LOTR brothers stick together...

A friend of mine sent me this picture, which I think is cool... These guys got so close during LOTR films, which they admit to being almost like brothers. I think it is cool... It is almost like a fraternity in a way... I guess... anyway, they are supporting Viggo's new film Hidalgo, which had its big opening and is supposed to rock... Has anyone seen it? I have like 3 movies I want to see, and I don't know what to see 1st...

Viggo def looks better with long hair.

chideltjen 03-04-2004 11:54 PM

I'm sorry... but Eljiah Wood is always going to look like his 12 to me. And he is MY age!

KillarneyRose 03-05-2004 09:42 AM

I remember reading that those guys all got a tattoo of the number 9 on their ankles. Apparently "9" is of some importance in the LOTR series. I thought that was cool :)

Viggo is so yummy. I disagree with ya, AGDLynn, about him looking better with long hair. I thought he was HOT in "Crimson Tide" :D

Ginger 03-05-2004 12:10 PM

There were 9 members of the fellowship:

Frodo
Sam
Merry
Pippin
Gimley
Legolas
Aragorn
Boromir
Gandolf

Lady Pi Phi 03-05-2004 12:22 PM

I believe there were also 9 humans kings which were given rings.

Three Rings for the elven kings under the sky
Seven for the dwarf lords in the halls of stone
Nine for mortal men doomed to die
One for the Dark Lord on his dark throne
In the land of Mordor whare the shadows lie
One Ring to rule them all
One Ring to find them
One Ring to bring them all
And in the darkness bind them
In the land of Mordor where the shadows lie

I am sorry, I am sorry, I am sorry... I am a LOTR dork, I know... and proud of it... Has anyone seen this new Hidalgo as of yet? I know some of you said you were going to see it.

they all did get the tattoo, but put it in different places.
the only two that have show in are sean (his is on his ankle) and elijah (his is on his hipbone)

chideltjen 03-05-2004 08:37 PM

Orlando has one on his wrist... I think.

However I thought I read that the 9 cast members all got different tattoos in elvish. They were all numbers... but one cast member got a #1, another: 2 , another: 3, etc etc etc.

Maybe I read that article wrong.

Nah, I'm probably the one who misread the article. I know there was a 9 in there somewhere, though! lol

Being a shameless, teenybopper-esque Orlando fan, I can confirm that this is true.

chideltjen 03-06-2004 12:58 AM

Actually KRose... I was wrong.
Read:
http://www.teenpeople.com/teenpeople...563632,00.html

"A Marked Man: Orlando has two tattoos -- a sun on his stomach and the Elvish symbol for the number "nine" on his forearm. (He and eight of his LOTR castmates got inked with the Elvish marking to commemorate making the films.)"

stagebear 03-06-2004 01:15 AM

they all got "9" in elvish.

krazy 03-09-2004 01:18 PM

I think if I were an actor, I would have wanted to be in LOTR over any other film trilogy in history... What a great set of films... I saw Hidalgo by the way this weekend, and Viggo was great, there is a lot of great scenery in this film as well, definately a theater viewing movie...

One of the "movie mistakes" in PotC is that you can see Orlando's tattoo in certain scenes.

I'd like to see other parts of Orlando... um-hum -- sorry, back to my real work... :D

It's okay... TROY comes out in May. And that has Orli AND Brad!

Talk about a girls night out.

Swoon. InTouch this week had a spread about "Hot Hollywood Hunks" and showed pics from all the historical films that have been made recently. Brad was quite yummy I must say. I should have kept it and taped it on my bedroom wall but Mr. ISUKappa might not have liked that! :p

Lady Pi Phi 03-11-2004 06:02 PM

Orlando Bloom is also going to be in a movie with Heath Ledger called "Ned Kelly"...yummmmm! :D

krazy 03-12-2004 01:26 PM

Has anyone seen this one? I am interested in hearng your opinions... I thought it was done very well...

sigirl 03-16-2004 04:34 PM

Never even heard of it, what's it about?

mommag2 03-19-2004 05:03 PM

I haven't Hidalgo yet, but my brother did and he said it was FABULOUS. Which is very odd since he's not into desert horse good feelin movies.

Can't wait to Viggo------HE IS SOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOOOT

They have been for a while now... haven't they? It's still good to look!
They just keep their relationship private cuz they don't want a bunch of media hype.

Yeah I think they have been together for a while.

There's a big "article" in The Star (I use artical loosely because The Star is a traash magazine) about them and how much they are in love.

Trying to salvage any last remnants of testosterone this thread might have, (J/K) it is almost time to start a thread regarding the Return of the King DVD... I am already anxious to get the DVD, especially since I have the other two all geared up and ready to go for my nerd-a-thon that some of us re having when it gets released...

LOL... wouldn't that be great if you just needed to kill 9 hours of your life. ;)

I know the non extended version comes out in may... what about the extended version? I'd rather buy that one.

9 hours? C'Mon, with the extended it is more like 12 hours of greatness... ha, sorry to bump but just saw... Yeah extendeds are good, but I want to see it again, and it isn't in the theaters around here... probly get the theatrical in May, and if I have the cash, the extended whenever it comes out.

While I thought he was hot being super buff, those tiny shorts have got to go. They are not sexy AT ALL!

ajuhdg 05-01-2004 02:31 AM

EXACTLY! They wouldn't be on very long! LOL!
