Vibes, thoughts, prayers, whateva needed for Washington Preceptor Alpha Xi chapter

Yes sisters, I am a member of the aforementioned chapter. I just got a call this morning from our VP about our president Trish McCaffery. She has recently been complaining about migraines. Yesterday she went to the doctor and found out why: she has a malignant brain tumor. She was operated on and is in ICU at St. Joseph's Hospital in Bellingham. That is all I know for now. She has 3 kids under 8 (including a set of twins). Please keep her, the family and our chapter in your thoughts.

Thy sister,

Jill

I will keep Trish and her family in my prayers. I hope that she makes a complete recovery.

Your sister and your chapter are in my thoughts.

Oh, Jill. I'm so sorry. Our sister Trish is certainly in my prayers.

Good news

I got this email from one of my sisters:

She is in the hospital all drugged up, but good news is, she is going home on Saturday. Kathy and Alice are going to her home at about 3:30 today to help clean house for her arrival. Trish's sister is still here and her brother flew in. Kathy and Alice are taking buns and cold meat slices to stock the refrigerator for the kids and company. The church has meals lined up for about 6 weeks. I would like to find out if Trish needs help doing the bookkeeping for her husband's business. Then we could call the volunteer center and get someone for her. If her husband is okay with that. They may not need it.

I wish I could go to help but I work 3-11 today

Good news! It's wonderful to see Beta Sigma Phis rallying together to support a sister.

Continued prayers for Trish and family.

Jill--any further news??

Hi there--just catching up with my reading...do you have any further news on our sister??

Mizpah!

I missed the meeting the other night, due to some bad news in my family. (My old man who lives back East had a stroke on Tuesday) I heard she starts radiation and it will give her about an extra year or so :(

I will get details soon. She emailed me last night

Jill1228 04-21-2004 03:41 PM

Not good news

Trish got the test results back. :(

Her cancer is stage 4. Translation: Terminal :(

They gave her about a year to live. Right now her husband is kinda in denial. How do you prepare a husband and 3 boys under 8 for the inevitable?

ThetaPrincess24 04-21-2004 04:00 PM

i'm sorry to hear that Jill :( My cousin Shelley was diagnosed a few years back with breast cancer. They didnt think she was goingt o make it but she somehow went into remission. Unfortunately, a year ago the cancer has come back in her lung, the other breast, and somewhere in her esophagus. All four of her children are between the ages of 4 and 12-two girls and two boys.

I will pray for your friend.

erica812 04-21-2004 08:25 PM

Oh, Jill. I'm so sorry. There really aren't words.......:(

Prayers and hugs.

I'm so sorry, Jill.

My thoughts are with your sister, her family, your chapter, and you.

Bumping this up...and it is not good.

In December, Trish had a surgery that they hoped would prolong her life just a little bit more. The surgery was successful but things have went to hell in a handbasket from there

Well the H word has entered the picture...Hospice. She is on her way out. 2 days ago she was put in a rest home that does hospice. Some of the girls saw her last night. She can't eat or drink and is pretty much living on morphine. She is near comatose and can't talk or anything. It will be a miracle if she makes it thru next week.

She is only 41 and has 3 kids under the age of 10 (including a set of twins). Her parents are coming down from Richmond, BC to help take care of the kids. Trish's husband has been by her side and is holding up much better than I expected.

Kinda hard but I think last night will be the last time I will see her alive. Kinda tough seeing her but I am glad I did

So send prayers, vibes, whateva to her family, especially to her husband Terry and her 3 boys

Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry, Jill :( There really aren't words that I can say to express how awful this is... My thoughts and prayers are with Trish, her family, you, and her sisters.

ragtimerose 01-27-2005 04:45 PM

My thoughts go out to you and your Preceptor Alpha Xi sisters...from an Eta Pi sister in Louisiana.

Hugs.

ThetaPrincess24 01-28-2005 05:27 PM

I'm so sorry to hear about your friend :( I took care of someone in similar condition this week in my clinical rotation for nursing.

I even cried with the patient when he was telling me his history and story.

I will add your friend to my prayer list .

Jill1228 02-01-2005 05:00 AM

Trish has joined the chapter in the sky

The Beta chapter in the sky...

It is with a heavy heart that I announce this: Trish passed away on Saturday morning at 8:50am. Her husband stopped in to my work to talk to me yesterday. When I saw him, I immediately knew. I was NOT tryin' to hear it! :(
He said she is in a better place. He and the kids are holding up better than I expected (better than I am).

I am going to bring some food over tomorrow. Her service is Friday at 1PM. Cross fingers that my boss can finagle the schedule so I can have the time to go to her service (I work 11a-730p)

Please have her husband Terry and 3 young sons in your thoughts and/or prayers

Xylochick216 02-01-2005 11:04 AM

Oh Jill, I'm so sorry :( I'll be praying for everyone. At least she's not in pain anymore.

ragtimerose 02-01-2005 02:57 PM

My condolences go out to her family and Preceptor Alpha Xi sisters.

amgn253 02-01-2005 07:18 PM

I'm so sorry Jill. My prayers are with her family and your chapter.

bsp-mich24 02-03-2005 10:14 PM

Jill, I hope your doing ok. Trish's family is in my prayers.
((((hugs))))

Her Memorial is at 1PM today and my boss is gonna give me and a coworker (who played baseball with her husband) some time to go. Funny, a lady called work and asked if she left her credit card. She said she remembered that she was buying flowers for a funeral tomorrow and that was the last place she had it.

Me: You got a service too huh?
She: Yup, you too?
Me: Yeah, tomorrow
She: what time?
Me: One PM
She: where?
Me: Cornwall
She: Me too
Both: TRISH????

Yup.
