Sesame Street Celebrates 35th Season
|
My Fav Sesame Street Characters
Kermit, Ernie and Bert, Grover, Big Bird, and Oscar the Grouch.
|
OH WOW! very cool! my fav and is my 4 yr olds favorite is Elmo. Though when iw as a kid Elmo wasnt around yet so i have to say Big Bird
|
I thought the bats who lived in The Count's castle were cute, but they aren't main characters. :D I also liked Grover, despite him never getting the blue guy's orders right at the restaurant. You know, I think the characters today are a lot cuter than they were when we watched it. I mean, Elmo's ADORABLE!!!!!!!
I also like one of the characters only seen on the Canadian versions, Louis the Otter. It was slightly after my time when he made his debut (I think I was 5 or 6), but I still watched it. I just didn't tell my friends :D |

Cookie Monster and Oscar were always my favorites. And Mr. Snuffle-Upagus too!
|
lol
Calling Dave Chapelle....it's time to bring back the Sesame Street bit and incorporate that into one of your shows. If you've seen "Killing them softly"..... |
Grover was my fav. As well as the two martians. Yipp Yipp Yip Yip... uh Huh.
|
"These are the people in your neighborhood..."
I know that we've lost some Sesame Street people in the years past but I saw a commercial with Elmo and "Luis"...and I'm thinking, "Damn--do these people not AGE?"
Can't wait until the PBS special. |
Grover, especially when he is the waiter as well as Super Grover.
|
Anyone here like the Two Headed Monster? Did they (or should that be he?) have names? All I remember is that they were purple and that they spoke a misture of Monster and English.
OOhhh yeah, I loved the Twiddle Bugs too. |
Grover, Cookie Monster, Big Bird, the Count, Prairie Dawn, Snuffle-Upagus and Oscar the Grouch
|
i just found out that my two little cousins are going to be on episodes this week. i'll have to tape the episodes to watch for them.
|
Grover and Cookie Monster are my favorites. I used to have a little record player that played "C is for Cookie." :)

I love Big Bird and Snuffy the best. I @#$%ing HATE Elmo.
I watched the beginning of the anniversary special (there was way too much Elmo so I had to change it) and Susan, Gordon, Maria and Luis all look EXACTLY the same as they did when I watched it....keep in mind I am in my 30s!! Bob looks the same too except his hair is lighter. |

I still remember when Mr. Hooper (or Mr. Looper to Big Bird) died. I was about 3 or 4, and it was the first time I found out about death and dying. One of my favorite episodes was when Luis and Maria got married on the roof (mid 80s I think). And then Gabriella was born a few months later. Up until a few years ago I thought that Luis and Maria were married in real life. Haha. After that last thread about favorite SS songs, I took it upon myself to dl some of the songs mentioned...and I now have a "best of" CD playing in my car. I'm so glad that a new generation's appreciating SS just as much as I did. I am wearing my SNUFFY shirt to the bar tonight. YAY. |
1) They recast Miles!!!! The new Miles has cornrows.
2) Does anybody ever wonder how much money the live Sesame Street actors make? Kevin Clash (Elmo) is probably filthy rich, what with all the product tie-ins, but you know, I wonder if Maria, Luis, Gordon, and Susan are livin large. |
I don't know how much they make but the service they have performed over the yrs for many of us they should be paid a lot!
I just read an article in a sunday paper entertainment article recently that the girl who plays the vetrinarian ( for some reason her name is escaping me) is going to be on the Sopranos as a girlfriend to one of the thugs on the show. |

I loved everyone, I likes Barkley and Linda, the deaf lady, and Guy Smiley, and Harry, and Telly, and Snuffy. Oh and baby Natasha, I liked her gibberish. Oh and Erinie's little songs, I LOVED those. Its different now. My daughter watches it (if I turn it on before Dora comes on). I remember when Jim Henson died, and the muppets did a little thing about it, when they "found out" he died. I cried, it was so sad. I thought that was the most "cryable" moment, along the lines of The Color Purple. :( |
I didn't know where else to post this. FUNNIEST PIC OF THE DAY!
