Pimp My Ride: MTV

When I saw this on MTV2 I was totally . I thought it was a joke.

Does anyone watch this show?

Miss. Mocha 03-26-2004 03:29 PM

My husband LOVESSSSSS this show. He watches it religiously. I've watched a few episodes, and the work they've done is STELLAR.

How come my husband wants me to write to them & ask them to pimp out his '88 Chevy Beretta? How come I drove it today, and I'm writing them as soon as I get out of Greekchat?

I wonder if they will come to Chicago & hook a sister up.

SKEEphistAKAte 03-26-2004 03:34 PM

I saw one episode when they pimped this girl's cadillac. That car was so raggedy- she didn't even need a key to start the ignition because the key was permanently broken off in the ignition-LOL. So they painted the car hot pink, put rims on it, a waterfall in it, and a dvd system in it. It was nice. I think it is a neat show.

That is the only one I saw too. I loved that shoe rack they put in that mug along with the NILE RIVER. . . that was the hotness.

I need to catch the other 2 eps I have missed.

I really enjoyed this particular episode. Next week another girl gets her Honda fixed up. They give her Lamborghini (sp?) doors and she is sooooo excited.

nikki1920 03-26-2004 04:15 PM

This is what I wanted to tell HC about.. lol!

HC I was lol at the expressions X was making when her car alarm kept going off? Bwahahahaha

I think Xzibit is a great host. I was lol when he was like FIX the ride to Christine's grand mother. West Coast Customs is getting loads of free publicity.

This show is a great idea.

BLUTANG 03-26-2004 04:50 PM

last night i was so excited for that girl! I drive a coro that's (almost) as raggedy as her civic, and i was calling people like PUH-LEEEEZ nominate me for "fix" my ride. I want lamborghini doors too!

i think it's a nice show and X is a great host. when are they coming to the east coast? :o

preciousjeni 03-26-2004 05:16 PM

Xzibit is tooooooo fine!! This show is great too! I can't think of at least one person who I'd nominate...yes, you #2 Connect Four - you know who you are and, no, I'm not calling out your real name.

Neosoulchild 03-26-2004 06:59 PM

I like this show too. I also like Xhibit as a host too; I'm so glad they didn't get someone liek Snoop to do it. The first episode was pretty good. They fixed a HighJet (sp??). I haven't missed an episode yet. As you can see I really have a life. But NEway, I was wondering how will granny get in the car, the doors didn't seem to come up high enough for granny to get in without hurting herself. It was still nice of them to do it though. I was shocked when she said she had never had a CD player before, now she has to go out and get some CDs.

When you go to this page, look towards the bottom center. It says "Want to be on the show?". You have to send them an email with a pic of your car. YOU HAVE TO LIVE IN ScCAL. Here is the link. Good luck!

Wow, I really don't watch MTV, but I may have to check this show out. I viewed the flipbook and wow, that's amazing.

I'm a little too conservative to have a "pimped out" ride, but a sista was feeling the massage chair seats and the shoe rack in the trunk. Hmm. I'm in SoCal.

When I saw Nile and her caddy, I iiiiimmediately thought of you and your cadillac.

How much do these custom jobs cost? Shoot, I don't need a waterfall, shoerack or a playstation, just buy me a nice conservative BMW or something!

That's a brand spanking new Camry!!!!LOL ;)

delph998 03-29-2004 12:34 PM

I've fallen in love with this show. I always say that I'm not going to watch it, but I've been suckered in.

lil_sunshine 03-29-2004 05:06 PM

I loooooove this show! I love the jobs West Coast Customs has done on each car they've customized. I wish that I lived in SoCal so they could pimp my father's Batmobile (a black '87 Lincoln Town Car)......

Conskeeted7 03-29-2004 05:49 PM

This is the kind of stuff that my hubby wants to do to his car. Well, not the waterfall, but a custom paint job and the big rims.

I just don't see it being a good investment. Like some people have noted, you can just buy another car!! So, I really don't see putting all that money into it.

