Who'd Play you in a Movie?
To bite off of my frat's topic.... if a movie were being made about your life, who would you want to play you? Base your choice on the actor's/actress's appearance/physical type and/or the type of character they usually play.
I would choose ole girl that played Mia in The Best Man, but all my students say that I look like Elise Neal, the wife on The Hughleys, so it would be one of them. |
I would have to say Lela Rochon because of her physique and personality...

Hmmmm who could play a good ME?
SANAA LATHAN or NIA LONG. |
I guess her name is Nikki Parker, from the PARKERS. People say we look alike, and we built alike.
|
I want to be played by Ariyan M Johnson from Just Another Girl On The IRT.
She reminds me of myself. She's street smart, no nonsense, cute, short, sassy, basically a younger version of me. Physically, we don't really look alike, because I'm very fair, but she could still do me justice. |

I believe Halle Barry would play the role of me the best she has a knack at tackling creative personalities well.
|
a combination of halle berry and angela bassett...
|
I've been told I look like that girl on the Steve Harvey show (minus the high pitch voice). But in a movie I would say a combination of Halle Berry and Vivica A. Fox. I say Halle because of her acting abilities (can't she do everything?) and Vivica because I loved that role she played in Set It Off. That's me -- business smart and street wise.
|
No one could do my vida loca better than Vivica Fox.
|
A combination of David Chappele's attitude with a young Omar Epps Look http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif and Wesley Snipes Skin tone look.

No, I don't think she is either but she kind of reminds me of myself. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif

I don't look a thing like her, but I like her style: Regina King.

This topic brings back memories :-) When I was just a prospect, the Ladies of Alpha Kappa Alpha were having an open house. There was this one game where you had to pick out mints and answer questions based on the color mint you got. I think for green you had to answer who would you want to play you in a movie. My soon to be LS made the huge error of saying Halle Berry... all the AKA's in the room stopped and laughed in her face saying..."who do you think you are??"
Sorry guys... LOL... I just had a nostalgic moment. But back to the question. I had also gotten a green mint and since I'd done theater for 7 years and was set on not making the same mistake as my LS I said... MYSELF!! And the answer still stands. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif ------------------ ...Taking control of my beauty... loving me for me... I have two. Either:
James Bond III (Monroe from "School Daze" and "Def from Temptation") b/c in my younger days people said I reminded them of "Monroe" or Alphonso Ribiero, b/c people nowadays say I have a "Carlton" personality (preppie/buppie nerd). CT4, what do you think? *LOL* http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif RM |
I would have to say Lark Voorhies(sp?) from Saved By the Bell & How to Be a Player. When I was in High School this guy called me that everyday.

Tichina Arnold from the sitcom Martin. I have had so many people tell me that I resemble her, it is ridiculous!
I love the part that they gave her in Martin-sassy, street-smart, sarcastic and witty http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif I would also have to say Vivica A. Fox, because she gets the job DONE in all her roles. She's classy & sophisticated. ------------------ "Mind ya own, stay true to ya own, be ya own." Jada Pinkett Smith--we are physically the same size, complexion, hair cut, etc. She has that snazzy attitude that fits. I don't think any other actress out there would do me justice.

When I was younger people said that I looked like Sandra's husband from the Cosby show(I can't remember his name); but they tell me I act like Jamie Foxx. So I guess it would have to be some unknown.

This is a cool survey question. I would say that Naiomi Campbell would be the actress who plays my roll. Ever since 14 years of age, 23 currently, people have told me that I highly resemble her (features and build). However, our styles are NOTHING alike. My style is more that of Mercedes from IN DA' House (w/ LL Cool J) and my hair is ALL mine, and ALWAYS has been. So, if she could pull it off, and it will be no easy feat, Naiomi Campbell would somewhat suit me!

I would have to go with Nia Long.

I would have to go with Kelly from DC. If she decided to act.

I would have to say that my personality is akin to Vanessa Williams in Soul Food with a hint of Lela Rochon in Boomerang. I can be studious and perfectionistic, yet silly at the same time.
Based on looks, people have hold me that I'm a mix between Faith Evans and Vanessa Williams. Although I and others also think that I look very similar to Entertainment Tonight's Lisa Channing (except she's a little bit smaller than I). But the actresses whom can play me well would be Vanessa Williams (based on her character in Soul Food) and Sanaa Lathan (based on her role in the Best Man) as they have star quality and are sophisticated with a hint of sass in each of the roles I've mentioned........and that's me in a nutshell. Somewhere between Tisha Campbell and Garcelle Beauvais in resemblance (?sp).
Personality? a cross somewhere between Halle Berry's and Robin Given's characters in Boomerang.... Am I bipolar? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif [This message has been edited by jazbri (edited June 28, 2001).] |
I would probably say Jackee' - (formerly of 227 & Sister/Sister) Everyone says I sound like her and personality!!!
|
If Tyra Banks could act better...I'd say her.
|
The guy who played Q on the Best Man.
Terrance D. Howard |

Everyone tells me that I look like a young Lynn Whitfield. I'd choose her if she was 20 years younger. But she's still damn good looking for her age.

Oh, BTW, Monroe was the short guy in School Daze who kicked it with "Da Fellas" (Larry Fishburne, Bill Nunn, Kadeem Hardison, etc.)the one who was always getting riffed on by the others. Just FYI RM |

Countess Vaughn would be perfect to play me in the TV movie of the week...only if she dyed her hair back to brown.
|
I would have to say Vivica Fox and Vanessa Bell Callaway(sp), with a hint of Sommor, because I have a comic side to me.
|
I'd have to say it would be someone with a twist of Lela Rochon and Jada Pinkett Smith with a little bit of Catherine Zeta Jones. But au natural. Maybe some Garcelle Beauveis. Someone who is really real with there's so I think Jada might when the vote cause she's also short like me. The problem would be finding someone who even halfway looks like me!
Who knows maybe I'll pave the way to play the role of a famous African, Black, Caribbean, or dark Latina female or possibly a black and asian mixed lol. [This message has been edited by CodeBlue_R3 (edited July 02, 2001).] |
I would have to say I am a cross between the ball headed brother on The Practice (I like his passion for the Law, yet he is very intelligent and carries himself well, and Ving Reims (sp). I like his versatility and ability to adapt to many different roles.
