to all convention attendees
dear sisters, please be sure to say hello to our convention initiate, kerri grothe, the greeklife coordinator at florida gulf coast university. kerry is about 24-25 years old, and is a terrific young woman. we are lucky to have kerri as greeklife coordinator at fgcu and even luckier that she was not in a sorority(not sure where she attended college), so that we could have her join ours!! i think that everyone will love her--if she had gone thru recruitment when i was in school, we would have rushed her hard!! she will be an asset to zeta.
also, please look for our newest sisters from kappa tau chapter at florida gulf coast university and give them a big hello. at last count 5 youngs ladies from kappa tau will be attending convention!! as their g.a., i sure wish i could go, too!! have fun at convention-hope all your chapters win awards!!zlam, lisa |
I hope that everyone traveling to convention has a safe trip!
We should come up with a meeting place/ time. I would love to meet you all! Any suggestions? |

Dallas Area Night Alumnae got SILVER for the 5th Convention in a row!! We got 2nd Runner Up for Alumnae Programming!
We had a weird couple of years so we were thrilled to be recognized!! Congratulations to all the beautiful Zeta ladies that are bringing home awards! Hope everyone had a great Convention! See you in Houston in 2006!! ZL, |
Congrats to the Dallas Area Night Alumnae!
I am including two links to Convention Photo Albums. They are mostly Cali ZTA's, both alumnae and collegiates from Theta Omega and Kappa Theta chapters. (I'm the one with short blond hair, Jackie). Enjoy! http://www.snapfish.com/share/p=5053...498/l=29435077 http://www.snapfish.com/share/p=1843...139/l=29431080 |
You've got to sign up for the service to see the photos. :(
Anywho - my good news is that all the items I (personally) sent to the Crown Center Boutique sold out! My alumnae chapter also sold 300 of our pink ribbon ZTA pins! Should have sent more, lol - lord knows I've got enough of them laying around! :D |
So.....
Did they mention anything at Convention about our website? :D I was hoping they were going to unveil the new and improved website there but the old one is still up. |

Helen Margaret Harrison Award: University of Georgia (Gamma Pi)
I'm blanking on the others....if I can remember I'll let you know! |
thanks!! and congratulations to gamma pi!
|
I was at Convention and had a blast!!
-Gamma Pi won the Helen Margaret Harrison Award (I know that was already covered) -The second highest award went to Samford University (from my "sister" province!) My chapter brought home a Crown Chapter Award. This has been our goal for the past year......it was only the 3rd time we have ever received the award and the first time since 1999....so it was a big deal for us!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully it will now become a regular occurence! |
ztashelli
congratulations on your crown chapter!!! that is terrific. what school do you attend?lisa
|
I am so proud!!! Iota Pi
This is a note from our president!
We received each recognition award that a chapter can possibly receive...these are awards that are given to numerous chapters that meet the criteria for that particular award...this includes Financial Excellence Award, Scholastic Achievement Award, Fundraising Recognition Award (raising $5,000+), Award and Plaque as recognized members of the ZTA Founder's Club (rasing $10,000+ during the past two years---we were not previously members of the Founder's Club), Quota/Total Award, and Crown Chapter Award (receiving Crown Chapter means that standards in all important areas have been met). So all of those awards are great achievements, and we deserved all of those---because of all of our hard work. And also because of the Iota Pis that have worked hard and come before us--remember, we are being recognized for achievements since last Convention (which was in 2002). Therefore, even women that graduated over one year ago have had a direct influence on our success at this year's Convention. So we have to keep striving towards our goals and rising to them, helping the future of our Chapter! And now...drumroll please...the best news! The final night of Convention there is a Formal Recognition Banquet. Everyone--including National Council---dresses in Formal Dresses and looks dazzling! This is the night that "SILVER" is awarded. There are numerous categories for which Silver is given...and on this special night, OHIO was sparkling. Wright State, Miami, Youngstown Collegiate, Akron Alumnae, and Youngstown Alumnae (i think that is everyone) all received Silver. Different Silver Awards recognize excellence in different areas: some recognize excellence in one area like a Silver Award for Standards Excellence, Academics, Publicity, etc. However, there are three MAJOR AWARDS in which excellence is recognized in all areas. These awards are a HUGE deal, and even when announcing them, National Council takes much more time to explain the many accomplishments of these chapters, and there is a seriousness and anticipation in the room when these top three awards are announced. Last Convention, we received 1st runner up to one of third best award---the Merit Award. That award placed us 6th in the country. And this year at Convention 2004, IOTA PI RECEIVED THE MERIT AWARD!!! This places us THIRD IN THE ENTIRE NATION!! This is a huge deal, and it is so incredible to know that we are all working towards the common goals of doing the best we can for Iota Pi, UD, and the fraternity at large! What an incredible accomplishment. Congratulations, Ladies, and thank you for your love, respect, and support of Iota Pi and Zeta Tau Alpha! National Council appreciates our dedication and I appreciate all that you do...Thank you! |
congratulations!!
to our university of dayton sisters on their many accomplishments over the past two years!!!
