Okay girls The Bachelor is about to start up on Wednesday. So I figured it was about time to start a thread.

Unfortunately ABC.com doesn't have the pictures of the new Bachelorettes up yet. It's kind of fun to guess ahead of time who he is gonna choose just by reading their bio's.

So, who thinks this Bachelor pairing will last or not?

Unfortunately odds are against him, considering the other FOUR Bachelors and their repsective choices broke up (but I'm seriously hoping for an Andrew & Jennifer reconcilation).

I didn't realize that it was starting so soon! I don't know if it will last, but I have to say what I've said before -- I think it is beyond lame that they picked someone who is relatively rich and famous to be the bachelor -- the bachelor should be a more "average" person. Dude, if you're a professional football player, do you really need to go on tv to find a woman? Only if there's something really wrong with you.

I'm so glad they're going to show it here in Germany! He's HOT!

BTW: ASUADPi, I heard that they did get back together. I believe it was on the cover of a magazine the other day at the store. I'll have to check!

I saw the previews on tv the other day. He IS HOT!!!

You know what, I actually read an article from US Magazine but it hasn't been 'confirmed' by either camps. Out of any of the couples I really wanted/want Jenn and Andrew to succeed. So I will continue to keep my fingers crossed.

I am really excited for this season to start! I haven't watched the Bachelor all that religiously since Aaron was on and it took me awhile to get over him. :p But this new guy is hot hot hot, so I'll definately be watching! :D

It's about effing time that we have a Bachelor worth looking at! The fact that he's a QB already stirs the jones in my bones.

Wait, wait wait...JP is NOT "hot." In fact, people used to rag on him all the time cause his eyes look like he's always high. And for those of you who dont like cocky men, you'll hate him. He was notorious for going in to bars and smacking girls on the ass whom he didnt know. Believe me, he got many pitchers of beer poured on him even after a gameday win.

All I know is that I don't know the man so I'm not about to pass judgement on him.

Plus, what does this judgement on him have to do with the show. In my eyes, not a whole hell of a lot.

Well, on the bachelor the guys are always nice..... JP isnt. He calls/ed women "whores" when referring to them. I think it'll be funny to see him act all nice when I know how he really is. And to be honest, he's definitely not doing this to find a wife/GF. He's doing this to get his foot in the door to entertainment/media. His football career is going down the shitter and he's too stupid to do anything else other than sports or acting.

I don't know if you are a girl or a guy but you sound jealous. When you start talking shit about someone you have never met, it's about jealousy.

And btw, how do you know he's not going to find his wife or girlfriend on this show? I don't want to sound like a bitch but can you see the future? Do you know what happens?

I didn't start this thread so that you could talk smack about someone. I started it so that people could talk about the show.

Honestly, I hate this show. I watched the very first one because I thought it would be good but all I could think was "you're attractive, you've got a good job, you seem nice...what's wrong with you?!"

LOL. I totally thought the same thing. But it's so sad, I'm so addicted. I don't know. Maybe it's watching the women. Like last season with Bob, I seriously laughing when the women were all bawling their eyes out because they had to pick who they thought was the 'most compatible' and 'least compatible' with Bob. I was like "Please", but I kept watching. I'm such a dork. But I totally get where you're coming from.

I don't know but what the hell does that have to do with your opinion vs mine?

Quick flash back: First off, I started a thread about him being the new bachelor before it even came out in public...do a search of my posts. 2ndly, I do know him. I've met him several times. I don't know him really well and we're not friends, but we've partied together back in Gainesville. He was the going out QB as a close friend of mine was the coming in QB. Some of my close friends still talk to him this day, thats how i found out it was goign to be him as the new bachelor. 3rdly, I was dating a girl who worked at a bar where he smacked her on the ass and got kicked out, he did it all the time to chicks there. And believe me, I'm definitely not Jealous of JP by any means. He was a sh*tty QB at UF and a sh*tty QB at NY....hence the reason why he's trying to break onto the big screen with the bachelor. If there was any QB to be jealous of at UF....I'd say either Doug (Johnson) or Rex ( Grossman).

And if you havent figured out by now that the bachelor series is a joke, you're just like the girls who go on the show themselves.

That may explain why none of the relationships from there have lasted. :rolleyes:

I don't get it. With a track record like that, why would women keep signing up. You end up looking like a charater ABC creates that is possibly not like you and you get a month or so to meet your husband... only to be dumped immediately after the show ends.

Talk about glutton for punishment.

To get noticed on TV and hopefully start a career in the industry.

Some of y'all are just plain over sensitive. I could give two ishts about whether or not he's cocky or rude or if he looks high all the time. I'm never meeting the guy, I just like the fact that FINALLY ABC decided to put someone worth looking at.

