do roommates count?

ThetaPrincess24 03-01-2004 07:11 PM

awwwwwww what cute lil babies!

My babies are SugarBaby, my 5 year old golden retriever/border collie mix and my cat Sassy who is a siamese/persian mix with torti markings.

My sister's cat, Roxy, lives here too.

When my sister and her cat moves out and I completely redo this house, I'll be getting some tropical fish and possibly a hamster, guinea pig or a bunny. No birds though because they stand on the side of their cages and poop and it gets in the floor :(

ztabchbum 03-01-2004 07:52 PM

thanks! I have a TON more pictures of the puppy but those are the best 2 I think.

OtterXO 03-01-2004 08:06 PM

Not the best picture of my dog, but it's the only one on the web! This is Madison, isn't she cute!

I don't have pictures of our fids (kids with fur or feathers)....

First we have a hyperactive, brain-damaged dark golden retriever named Duke. (looks just like the Bush Baked Beans Duke :). Yes he is really brain-damaged as he ran into a tree full speed trying to catch a frisbee when he was about a year old and knocked himself out for a very long time (like 30 minutes), now whenever he runs too much he has seizures. Poor baby.

Then we have a 10 lb shitzu mix that my oldest son rescued from the humane society. Her name is Nova and when she needs out or wants something, she spins in a circle on her hind legs.

We have two female guinea pigs that my husband brought home without permission. If anyone in Iowa wants them, they are yours! He didn't have permission to overload our ark!

We have one male grey pearl rabbit. His name is Whisper and my husband (the Noah wannabe) let my son get him for his birthday.

Did I say I am tired of rodents yet?

We have two wonderful cats. Thor, an 8 year old beige tabby, who is stuck to me like velcro everyday as I do my mom stuff! We have the cutest little black and white kitty named Rio-oki (rabbit) that keeps me so amused. She is the sweetest little thing. We had her mommy too, but Puffy went to kitty heaven last summer (we still miss her :(.

Lastly we have a caged-bound male cockatiel that is about 4 years old named Buster. He is content to talk to me all day long, but does not like to be handled. We rescued him from a pet shop that was going out of business, and he seemed waif like there. He loves to tell me "I love you" and "Hello, time to turn on the light" :)

I have a black and white shih-tzu named Jay Bug, he is the love of my life.

I don't know how to post picture here. But trust me, he is so cute.

4RunnerStar 03-01-2004 11:08 PM

i have a brown, black, and white shih-tzu that is absolutely my biggest baby because she is 4 years old and has never slept in the floor and has to be curled up beside a warm body or on the pillow to fall asleep. if we dont put her in the bed she cries till we get up to pick her up. she cries in her sleep a lot and we have to pick her up and hug her and lay her back down.

my dad has two GORGEOUS dalmatians. they are by far my favorite type of dog ever.

i hope to get a dal when i move out of the dorm.

AchtungBaby80 03-01-2004 11:45 PM

At home I have a TON of cats (we live in the country): Sparky, Muffin, Joey, Bluey, Patches, Phantom, Gimpy, Puddin, and Buster.

Here at college, I have my wonderful little hamster, Penelope! She's the greatest. :D She's a peach and white banded teddy bear hammy, and she's sooooo so cute. I'll post pics sometime.

APhiRattlerGal 03-02-2004 01:35 AM

1 Dog, his name is Eater. When he was little we was always eating everything from the floor...he's 14 now and still active as ever. I love my lil bundle of fur. :)

tinydancer 03-02-2004 02:06 AM

My fur children are 2 cats. Callie is a calico tabby and is very snooty. She likes Arby's roast beef. I have to buy an extra sammich just for her. Rosebud is a black and white Manx. He talks - says "hello" , "water" , and "Mom".

ADqtPiMel 03-02-2004 02:14 AM

my kitty...he is precious

thetalady 03-02-2004 02:30 AM

Ten pets... right now :D

Four dogs, 6 cats.... all "death row" refugees, humane society rejects, rescues or street urchins that found us.

I cook for them every week!

