Ready for yet another reality show
**LE SIGH**
Missy Elliott Gets Real 1 hour, 48 minutes ago Add Television - E! Online to My Yahoo! By Lia Haberman Missy Elliott wants average folks to get their freak on. • E! Online's Missy Elliott fact sheet • News: Missy, Beyoncé, Alicia: Superfriends • News: Missy scores at 2003 VMAs The "Supa Dupa Fly" songstress is looking to uncover the next hip-hop sensation in a new reality series scheduled to air on UPN that comes across as American Idol meets Road Rules meets The Apprentice. Select wannabes will tag along with the Grammy-winning performer on an upcoming concert tour where they'll compete for their chance at 15 seconds in the spotlight and access to Elliott's substantial music-biz contacts. The group will live together, work together and presumably turn against each other all under 24/7 camera surveillance with one member expelled every week. Open auditions for aspiring performers kick off March 7 in Los Angeles, followed by casting sessions in Chicago, New York, Atlanta, Dallas and Arlington, Virginia. While there's no official airdate yet for UPN's tentatively titled Missy Elliott Project, the superstar plans to kick off her made-for-TV tour in April in support of her most recent album, This Is Not a Test. But first, Missy will hit the road with R&B friends Beyonc Knowles and Alicia Keyes this month for a 22-city tour. The Ladies First tour, which Elliott dubbed a "Lillith Fair for the urban side," begins March 12 in Fort Lauderdale and wraps up April 18 at the Oakland Coliseum. The busy hip-hopster, who won a Grammy last month for Best Female Rap Solo Performance, will face off against Beyonc at the upcoming Soul Train Award where both women are up for the Michael Jackson (news) award for Best Soul/R&B or Rap Music Video. |
This should be very interesting to say the least!!!!

Can we say Making of the Band for non-Cable subscribers?

They are just starting to do 2 much with reality TV. Everything has turned into a reality show.
|
I have a sinking feeling Missy Elliott is gonna make me dislike her

Yes, ladies and gents, I have a new tv show to watch. This will compete with American Idol though. |
It wont beat out AI but I'm sure I'll flipping back and forth... I just hope Missy don't act all grand like she is the end all in hip hop:D

I've known about this show for too long but didn't see anything for too long. My curiousity isn't too high for this anymore, especially after seeing MTB and AI. IMHO, I don't see it being as interesting as MTB. It's gonna be on UPN, not MTV where it seems drama and a few violent moments (a la Ness and the thumb-sucking Miami boy that I honestly forgot the name of) are expected and almost encouraged. It's on primetime network TV probably before 10 pm, so we're just not gonna see the real. Plus, I've already three seasons of a group getting picked, living together to cut the album, and adjusting to their new status and lifestyles. I'm expecting this to be an aiight remix. BTW, remember that Diddy did the second version of MTB (no one cares about O-Town :o ), so Missy would be doing the third installation. YAWWWWWN... |

I am sure Missy will act grand. Why? Because TV brings out the GRAND in quite a few folks. :o  :p |

Beside's Aaliyah, who else has Missy discovered or was an artist's main producer? Missy seems to be the female P. Diddy. She can write and producer her own albums, but has anyone else she produced have a memorable career? That means more than one album or 4 singles total, which ever is greater.
But, of course I'll watch just to see. |

I think Tweet? |
Missy has written songs for:
Tweet Monica (After the Storm CD) Whitney Houston (My Love is Your Love CD) Aaliyah Beyonce that's all off of the top of my head |

I forgot about Tweet. Her first album was good. Hopefully the next one will be too. |
I'm rooting for Jessica.
This Nic person -- not feeling him and then the N girl from New Jersey who got in the bed with him on the first night. I would rather see the drama then hear them rap and sing. I am tired of all of the runs already. |
I don't know who I'm rooting for yet. The first girl and Heather I am not feeling at all.
I want some drama too! |
Quote:
I hate to hear rap with no music in the background. Add Marcus to my root for list. |
Heather - please go home! Ms "I rap about where I came from" and you don't know about Big Daddy Kane, Salt N Pepa, or can't rap Jay Z.
She is FAKE! Wannabe! AND What's up with the women with Missy who are they and why do we need to see them? |

Eddie, Frankie B, and Cori need to go!

I think I am really going to like the drama on this show rather than like the singers. In fact right now I can only remember 4 out of the 13 (now 12) people. I was CTFU when Missy told Heather, "You're going places. . .just not with me." I CTFU even more when she stood there while the bus took off. Heather, you really disappointed me. I let you slide when you said that you did not know a BDK song (Smooth Operator, Ain't No Half Steppin'). But to not know a song by Salt-N-Pepa and to DEFINITELY not know ONE song by Jigga. What in the hayle??? When I was in HS, even the preppiest girls knew SNP. Hello, Shoop, Whatta Man?? And don't even get me started on the not knowing Jay-Z.   BTW, does Missy have an oral fixation or what? I really wanted to snatch that darn lollipop out off her mouth. |

When Missy dismissed Heather, I hollered. Here I was all set to cheer on a white female rapper. . .my question is WHAT DID SHE DO IN HER INTERVIEWS with Missy prior to the show that did not come through on last night's ep!?!?!? Yeah, the lollipops are like secondary characters in this joint or something.:o |

Mona Scott...all I can say is laawd help. In the beginning, I thought we were watching a British TV show or something. The filming wasn't sharp (club scenes). LMAO @ Missy telling ole girl... "you're going places, but it ain't with me." Homechick didn't know "PUSH IT." That was SNPs "crossover" smash! :p This show is kinda geddo. :o They ALL had to sleep in the same beds? I mean at LEAST give the peeps their own beds ON THE FIRST NIGHT. :o |

ETA: CT4, SHE needs invisalign FA SHO. :o |
Quote:
When Frankie said "If they would've let me go before Heather, I would've given up rapping", I HOLLERED!!! LMBO. |
Quote:
GEDDO is a good descriptive of this show. :o :p The folks on the radio here in Charlotte did a lot of talking about Missy's lollipops too. Maybe those lollipops got an endorsement deal or something. :p |
Wasn't Mona the chick on some awards show where Missy won an award and had a baby on the stage with them? Remember, folks kept asking who is that? I think that was Mona.
Is Teena gonna say more than 2 words? Dallas... ummmmm huh? |
Quote:
Dallas -- CLEARLY trying to revive his career. When was the last time he produced a song? |

Dallas still must be on the "DrumLine" high. :o
LMAO note to Dallas....'it's ova..baby! Let it go!' :p |
YES!!!!! TWOP will be recapping ROAD TO STARDOM!!! This makes the show even more appealing to watch.

Saw the rerun last night couple of observations
-As predicted Missy rubbed me the wrong way -Were the lollipops and "Missy's Angels" necessary -No one on this show is over the top talented..with possible exception of the big boy -Teena Marie was a quiet judge -With or without the guitar that dude needs to go -Still not sure what Missy is actually looking for with these kids Still I'll watch until the end @CT4..I think TWOP will make it more interesting |
