Traveling Book!
I have talked to Brother Jono, Beta Nu # 41 about this book!
He has read it and was sent back to me! This Book was written by Mrs. Ruth Doral Jones, who had been The House Mother of The Gamma Upsilon Zeta at UNo. Car. State U. "How Did Catsup Get On The Ceiling" Now, what I propose is that I send this book to a Brother of LXA to read, Sign and Date and send it back to me. Reason: It can then be sent on to another Brother!:) The reason is it shows how A Zeta Was back in the 60s and how far We have Progressed and the fun that they had!:) Any Takers? But you must abide by the rules of getting it back into my Hands ASAP so that it can be sent on to another Brother to be read and signed and resent on to another Brother! I now have another book coming and would like to do the same thing so that as many Brothers can see what has been written about not only LXA, but other situations! Let me know of any interest one way or the other!:) Just another way for Brothers to stay in contact and perspective with each other! In ZAX, |
I'll take it
I'll send my address via private post
|
Sorry Steve, Guess John got the Leg up on The Book!:(
He is a Lawyer and sent me his address first! May need Lawyer First and not A Scooter Jock like some People I know!:( Married, Kids and Pets! It is a Written Rule, it comes Back To Me with Name and Zeta # on The Fly Leaf!:D |
Yes I did read the book, and I resent it!
(I love the English language) In ZAX, Jono |
Jono, bad hair day or what Bro????;)
Steve, PM me your address and will get to you after John! No Kids Yet! Watch what you do with the little man!:) |
Count me in on this! Put me next on the list.
|
My favorite line from that book, describing the Lambda Chi house on a Friday evening in the '60s:
"the place gently reeked of Jade East..." Ha! Do they still make that stuff? ZAX, Jono |
Not a best seller
A nice collection of stories, it shows how fraternities used to be. I wish that we did dress today, that we would have a formal dinner from time-to-time, but we have to live in the present.
I don't think that this one will make the Times best seller list. It's in the mail. |
John, back in the Olden Days, we dressed daily as most were in Business Dept. or Auto Tech. If not, a lot were in ROTC!
We wore slacks and polo shirts so we could wear our Badges. God do I miss the Good Old Days where Brothers were proud to wear Badges or Letters. Never went anywhere with out Letters at least!:) All those interested in "The Catsup" book, PM me so can get a listing going! John, I hoped you signed it with name, Zeta and #! |
Book is speeding, even as we speak, with the velocity of 100 thundering turtles, to the next addressee.
|
But did you sign it? (I forgot!)
ZAX, Jono |
Where is the book now?
I sent if off a couple of weeks ago. Where is it now? And yes, I signed and dated the book inside the front cover.
|
I need to check with Steve. He said he got it and gave him LXAAlums address to send onto!:D
I think what may end up about this book unique is Brothers from all over from different Zetas, reading and signing it!:) Jono, I would like to find some Jade East myself, heck am back to Old Spice for The Old Standard!;) |
Got it.
Reading now. Good so far...funny perspective! |
Any body up next for the book?
Dont forget to sign it and put your Zeta and # on it!:D Jono and I were talking and he went looking for Jade East on ebay, He found some. God how funny, while we were talking I am remembering , Square Bottle, green cologn wiht a big woodened knob on it! Yep, I did to, just forgot until He and I were chatting!:D Damn, I dont want to think about how long ago that was!:( |
LXAAlum has asked me to let Him Keep The Book a litle longer as The New Chapter(Colony) of UN Co. is Initiating some New AMs and would like to read the book!:)
What a better way for The Newbies to get a glimps of the Good Old Days!:D So, I need to know if anyone else is interested in the book next? Remember, what will make this book special, is the Signatures, Zetas, and Numbers in the Future! PM me when you get a chance. |
Where is it now?
What we need is a map that traces the journey of the prodigal book
|
I'm up for it over the summer.
|
Book, book, who's got the book?
Where is it this week?
|
Brotehr John, you be funny!
LXAALUM is passing to the new young brothers at UNCo. I will get on his Brother Rear to step it up!:D OOps, got to run! in ZAX, |
The BooK!
Okay Brothers, School is starting anew!
LXAAlum has The Book, along with The Goat Book, two different versions of Greek Life. One LXA, the other KS. It is time to get it on the road again. Let Shawn know your address so it can be passed along to you. You must read them and pass along to another Brother. Sign The Catsup Book with Name, Zeta and #. It is not a mystery, spy, or any other type of fiction, it is what was happening at a Zeta back when.:D NCSU to be exact!:) |
Brother Tom,
As you can see, I finally got properly registered! Thanks to Jono for his helpful suggestion. As to this book, I would like to have the publication information about it: date, publisher, etc. I want to try and track it down for purchase. Yours in ZAX, docroc67 |
Oh wow, I'm glad it worked. Welcome back!
|
Hey, docroc, finally welcome aboard!:) Whew!
