dzsaigirl 03-17-2004 09:09 AM

Well, a pool. But every kid who doesn't have one wants one of those! They said it was too big of a liability...

And an easy bake oven!

But I shouldn't complain because my parents have been very generous to me!

xok85xo 03-17-2004 09:16 AM

i always wanted an ez bake oven (altho i don't really recall ever asking for one, but whatever) so for christmas my senior year, one of my littles got me one :)

alikat2 03-17-2004 09:40 AM

A Puffalump stuffed animal thing (anyone remember these )when I was like 6. My mother said they were stupid.

A noisy, obnoxious game like Operation, however, was OK.

Me too...

I recall they had an incedent where some kid was burned by an electrical fire from one of those...

But we were born in the days when playgrounds had things that were tall and had pointy edges.

CrimsonTide4 03-17-2004 09:56 AM

a big wheel :(

ZTAngel 03-17-2004 09:58 AM

A perm. I wanted one so bad when they were popular in the late 80's. All my friends were getting them but my mother wouldn't let me. She told me that I would "thank her someday". Now I do. When I look back at pictures, I see my 7-year-old friends with puffy hair. They're hair is still damaged from the chemicals used.

I also wanted the game Mall Madness but my mean, mean parents wouldn't get it for me. :) My grandmother felt bad and bought it for me so when I went to her place, I played it there.

Had the pool.... but I never did get the ez bake oven! I keep seeing them in stores now and thinking, "I could buy it now!" :D I can't even cook in the regular oven.... I totally blame my parents for that because I never learned on the ez bake oven.

moe.ron 03-17-2004 10:43 AM

I also wanted to have the aircraft carrier from GI Joe. My next door neighbour had it and I was jealous. I also wanted the Nintendo with the robot when it first came out.

ME! I still have my pink cow Puffalump I got for Christmas when I was 7. I am rediculously attached to that thing--it went to college with me and now has a permanent home in our guest bedroom.

I always always wanted a Nintendo. Never, ever got one. If I saved up my money, I was allowed to rent one from the video store about twice a year and would stay up all weekend playing games.

DWAlphaGam 03-17-2004 11:27 AM

I, too, wanted an EZ-Bake oven and never got one. However, a few years ago, I was telling my boyfriend that I always wanted one. He said he should get me one, and I told him, "I will love you forever if you buy me an EZ-Bake oven." Our anniversary was a couple of months later, and he got me the oven because he said he wants me to love him forever. (I know, he's too cute...doesn't it just make you sick? ;))

XOMichelle 03-17-2004 12:44 PM

When I was little I really wanted one of the soft Gund Golden Retreiver Stuffed animals. They came in all different sizes, and I had a friend who had the dog in every size!!! I wanted one for years, but my parents were not about to pay more than $10 for a stuffed animal.

They finally forked over the chash and got me one for high school graduation.:D

DeltAlum 03-17-2004 12:48 PM

A Porsche.

OtterXO 03-17-2004 12:49 PM

A horse :( I was obsessed with horses and riding but they didn't think I would take it seriously past the age of 12.

greeklawgirl 03-17-2004 12:52 PM

I really wanted a dog and a pony, but growing up in Brooklyn didn't really make either one of those feasible!

I finally got a dog when we moved to Arizona, but I'm still working my parents for the pony. ;)

Sister Havana 03-17-2004 01:31 PM

I wanted the Millennium Falcon. It was the one big Star Wars figure-related thing I didn't have back in the day.

Rudey 03-17-2004 01:42 PM

A BB Gun.

Dionysus 03-17-2004 03:17 PM

Rollarblades. They were scared that I was going to fall and crack my head open on the cold concrete.

Right. I had to settle for a "bugeye" Austin Healey Sprite for my high school ride.

Peaches-n-Cream 03-17-2004 04:38 PM

I wanted a baby brother or sister. I have two younger sisters, but I wanted a baby. I also wanted a cat, a dog, or a pony. I got a bird and fish instead.

I did get most of the non-living things I requested.

Glitter650 03-17-2004 05:48 PM

I was never allowed to have a nintendo or any gaming system...I am bitter to this day because do feel it has caused me pain and suffereing since now I am made fun of when I do get a chance to play because it is quite evident that I've had NO PRACTICE and I SUCK at video games !
but I suppose I can forgive because if nintendo is the only thing I was deprived of as a child I'm pretty well taken care of ;)

I cracked my head open on a windshield instead while I was on my rollerblades.

Seriously.

I REALLY REALLY REALLY wanted one of those too. But my mom thinks that kids should have to supply their own power (my parents were all about me being active as a kid; didn't want me being fat...and they wonder why I refuse to give up running now, despite being injured)

I wanted one of those dogs that you could walk on a leash that barked and stuff. It was white and fluffy. can't remember the name of it now though...

AOX81 03-17-2004 08:00 PM

I always wanted a phone in my bedroom but my parents would never get one for me. :(

Taualumna 03-17-2004 08:12 PM

A personal telephone line!! I didn't get one until this year!

aephi alum 03-17-2004 08:24 PM

I wanted piano or violin lessons. My parents got me recorder lessons instead. Recorder = MOST BORING INSTRUMENT EVER. They told me that if I practiced, "maybe" I could get piano or violin lessons later on. After a few years of "maybe next year" I gave up trying to change their minds. But now I sing :)

I also wanted a kitty cat. My parents didn't want a cat around the house. I brought the cutest kitten home one day, in the hopes that they would fall in love with his sweet face, but they made me return him :(

veemers 03-17-2004 10:01 PM

When my parents got married, they planned to have two kids. They had two daughters, and my mom thought it would be nice to buy each of them a rocking chair that they could one day take and give to one of their children.

And then three years later, the surprise came along. Yep, me. And at that point, my parents didn't have as large an income as they had when they bought the other rocking chairs, so I never got one. And I personally think that sucks since I'm more into tradition and heirlooms than both of my sisters COMBINED.

I want my rocking chair.

Tippiechick 03-17-2004 10:20 PM

I wanted a chimpanzee or an orangutang (sp?)... I had everything else BUT the monkey!

You should have asked for a gorilla. I bet that they would have gotten you that.

cutiepatootie 03-17-2004 11:17 PM

I wanted the barbie dream house and the barbie corvette and i wanted ice skates but my parents figured there was not much use for ice skates since no ice skating rink near by.