I'd take my QB over that guy any day, anyway.

I was in Gainesville during the whole time Palmer was there. I've met him a couple times. Since the announcement was made that he would be the next Bachelor, my friends and I have been talking about it and laughing our tails off.

Yes, the boy is F-I-N-E. He was even better looking, IMO, when he was at UF. And TV doesn't do him justice. He's way hotter in person.

However...

Personality, is, ummm, a tad lacking. Not the sharpest knife in the drawer. I never saw any direct evidence that the guy was a tool but he certainly made his rounds at the bar scene. (he really should have paid rent at The Swamp, he was there so much!) Since we've all been talking about him again, I'm hearing new stories.

One of my good friends knew a girl he dated, and hung out with him a lot. She says he's as dumb as a box of rocks, he always tried to act like a big player, but would screw it up. "The boy's got NO game" is what she called it. Again, I don't have any firsthand knowledge about him being an a**hole but he definitely was no saint. But hey, who is in college, right? ;)

And maybe he's changed. Of course, it's been just a few years. Hmmm. And I'm sure that being in the NFL and suddenly getting millions of $ is just such a character building experience. I bet he's just the most enlightened young gentleman now.

I still cannot believe that idiot messed up the girl's name. I called a friend who's still in Gainesville and we were laughing so hard we almost cried. Trust me, people, I would bet that Palmer is going to give us lots of great moments like this.

Okay I think I am going to love this season of the bachelor far better than I loved the other ones for these few reasons: (spoilerish if you haven't watched the episode already)

1) The spy
I seriously thought I had it figured out. I had originally narrowed my choices down to Holly, Karen, Dolores, Mandy C, and Julie. And this was because when they showed the 'spy' earlier in the episode she obviously has brownish hair. So obviously any of the blondes were immediately out of the running to be the spy. But then after the rose ceremony, I changed to Trish, Karen, Dolores, Mandy C and Julie. After seeing the previews for the season I can pretty much knock Trish and Karen out of the running for being the spy (mainly because you see Trish in the scene where the girl is revealing herself, like you see Trish's reaction. And with Karen you see her sitting on a chair by herself and it looks like she is about to cry over Jesse). So I now think the spy is Dolores, Mandy C or Julie. Watch me be totally wrong too. :)

2) The stalker
I think I'm looking more forward to finding out who the stalker is than who the spy is.

3) The rose ceremony's
If the others are anything like tonights, man I can't wait. I seriously cannot believe that he mixed up Katie and Karen's names. But I thought it was only decent that he gave Katie the option of staying or not. Did anyone else notice that before he gave her the option of staying that she was walking back over to him to give him back the rose? I kind of think that shows a bit of class on her part. I liked how she chose to stay though. I kind of hope that she ends up getting another rose because it just proves that you need to get to know someone better.

All in all I really enjoyed tonight's Bachelor. The woman seem to be good catches. Although I don't think anyone could beat out LeAnn (Bachelor Bob) for bitchiest (did I spell that right?) woman but it looks like (based on the previews which of course are going to show the drama, drama, drama) that Trish might be a close second to LeAnn.

Thoughts?

I, too was trying to figure out who the spy was....I originally thought it was Holly, but since she didn't get a rose, I'm now looking at Jean Marie (Dolores can't be the spy since she didn't get a rose). I also don't think it's Mandy C with them showing so much of her conversation with Jesse. Who knows, maybe they've thrown a brunette wig on the spy to throw us all off and it really is "one of the blondes" :)

I'm kinda frightened by the stalker....she might outlive LeeAnn in notoriety of Bachelorettes (whoever the stalker may be)!

Trish is going to be the one everyone hates, and she's going to wind up making it pretty far....but I don't see her making it all the way, after Jesse hears from the spy what all has been talked about in the house.

All in all, this season looks interesting, to say the least :cool:

well, julie isnt the spy - she is actually a cheerleader for the 49ers, which means she can't be living in nyc.

i suspect jean marie too.

i guess we'll see when he starts making out with everyone.

Newsflash:

The Giants are looking for a new quarterback anyway.

Sorry, guys...it ain't Jean Marie! I just finished watching it (again, we get it later here) and I think that Trish is the Spy! It makes total sense!

1. Her dress matches the one that the 'spy' was wearing. Jean Marie's was long, but her's was showing leg.

2. The 'first impression rose' is new, and giving it to the spy she is able to gauge everyone else's reaction about it.

3. They show previews about when it's revealed, and they are all shocked. Double shock with a spy, and it being Trish!

Those are my thoughts anyway...just watched the previews, and now I'm not sure! Now I think it's Jean MArie! Can't wait to see how this goes!