Glad Jono could be of help! Check with LXAAlum he has the Catsup book along with the Goat Book. Two different Fraternitys and schools but both somewhat interesting. LXA being the better one of course. Just fun reading of days of yore, more in our time era of course!:D |
docroc,
How Did Catsup Get on the Ceiling. Wake Forest, NC, U. S. A. Meridional Publications 1989 Hard Cover Good. No Jacket Shelfwear. This one copy is available from Alibris or Abebooks, but not so cheap at $49.90. It's written by Ruth D. Jones, Lambda Chi Alpha housemother at NCSU during the 60s and 70s. Cute read, but not worth fifty bucks plus, IMHO. No listing on ebay either at the moment. ZAX, Jono |
Brother Jono,
Thank you for the speedy response to my request for information about this book. Yours in ZAX, docroc67 |
Is anyone still interested in reading the catsup book?
I know there were some who wanted to read it but no one is coming to the fore front. LXAAlum has the books. We need to keep this going for prosperity. Some day, people will read this book and see many names and Zetas with numbers from around the LXA Greek Dom! |
I want to read it, but I'm alittle busy right now. I'll get back to yall when I get some time.
|
Chipster, talked to LXAAlum today and is going to send it out but also looking for the "Goat" Book.
Another Fraternity, but still a comparison between LXA and The Other one. Side Note, sent out an Item that Jono sent me from BN list server to interested Alums from list I have along with My Zeta Alums. Just the mention of "Rancid ORielly brought up one other Brother that new Patrick O!:D Not of B N either. Pat and Wolf picked me up at airport in Orlando when I went to visit B N 3 years ago. And to think that Wolf and O Rielly are living in the same Complex in SD, Cal. As we compared notes, I ment one Al Bemis at a Regional in KC 6 years ago, who later became High Alpha at Wyoming. As the world turns and gets so damn much smaller! ZAX, |
Per UPS - it's on a truck from Commerce City towards NM.
|
Kewel Beans S H. Chipster, hope you enjoy the reading!
it aint a Thriller but interesting! \LXA History in a book. Just entertaining! Notice the One line about John Tesch. LOL, he sounds like a wimpoid, but He is making $$$$ now!:D Hope He remembers LXA! Sent an email to his web Site and Nada return, go figure!:( |
Smoker????
That's the Jade East! Haha! |
Dang, do they still make Jade East?
Oh, big knob to get off early in the morning after a partY!:D Damn would like to find a few cases of J E. Could make a fourtune selling it to Brothers! Chipster, please make sure you sign it and Zeta too. Next in line please sign in! Alas for the good old days!:) |
"Bump!"
Chipster? Is The Book still around? Did You Sign It?:) Is anyone else up for THE BOOK? It anint A Thriller, but it is still fun to read along with the Goat Book, a different read for sure. Sucks as literature but a different perspective. Chip, if no one is interested, I want it back so can keep it in Safe House!:D |
Chip, while no one else seems to be interested, keep it, read when you can.
Until someone else wants to read it, then we will work it out!:) Ya got my stuff to send email or PM! Hope all is going well with Ya as J H and I talk alot if you dont know!;) In ZAX, My BN Bro. Adopted!:D Oh, does anyone one really know what a happened to JADE EAST????:( That or Old Spice! Just Old Fashioned Brother!:) |
Book is coming back to Me from Chip.
Anyone interested? Let me know. Have a lot of space to Place Your Name, Zeta, and Number on the fly leaf for posterity!:D One of these days, it might rest in the Archives and people will read it and wonder about the names in it!:) Who, What, and Why was this done!!!! |
*Bumped for New Brothers on Site*
I have the Book, "How Did The Catsup Get On The Ceilling" by Ruth Doravl, House Mom to NC ST back when. It is a fun read and light with pictures to look at and grin about. Let me know and I will send it off to you. But Let Me warn you, this is an important part of History. :) If you request this book be sent to you, you must read it, sign it, let us know when you are done and send on to another Brother. The final place will be at IHQ for many Brothers in the future to see your names. :) :D  |
I'm up for a good book, but at the moment I'm working on a move. Things can dissapear, or, at least, get packed for a couple weeks/months pretty easilly, so I think I'll wait a while before getting it sent to me.
|
Tom, I'd love to read/sign the book sometime. Let me know, and I'll give you my addy. I think the idea of sending it around and signing it is brilliant!
