My "not so minor" Accomplishment Today!
 

One of the things I am learning to do for myself is praise myself for the little things. Any accomplishment is an accomplishment and should not be thought little of. The more you praise yourself for the little things, the more you will do them and the more they will turn into the big things we all want to see happen.

So lets do it! Lets here what you did today, in any area of your life, that may seem minor to you, but still deserves recognition....

I'm getting divorced today!

It is on amicable terms, uncontested, and we were able to mediate the terms. Today is just going before the Judge to make it final.

I'm nervous as hell!!

Sweetie, all will be well! The best birthday present I ever received was my divorce papers! If you'd like to talk, or hear about a good divorce recovery group, give me a hollar!

It's only Tuesday and I've already had the week from hell.... 4 more weeks till summer break, 4 more weeks till summer break, 4 more weeks till summer break, 4 more weeks till summer break!!!!

Not killing anyone can be a very major accomplishment, indeed!

my 'not so minor accomplishment today' actually occured yesterday. After much debate I have decided to no longer obtain my teaching certificate through Rio Salado's online program. I have decided to go through Northern Arizona University. What makes it even better is that I will not only obtain my certification but a Masters degree at the same time. I cannot even express how excited I am. I say this because my undergrad gpa isn't to hot (2.39) but NAU in a worst case scenario would 'conditionally admit' me to the Masters program until I proved I could make the grade. I never thought in my wildest dreams that I would be able to go to grad school this soon. I really thought I would have to finish the Rio program before I could apply to grad school.

I am so excited!!!! :)

Bri-- does this mean you will be moving?

No, I won't be moving to flagstaff to finish my schooling.....but I'm hoping to be out of my house by July and that really depends on my finding a job sooner rather than later.

I think eventually I would like to leave Arizona. I mean all of my family is here but I wouldn't mind getting away. I've told my parents "as long as there is an alumnae association wherever I move to I'll be fine because I'll always have my sisters" :)

I just finished doing translations (English to French) for about half of the catalogue for my school's grad art show (for the senior Fine Arts majors). I was originally only supposed to do one page, but I ended up doing a lot more. I am SO proud of myself because when it was proofed, there were hardly any mistakes! I don't think I could have done this as well as I did at this time last year, that's for sure.

This is just really exciting for me... I want to be a translator, and after actually having to translate something for real instead of just little sentences for class, I just feel like I'm on my way there, or something.

Way to go, Leslie!! I'm so proud of my <diamond>!

I got my Financial Aid done, met with an advisor, saw my Diamond sister, met my GC <> sister and aided in Initiation! It was a great day!

Good for you! I'm tired hearing about all that!!

Today I helped out GPi with their Blue & White Day ceremony. It was pretty cool, as they've "never" done it. Tomorrow is initiation and that is always exciting. I've just drafted the evite for Founder's Day/Jewel Degree, and it is really cute! (if I don't say so myself!!) :D

Other than my GC <>, anyone going to be in NJ/NY/CT area on 4/25 and want to come to Founder's Day??

I hosted a baby shower for my best friend today. She and I team teach, were roommates in college, and she's also an ADPi sister. The shower was at my house and it was a great success!! I had such a hectic week so I was a bit worried about pulling everything off, but everyone had a great time and so did I. :D Yeah, I'm glad it turned out so well and she got alot of fabulous baby gifts. I can't wait to be Aunt Aimee. I hope that everyone has a great week!

Omigosh, I remember when the first one of our little group of sisters had a baby, and we had a shower for her - we had a cake that said "Rick O'Shea is on the way!" Well, of course, she had a girl, and Kelly was the first baby I ever held. Talk about love at first sight! She called me "Annissa" ("Aunt Melissa") until she was about 5, and I think my ovaries just jumped at the thought of it...

I will love baby Riley, but I do not think that my ovaries will be feeling anything! No ladies, Mr. Lonestar and I don't think we will be producing any ADPi, Sigma Nu, or Pi Kappa Phi legacies! :) I will be a great aunt to many children,plus I will spoil the hell our of them!!! That will get my baby fix seeing how ALL my friends are expecting!!

I just combined and updated my family and my boyfriend's family calendar and address books! yay!!

Omigosh, do I ever realize that what a chore THAT is!!!!! I still haven't accomplished that "little" feat!!!!!!

I finally finished my first real resume and interview!

Sunday I got to FINALLY go through Jewel Degree.

That's not really minor, but it was a huge accomplishment due to all the obsticles that I had to overcome to finally be able to go through it.

I wasn't able to be there for my first Diamond Sister's Jewel Degree :( but I've heard about the obstacles they had! I am SO committed to bringing back a wonderful Jewel Degree to Alpha Iota in time for next spring!!

Oh, and I managed a wild day at work, after coming back from Chicago. When I have a moment, I'll continue the craziness of my story on the Random Thread - noting, of course, that the photo of me is far from my best!!!

Today I finished 2 of 3 group presentations for the semester!!!! I'm so excited... One left... which is due next Tuesday then finals.

My continuing education class in Chicago is over after two long days and I got 100 on the final exam, so.......
I am now a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor (CBC) which means my full official title is now......
"adpi*nurse, BSN, RN, CBC, 1Lt USAF NC, Clinical Nurse, Labor and Delivery"
What a mouthful!

And I can say "I knew you when..." you didn't have all the add-ons to your title :D And I love you just as much now as I did back then, if not more! :cool:

CONGRATULATIONS!!!!!

I got my house put together with the aid of my best friend and adpi sister! We worked as a team. I watched her daughter while she went and worked out and she stayed ALL day to help me do laundry, put the guest room together and clean house. It was great! Now i'm ready for my future MIL and SIL to stay this weekend!! I love my sisters!!