I have to go with Cashmoney on this. I flipped into this show and saw the last of the rose ceremony. That was all it took.

PUH-LEEZE..Yeah, he was so enamored of Karen he couldn't remember her NAME!!! All the others-No problemo. But the one he "couldn't let slip away"???:rolleyes:

So-yes he is good looking...even though he has an ape forehead...but he's either scripting or STUPID!

That is why I totally thought it was Holly at first because they (ABC) blacked out her head but not her dress. So we know that she was wearing a black strapless. The only two women wearing black strapless were Trish and Holly.

I never thought about how giving the 'first impression' rose would work, but I think you are right. Giving it to the spy would be great. But the way Trish was reacting, I just don't know. I understand that the spy has to 'role play' but she doesn't have to be a brat about getting the rose.

I really can't wait to find out who is the spy.

As for the stalker, now that I do think about it I have to agree with ariesrising, I think it is staged. I say this because I can't see ABC allowing a woman who was dumped to somehow get back to the mansion. I'm sure they (ABC) put the girls up in a hotel of some sorts until taping is over so that no one will get the idea who who the final woman is, but security for the show is probably so tight (paparazzi and stuff) that it makes me wonder how she makes it past security and to the house.

I normally don't like watching the abchelor because the women are insane. I mean, you're balling your eyes for some guy that you barely know because you didn't get a rose.

But I might actually catch this one. It sounds like it's more fun and that the producers of the show aren't taking it too seriously. The bachelor probably isn't taking it to seriously either.

you all think too much. the stalker passes security because she didnt get a rose that night, so instead of getting into the limo, she goes and fight :D . i think the stalker is trish because the silohuette shows a tall girl with short hair behind a door about to walk in.

i am rooting for the soccer girl, she's HOT

For those guessing the spy, did any of you think she could have dyed her hair blonde for the show?;)

See, I kind of think the stalker is Trish too! I'm so confused.

And, I wasn't going by the hair of the spy, just what she was wearing. They've even altered her voice. It will show here again in an hour, I'm gonna watch it even closer. From the body type, I don't know if it's Trish.

OH, BTW, some of these girls are scary! One of them...the swimmer...looks like a man!

I think the chick from Ft. Lauderdale is the spy. My main reason is, I doubt he's made his best "girl" friend while living in NY. My guess is that it had to be some girl from Florida that he met at college......And the fact that he gave her the impression rose first without even really talking to her....It made me think.



OR....he could just be a sucker for chicks with long legs and, as she put it, can't wait to get them wrapped around him.

I have to agree. I think you may be right about Trish being the spy (she's the model from Ft. Lauderdale).

I also have to agree with your earlier comment about the girl dying her hair, I can totally see that happening in an effort to keep the audience completely confused on who the spy is.

i could have sworn i saw the two kissing and he giving her presents in future previews. if thats the case, then trish could surely NOT be the spy. thats why i think she is the stalker instead. when the spy tells jesse about her sleeping with married men and her gold digging ways, she gets mad for not getting a rose and has to stalk :D

this is probabaly going to be the one and only episode i get to watch because i get in really late on wednesdays.

You're right AznSAE! I'm watching the show again, and the montage of previews at the beginning has him muggin' down with Trish. So, in case he lost his best friend (married to the spy!) Then it ain't her! That would have been really good though!

Is it just me or does the desperation some of these girls have sickening? He barely had a few of trhose girls names out of his mouth and they're like "I accept" ! Damn, play it cool even if your heart is beating right out of your chest and you're on cloud nine. Another thing I loathe on all these shows is how after being given the boot they do a total breakdown with tears and mascara everywhere. You barely knew him and you knew you weren't the only girl there. Also, don't think of him as your boyfriend. One girl commented last night how hard it is to see her boyfriend with someone else. You are a CONTESTANT!!! get that through your skull and overcome that desperation and you may find the man of your dreams may be closer than you realize.

This is how I eliminated Trish as the spy, as well. She's shown in the previews talking about sleeping with a married man, which the spy then tells Jesse about and how she couldn't remain his friend if he wound up picking her...which is why I see her going far, but not all the way (and it does make sense for her being the *stalker*)

In regards to the spy being a friend from FL, that makes sense, but she is married to another of his friends that I'm guessing (key word there) lives in New York, so in the bio for each woman, they could put where she's *originally* from rather than where she lives now to throw us all off the scent....which is why I think the spy could be a blonde wearing a brunette wig while taping her impressions for the camera, and with the editing going on, she could've been wearing ANY dress at the rose ceremony and taped her *insights* after the night was over in a different dress.

I'm just gonna sit back and laugh at this season....it's going to be an interesting one :p
