what is your clothing style?
are you preppy? casual? classy? or do you just not care what you wear?
|
what's a clothing style?
|
The Girl Next Door look. :p
|
My perfect outfit starts with a good pair of jeans--low waistband, tight, and long enough to where they kind of wrinkle at the bottom. I like to wear turtleneck sweaters and boots (either Docs, high-heeled ones, or cowboy boots) with said jeans, and a leather jacket if it's cool out. For summer, I just substitute the turtleneck for a tank or halter, and sometimes I wear sandals (platform, flip flop, whatever) instead of the boots. The great thing about this kind of outfit is it works for anything--school, date, shopping, out with the girls...the only exception I can possibly think of is going to the barn.

Depends on my mood and the occasion. Most days, I'm casual with a bit of preppy sometimes thrown in.

Ever heard of Trucker Chic? Think stripper chic for me...
|
A mix of casual and classy. I look like a complete idiot when I try and wear something really trendy--like uber short miniskirts and off-shoulder/one-shoulder tops. It just doesn't work for me. So I tend to stick to the basics--I think 80% of whats in my closet is khaki, black, gray, red or white with a little pink thrown in for good measure. I love boatnecks and 3/4 sleeves.

I'm with Rudey, Blue Oyster Bar from Police Academy.

I am a stuck up materialistic bitch. I wear nothing less than Chanel.
|
Anything that allows me to go commando every chance I get.

I'm a big fan of the "whatever's clean and doesn't need too much ironing" look.
|
I love the "classic" look....think Talbots, suits, nice pants, etc. However, Talbots doesn't fit me well (I'm a little too tall) and I can't really afford to have nice suits/skirts. Right now where I work is pretty much "business casual" so that's what I've gotten used to.
I only own one pair of jeans. And I hate bras (but I still wear them in public). PsychTau |
For teaching: khakis and polos.
For the rest of the time: JEANS and T's!!!!!! |
For work: skirts, heels/knee high boots, tight-fitting tops and/or cardigans. I'm always dressed up for work, which can be a bad idea as I'm a news reporter and sometimes get sent out into messy situations, like car wrecks. But at least I look cute
For going out clubbing/bar hopping: usually black pants, black platform shoes and a halter or tank top. I also love funky hats. For going nowhere on a Sunday afternoon: sweat pants aka "fat pants" :p |

I do try to keep it casual/classic. And I do love Talbots, and I love the Talbots outlet store even more! But............... NAKED works too.:p |
The ever-popular "Whatever's clean" look. :D
|
Tres casual this season, cuz I just don't care!
|
For work - business casual
Weekends - jeans, sneakers, timberland boots I pretty much like to stick with the basics. I usually prefer solids, but would wear the ocassional stripe/print if it looks real nice. |
Preppy and casual...oh and girly stuff too (floral dresses, pink, etc) :)
|
I only wear Dickies Cover-alls... That is all I will put on my body...
|
I don't really have a style. In the winter I'll wear jeans and knit sweaters with my boots. In the summer my feet stay as bare as possible, and I'll wear short shorts and halter tops. Of course, being that I live at the beach, I spend most of my summer barefoot in bikinis. I prefer to be as comfortable as possible, so if I'm not going out I put on sweats and a t-shirt to lounge in.
As for brand names, I don't see the point in being a label whore. I'm a fan of spending money on things like rent and food instead of clothes that'll just go out of style in a couple of months. Now I do own a pair of Coach sandals just because they're dirt cheap at the Navy Exchange (as are most name brands). |

Classics
I'm a big fan of basics, classics and natural fibers, accessorized with great shoes and handbags. When you're single and only have you to answer for, you can do this.
:) |
Trendy but classic at the same time. I won't wear anything that's too high fashion. I'll buy clothes that are trendy but also have a conservative/preppy flair to them. Kinda hard to explain. :)

Took the words out of my mouth, but in a guys sense. |
I am a combination of styles
I love the classic, preppy, girly, casual kinda gal! I love Ann taylor's the loft, talbots, casual corner, lane bryant, learner. i am with the other person who said 80% of my wardrobe is khaki, black , gray , red, a lot of girly ,a lot of preppy conservative, a lot of manolo blanik style shoes, a lot of loafers, a few pairs of nikes, reeboks, and asecs. i have a few pair of jeans and tonsof sweaters and tons of sweat shirts t shirts and kakhi shorts |
Comfortable and classy, with subtle sexiness.
|
I have three subsets of clothes.
Office-tailored-slightly dressy. Home-I'm with Carnation-jeans and anything suitable for the outdoors and gardening. Accessorized by Walmart shoes so when I ruin them I won't feel bad. Going out-mature trendy. I like the styles that are "in", but keep it toned down so it's suitable for my age. I refuse to dress like an "old lady" or an old lady trying to look "young". However, the common factor would lean toward tailored. SmartBlondeGPhB-I would SO love this look for every day.......... My favorite shirts are Nordstrom "wrinkle free". Oh my gosh! Aren't they WONDERFUL! You could sleep in them for three solid days and STILL, they would look crisp! |

She shops at some of the same stores that I do. :D That's fine with me, as long as she doesn't have more fashion sense than me. :p (shhhh...sometimes she does) |
Definitely have a casual, preppy style, very soccer mom! Khakis, jeans, t-necks, sweaters, polos or tees. Think Lands' End with a side of Target for basics. I've got a a nice collection of gardening or painting suitable couture in my wardrobe also :) I have a couple of classic "dressier" items, but would like to update those soon. JAM, want to come up here and go shopping with me?
I'm able to wear jeans and office super-casual at work, what a bonus! For my PL shows I wear khakis and a nice top in winter, capris or khakis and a summer sweater in warmer weather. |
Although i love my groups of styles above ..... Target and Ross i find cute stuff too. I am the PT soccor mom too so i know that look and love love love target and heck even wal mart has cute play clothes too.
Shoes....i hit up Ross and Target and walmart too for casusal no-nothing shoes that i too don't care if they get ruin. |
I honestly don't think I have one style. I like to be comfortable, but cute at the same time. When I work, I can't really be too dressy. So I have a tendancy to get really dressed up when I go out or if I go shopping. And of course I love to sit around the apartment in warm-ups and just relax. I'm don't purchase the high-end fashion items because I don't see the purpose of paying lots of money for something I will only wear for one or two seasons. I guess I have my own sort of style! ;)
|
I'm a clothes horse....can never have too much stuff! I would say my foundation is preppy but I sex it up a little at times. I love to be up with the trends but I am not a fad victim, I'm not young enough for that anymore. I like classy, expensive things and I love logos......one of my favorite new things is a pink Dior Girly hoodie with the Dior logo all over and two white stripes up the side....super cute!
