new pin to wear with this new chapter. Thanks for anyone's help!!!

ZTA1806 07-20-2004 03:24 PM

I sent you a PM about the current badge in question, but to address it in general...

I personally try to not outbid my sisters, unless it is an item I very much want in my heart and am willing to pay ($$$) for. Otherwise, I try to hold back. I only just learned that I could contact IO and ask about the badges they have for sale. Before that, I had bid a lot on a sapphire and gold badge, failed to win, but still, I know I was bidding against sisters.

To me, this is a question that each person can really only answer. What type of person are you (I mean you generally, not you specifically)? Are you out to win everything at all costs, and don't mind who gets stepped on? Or is it a case of you being someone willing to step aside for another's sake, and you are just bidding up a specific item because you truly want it? The first person is someone I would feel badly for, that maybe they cannot appreciate the bonds of sisterhood. The second is someone I would be happy to call my sister, knowing that we would each put the other first whenever we could, but still able to tell the other when something is important to one.

I know this does not really answer your question, but it was the best I could do.

suziesuesue 07-20-2004 05:33 PM

Does anyone know what pins you can buy from IO? What stones you can still order from IO? Please let me know as soon as y'all can!

ZTA1806 07-21-2004 09:17 AM

My understanding is that IO has many different badges, inventory is based on what they receive, either from estates, sisters have a bunch and don't want them, or whatever. They find their way to IO, and IO sells them at a good price to sisters. You would have to call to find out what they have now. I only just learned about it myself, so I plan to call IO and see what they have as well. I still want a sapphire one, and I hear that the prices are better than on e-bay.

That second one is amazing! I hope that a ZTA ends up with it! :)

ZTAngel 07-26-2004 11:37 AM

OH.MY.GOD.

The second one is amazing! Thankfully, zta1806 has it right now.

I'll keep my eye on it in case a non-ZTA bids on it. I'm just kind of poor since I'm already bidding on a Burberry scarf (PLEASE let me get it!!!).

ZTA1806 07-26-2004 09:42 PM

I hope I get it too. I can only pray that at the ending of the auction, my 2year old niece does not have a fit getting to bed. She really likes her "Auntie" to take care of her when we are on vacation.

Fingers Crossed! :D

Dear Zeta sisters,

There is currently a badge on ebay that I am going to purchase as a gift for a dear friend. I have been looking for one of these badges for many, many years since it is her birthstone. I just wanted to let you know that this is quite a different case from my usual procedure of bidding just to see if I can snag it to "rescue" it.

I rarely bid against a sister (if I am aware that it is a sister) and I am sincerely hoping that this won't be the exception to my own rule but I will apologize in advance if that is the case.

ZL,

That's a beautiful badge! I hope you win it to give to your friend!

Good Luck!

Yes, I have. I still feel guilty about something that might not even happen but Cindy is worth it. She saw what I was doing for her and is crossing her fingers.

She will be moving to Colorado to join her husband as soon as she can sell her house here and pack up. I met her when she moved to Dallas from Memphis a few years ago and we instantly clicked. She has given a lot to the Dallas Night chapter and everyone is going to miss her. On the bright side, we'll get to visit her in Telluride. We're already planning a Zetas Only weekend getaway to see her.

ZTA1806 11-01-2004 06:26 PM

That's my birthstone, too. It will be very good to see that Cindy gets this badge. It truly is beautiful. I will keep my fingers crossed for you.

radioZTA 11-01-2004 07:28 PM

Thanks!

Purple is my favorite color even if amethyst is not my birthstone. I would have bid on it for myself if Cindy didn't want it. I may just take one of my pearl ones and have amethysts put in instead. (I have a white gold with pearls that is missing a pearl and needs cleaning so that is a good candidate.) I suggested that to her, since she has also bought a couple of badges off of Ebay, but she said it would be more fun to "rescue" it.

From what I can tell, MaryMag123 is a Gamma Phi Beta and/or pin collector. KSP2774 is on the list of Zeta bidders though.

wrigley 11-01-2004 11:35 PM

Here's a badge on that is attached to a metal disk.

3 pins on ebay

Hello!

I wanted to give yall the heads up! There is a seller who is currently selling 3 different ZTA badges that are "new in box" with papers from Masters of Design. I find it really odd that they are all new, so I wanted to alert ya'll:

http://search.ebay.com/_W0QQgotopage...sortpropertyZ1

radioZTA 01-03-2005 05:02 PM

I, too, thought selling 3 new badges was strange.

I put bids on all three but have already been outbid on one by a Zeta mom and by a Zeta on another one (tacky).

PenguinTrax 01-03-2005 08:50 PM

Hey y'all -

I've got a bunch of ZTA and Strawberry Theme jewelry in my eBay store that I'd really like to get sell and reduce my inventory. I"ll give free shipping to GC members - just give me your username when you purchase and I'll send you an amended invoice.

Link is in my sig...

ZTASmash 01-05-2005 08:52 PM

I am in love with that crown ring! I believe I get paid on Friday, hopefully it doesn't sell by then!

Here's a nice ZTA pin on Ebay:

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...950525211&rd=1

The high bidder is go127. I think go127 is a ZTA because the other purchases made have been ZTA stuff. Anyone know for sure?

The other ZTA pins on ebay are being bid on by radiozta and californiamom24 who are ZTAs. :)

texas*princess 03-16-2005 02:58 PM

this is random, but I just wanted to say what a beautiful pin you ladies have! I'm a regular ebay surfer, and I regularly see many ZTA pins that are all gorgeous!

blueangel 03-16-2005 03:08 PM

Just a quick note on badges and jewelry. The official jeweler has been changed as of January 2005 from Masters of Design to Burr, Paterson, and Auld. And.. badge prices have gone up on most of the jeweled pins.