Now if I was on a show where they did it for free, he could have all the tvs and playstations and waterfalls that he wanted...lol...that'd be a good investment :)

That's the only ep I've seen. That was hilarious, he was like "FIX your ride, we are gonna FIX your ride!" I have always like Xzibit, he seems like he would be cool to hang out with. I remember when they did a cribs show on him and he was describing his "one of a kind" coffee table. He was like "Dude said it was one of a kind, and it better be because if I ever see another one it's going to be coming through his store windows as I throw it out of the car at 35 miles per hour." I died! Anyway, I thought it was cool how ol' girl was so happy she was crying, that was nice.

I KNOW RIGHT!! lol

Although...**sigh** I do live in LA and I've BEEN in a pimped out ride. Yes, dressed in my pink polo dress and scarf I rode to the store with my cousin in his 64 Impala. Needless to say, it was a VERY short trip. I rode with the scarf wrapped around my head and sunglasses. lol. I was about 20 at the time. LOL. That was funny!!

I would walk all the way to L.A. to see abaici in a "pimped out" ride.

OK, I literally laughed out loud!!

Well, your walking shoes are spared because there's not a snowballs chance in HADES of that happening (AGAIN!)

btb87 03-30-2004 01:41 AM

Okay, I'm watching this now on MTV2. They've got a college student with an '86 Cutlass Supreme that was in baaaaad shape.

But I got just 1 question, so somebody 'splain to a sistah. . .

Why you need an intercom in 2 square feet of space???

I was not feeling the intercom or the karaoke machine in the back. If a guy approached me with that, I would be like BOOOO YOU BUNK!!

But from what it WAS to what it IS, 100000% better.

Girl, you're definitely right about that - it was WAAAAAAYYYY better!

And of course, I could live with the GREEN! ;)

I think the intercom is used when somebody is checking under the hood. Then instead of having to lean awkwardly out of the window or holla, you could hear them say, "Okay, now....stop....try it again...got it."

And so on and so forth.

Naw Xzibit said he could use it when placing orders or getting folks' attention without rolling down the window,

Okay, I guess I would have no business being Hood Rich.;)

I got that impression, because X was digging around under the hood when he demonstrated the intercom...wasn't he?

AngelicWings21 04-01-2004 06:27 PM

I love this show....Nile and her caddy was real tight...I was like I want a shoe rack...Did you guys see the shoes X gave her...I was like whoa....

What about the Honda and those doors....man o man...

The one thing I am hating now is ...when they show the previews..they show how the car is going to look before you even get to watch the whole segment...

CrimsonTide4 04-02-2004 11:00 PM

Ok I just caught the Mirage ep. . . the only thing they needed to add to that car was ACNE BE GONE for Antwon because his acne was RUUUUUUFFFFFFFFf.

Tell me what his boys do for a living that rolling in a Benz and the Denali. :o

I saw the Honda ep but I was on the phone so I did not hear the words and could not fully concentr8.

I love this show. Would never have a pimped out ride but watching the transformations are cool.

I do wonder though is the $20K an underexaggeration?!?!?! I mean some of the stuff looks like it should be way more.

Oh and I did not like the 8 track system in the car. Who still has an 8 track?!?! But hell it was an improvement from the boombox!!!! :o

How about I was rolling when I saw that boombox. :D :D :D

And what about ol girl coming on next week who didn't have a floor in her floor. I can't wait to see that one, but the little sparks they had coming out the exhaust pipe looked a little dangerous to me.

CrimsonTide4 04-06-2004 12:03 PM

Here is another question I want to know: do they fix the car besides the cosmetic challenges!?!?! Do they change the oil and fix the transmission too?

#1 Leading Lady 04-06-2004 12:11 PM

I was wondering the same thing because I can't see them putting X amount of dollars in those cars for it to break down in the next week or two because some of those cars are on the last life line.

LOL because Antwon did need some ACNE B GONE fast, quick, and in a hurry.....

:o His boy with the Denali was kinda cute if I must say :o

Neosoulchild 04-06-2004 04:12 PM

Another question:

Do they give these people alarms too? I know the girl with the Civic got one, but what about everyone else?