AOPIHottie 03-02-2004 02:42 AM

I have my cat Kricket, who is a 4 year old grey/black striped BABY. She is so very rotten. She loves to be held like a baby, and purrs so loud you can hear her across the room. My other "babies" are my GuyRoomies beautiful long haired tortieshell cat Georgia, who I love almost as much as Kricket, and GirlRoomies adorable long haired grey/white cat Elliott. GirlRoomie is NEVER here anymore, and I really want to adopt Elliott from her! he is my "babyboy".

cntryZTA5 03-02-2004 02:53 AM

I have two dogs....

a 6 year old yellow lab mix named Zoe and a 6 mos. old Shep. mix named Sydney--both are rescue dogs.

I also have a DMH cat named Aya....she's calico colored.

They are our "kids" for now. :D

Oh unfortunately I don't have any pictures at work of my babies.

4 Dogs
Tanner- Cocker Spaniel AKA TanMan and Little Man 3 years old this month
Cayenne-RidgeBack mix--She was a rescue from an abusive home. 7 years old.
Scooter--Lab Mix--Pound rescue because they thought she was sick when all she had was worms. 5 Years old
Jordy-Queensland Mix--Resue from a co-worker that was going to put her to sleep because she broke her leg. 13 years old

2 Cats
Will--Black and White--Walked into may husbands apartment as a kitten with eyes barely open. Bottle fed for about 1 month, thinks he is a dog. 4 years
Frisky-Calico--Farm cat that followed me home as a kid. She is very tiny..only weighs 3.5 lbs..17 years old.

2 Leopard Geckos from my brothers old work that were injured and not able to be sold. One is missing a tail and the other is missing a foot. They currently live in my mom's classroom because the kids love to feed them crickets and hold them.

3 tank bound koi that were saved from my pond when I realized a night creature was eating them a snack.

Here's our gorgeous girl, Ali, during Christmas 2003.

Ali's mom was rescued by Animal Friends in Pittsburgh, PA on 12-31-00, and Ali was born there on 2-28-01. We brought her home in April 2001 and she's been our 4th child ever since :)

GreekLetterGirl 03-03-2004 11:21 PM

I have 2 cats. One lives with me and one lives with my sisters.

My cat's name is Princess Kali or Kali. When I got her she was 5 weeks old, and was "sick". Her "sickness" turned in to pneumonia and she was in Kitty ICU. Her "sister" is Lilo.
I am thinking of getting another one just so Kali has a playmate since my sister will not give up custedy of the cat.

During the craze - there was one years ago I might've been too young to be aware of it at the time - did anyone actually buy a pet rock?

Do my kids count? No.....ok, well then I have a 10 1/2 year-old German Shepherd/ Lab/wolf mix named Ajax (she's a girl) and my Christmas present, a 6 month-old Yorkshire Terrier named Maximus, Max for short (a boy obviously.) I worried a little bit about bringing Max into the household with Ajax because she could basically eat him in one bite. She is about the size of a typical female lab, but she is a little bit "special" because of the wolf in her. We once witnessed her tear the throat out of a Pit Bull that threatened my husband....yes you read that right. She weighs about 55 lbs and is fast as hell. Maxi is only 5 lbs, up over a lb and 1/2 from when we first brought him home.....nothing more to say about that. But he is fearless! He attacks her whenever and wherever possible and they play like old buddies.....it's pretty cool. I always wanted a lap dog (or what I affectionately refer to as a purse dog) and Max rocks!

dekeguy 03-24-2004 10:47 AM

The family dog has to be the world's oldest St Bernard. The Vet tells me that the average life span of a Saint B is 10 to 12 years. Kanga is 24 coming up on 25. She is in good shape, good vision and hearing, lots of energy and all around amazing. The Vet says she is nothing short of "the exception that proves the rule"! All of the pets live at my Dad's place (Yellow Lab - Sis's dog, Australian Sheep dog mix - Brother's dog, and my lowest common denominator mix who is the grandson of my Cousin's dog brought home from Viet Nam in 1970. They have space to run and play and Kanga runs them ragged! Whatta dawg!

AlethiaSi 03-24-2004 11:01 AM

i have a kitty cat at my moms house that i found homeless in my neighborhood... her name is cleopatra- but we call her cleo and she's all black with bright green eyes and has short hair- she is my pride and joy- i absolutely adore her!

at my dads- i have a huge mutt of a dog- his name is shaggy- i don't know if anyone watches discovery channel- but we actually got him through a program called "cell dogs" where they train unruly dogs to become family puppies- :) he's a very good dog too- excellent with my baby sisters that are 4 and 3 years old!
