How come, when the Chinese man delivers the food to my house, he always rings the bell frantically (at least 15 times non-stop)and bangs on the front window, as if someone is chasing his a$$??
How come I always have to fling open the door and yell "Hey! How many times must I tell you NOT to ring the bell like a madman? Ring the bell ONCE and give us time to get to the door!" How come this delivery man from hell (it's always the same dude)continues to stand in my doorway AFTER I've already given him his tip, like it's not nearly enough for him? How come, when I came to work with my new hairstyle last month (it was kind of like Halle Berry's hair in swordfish)....a student asked me (very loudly) was I the new PowerPuff girl? How come there are commercials that advertise miracle pills that increase your breast size an amazing 2 cups in a few weeks? Why do they have these foolish looking women in bikinis sitting down at breakfast popping this pill and talking about how people ask them if they've had breast implants? How come the pills are supposed to stimulate the dormant nerves in your breast. Hell, if breasts grow simply by being stimulated, we would all wear a double F cup and can give the money to the men in our lives! how come people hate on cali, but drink our wine...jock our style...bump our music...and run to the theater to see all our movies? how come men stare at your chest and not at your face when they talk to you? how come my school administrators act like you are inconveniencing them when you ask them to do something job related? they gettin' paid ain't they? how come when i was in biloxi at black spring break a pizza hut waitress had the nerve to get a attitude with me cause i asked for alfredo...and she brought me chicken alfredo...then said well you asked for alfredo didn't you? duh, huh, yeah, alfredo...chicken alfredo...there's a bit of a difference specially when i done pointed out to you on the menu... how come when you're in a club every dude with five or more golds wants to talk to you? and how come they think that's cute? how come "name brand" stores can afford to sell you the same items at $10 a pop and not loose money? how come the sun shines? how come gravitational pull keeps me from floating around? how come they don't teach us our true history? how come a female and a male can make babies but two males or two females can't? how come no one sees anything wrong with that equation? how come 1+1 can equal 2 or 12? how come water is blue, sand comes in brown, black, and white and dirt comes in brown, red, black, and white? how come standard education makes us dumber, not more intelligent? how come people don't love themselves? how come....people can't read a well-placed obvious sign. (a person standing right next to the bathroom sign..."wheres the restroom?") how come....the business office workers at my university get an attitude when you come to collect your credit balance check. (i mean damn i'm the one who should be pissed its my damn money!) how come....difference is seen as a negative and not a positive. how come....many activists lose their faith. how come....a father of one of my mentees asked me what it was like to be the president of the black student union and not be black. (hello! i am black dag!!! so what i'm light!!!) how come....i am so light that when i was younger i had white friends who said "nigger" around me on the regular (in reference to black people) and when i confronted them about what they said...they inevitably would say, "you're not really black" just because they found out i was bi-racial. how come....i am too serious for my own mental state! how come....i'm venting now for no apparent reason. how come....i'm graduating from college in May 2002 and i'm scared...sh*tless! how come... ahhh fugg it...i'm out! peace |
