Orange County/Los Angeles Area GC Gathering
 

Actually..........

Since there are so many GCers in OC that want to go to the San Diego gatherings but can't make it in time, I wondered why you all don't have another one of your own?

So what say you?

The first GC gathering I went to was the Disneyland/Downtown Disneyland get-together in Anaheim (I used to live in Long Beach). I believe that OC gathering #2 was at Downtown Disney as well.

Let me know if you all want to do something nearer to you!

Ahhhh.....I don't really understand what's to "organize". :confused:

People generally post saying what days they're available and suggest locations. Then eventually someone will pipe up with "looks like everyone is good for Friday at such and such place" and everyone responds with "yes I will be there". :)

I was sort of just throwing the idea out for all of the people in OC and LA who PM me wanting to go to the San Diego gatherings. If someone wants to take this and run with it. Go for it! If people want to do it, but want me to "arrange" it, that's ok too!

What about you arrange this one? There's always Downtown Disney again - as a huge Disney fan I'm always for that. Or what about moving it up towards LA a little more this time. We've never had a gathering truly in Los Angeles County.

I'm pretty much up for anything even the most evil place in the world (ie Disneyland :p ). I dont do the OC very much Anahiem is as far as I will go, me and the OC don't get along very well, to much drama to go into :rolleyes:

But give me a time and a place and if I can get the time off I'll be there. The LBC may be a good midway point for the OC and LA crowd?

Kelly, you're so smart. I'm up for it, but sometime in May would probably be best for me. Anywhere in OC or LA is fine with me- it's about an hour drive to either from where I live. Friday or Saturday nights are the best for me, as usual.

Acapulco restaurant in San Pedro at Ports O'Call (near the cruise terminals) right off of the 110 freeway

Yard House in Long Beach at Shoreline Village

Dave and Busters at the Block at Orange,

Downtown Disney (our old standby)

Universal City Walk (haven't been there in years someone needs to suggest a place)

And for those who can afford it and have a weekend day free maybe we can go to Catalina for the day.

June 5th is a bad day for me but I think every other weekend until the end of July is good.

I would suggest one of the two above as they are just slightly more central locations. That way we can accomodate people from OC, LA *and* Riverside Co.

I've never been to Ports O'Call, but I have eaten at Acapulco restaurants before. :) It's usually a pretty safe bet.

The Yard House in Long Beach is located in Shoreline Village near the trendy Pine Ave.
My old roommate used to work there, but I've only eaten there once. I recall that the food was fairly reasonably priced and was tasty. Of course, for the drinkers, they have some 250 beers on tap.

I'm available any night but Tuesday and Thursday nights. As for actual dates, I could go anytime between now and June 15. Since May 28-31 is Memorial Day weekend, I would suggest possibly Wednesday, June 2nd or Friday, June 4th at 7:00pm or so.

Holt?!?! HAHAHA!! Yeah for real, me and bobby are initiates of the ulcer club due to our hard drinking...I'm down though..

I'm game but unfortunately due to the lovely quarter system, I will not be done until June 11th. June's going to be a crazy month for me so I can do June 14-21st and then I won't be around until the 28th (two days before my birthday in case anyone was counting ;)).

Okay it looks like the Yardhouse or Acapulco in San Pedro at Ports O'Call are the two choices here.

If it's going to be a large group I'm thinking that Acapulco would be able to accomodate us more then the Yardhouse (we've had trouble with the yardhouse and large groups). Also, it doesn't matter the age of everyone that is going. If I remember correctly after a certain time the Yardhouse cards people.

Is it better for everyone to do it on a weeknight or a weekend evening?

Since we're all coming from so many different areas of so cal I think a weekend event would be better. That way people won't have to worry about as much traffic as a week night.

No dates chosen yet. I'm with you regarding weekend dates.

Here are suggested dates - say yea or nay if they're good and we'll see what the majority says. I'm basing these dates upon the dates I have free in June.

so not meaning to jump into your conversation, but me and a few other sigma kappas may be in the OC that weekend ... we have an alumni that lives in santa monica, so we'd be more than willing to drink some beer & meet all of yous too :)

I know there's a group to go on June 5th but I can't make it after all. Just got a call that one of my sisters is getting married that day. For those who can meet this weekend, have fun and let us know how it went. Try to take pictures and post them if possible.

I wish I could make it, but I'm housesitting starting the 25th of June, and I don't *know* what the person I'm housesitting for expects me to do yet....I don't know how centralized I'll need to be....I'm all for meeting up with some of the OC/LA/Riverside GCers, since you all seem so much fun! :)

Any chance that instead of June 26th, we could do sometime early July? I really would love to meet y'all but its beginning to look like I wont be able to make it on anytime the end of June.

Sorry, I don't think I can do any of the days except for Sunday, June 13th. :( I'll be out of town for the last two weeks of June. If not the 13th, then I suppose it would have to be July sometime.

Any of those dates sound great to me, but I'm more partial to July 10 right now (since it's after 4th of July weekend). I'd be up for trying to plan something in the OC/LA area, esp. since I'm living a lot closer now in San Dimas.

And Bobby, you suck for not calling me to tell me about the Yardhouse thing- I so would have gone, but couldn't check GC at the time... :rolleyes:

July 10th and 11th work for me. I'll be in vegas 4th of July weekend :cool: and will be leaving for the east coast on July 21st.

Me too, I can meet up on either of those days.
