Drugstore Poll
I really thought that when Rite Aid went out of business in Ohio in 2001 or 2002 that it was gone all over, but I guess I was wrong.
What are the drugstores in your area? In Charlotte, we have CVS, ECKERD, and Walgreens. How come CVS is the only one with a MVP card. I love my CVS card. |
We have Rite-Aid, CVS, Eckerd's, and Walgreens here in the 'Cuse.
|
Rite-Aid, Eckerd's ( I think some stores will be closing. JCPenney has sold them or something like that), Walgreens :D
|
Walgreens and Osco's :)
|
In NYC we have (just to name a few):
Duane Reade Rite Aid CVS Walgreen |
Let's see we have....
CVS....my personal favorite open 24 hours Walgreens....least favorite they are so slow Osco.....they are so far and in between that I forget about them.. What is Eckerd's....sounds like a sandwich shop. |
CVS.....thats it!

There are like 80 gazillion Eckerd's in Charlotte. http://www.thermalfoams.com/photo_ga...oto/Eckerd.jpg |
There is an Eckerd's on the Westbank. I pass it EVERYDAY. There was another one on the WB, it may have closed down a few years ago.
There are Eckerd's in the BRa too. I know the "newer" one on Plank Road. The other stores may have closed down. K&B (all dat dayum PURPLE) was just as worse as Rite-Aid, IMO. :o |
There are CVS and Rite-Aid and a whole bunch of Walgreen's popping up. My preference is CVS because whatever I am looking for, 90% of the time, they have it and about 50% of the time, it is on sale (w/ a CVS card!)
|
Here in the Philly area we have Rite-Aid, CVS, Walgreens, & Eckerd.

Kim , I am with you on the Happy Harry store. Now if they would have said Drug Emporium we could have gave them that one since they are only way out there know. |
I forgot about Drug Emporium. . . there was one by old apartment in Columbus. They were a godsend being open 24 hours when a sista had a Ben and Jery's Vanilla Heath Toffee Crunch monkey on her back. :o
|
In the DC/MD/VA area, we got CVS (it used to be People's, who remembers them??), Eckerd (like 1 or 2), Rite-Aid, used to have Drug Emporium (that was my store). But a lot of folks go to Giant's, Safeway, Wal-Mart or Shoppers to get their drugs.
|
Walgreens and a lot of ma and pa drugstores. Just about all of the grocery stores and stores like Target have a pharmacy in the back.
|
Well here in A-K-Ron we have Walgreens, CVS and Rite Aid. I tend to shop at CVS if I need however I will go to walgreens if they have a sale or something.
|
We have CVS, RiteAid, Drug Emporium (only a veeeerry few of them) and Walgreens here in Derby City!
Here The only stores that are 24hour is Walgreens. I remember when I think RiteAid used to be called by another name...I think it was SuperRx....Maybe that was only in Louisville.... Oh well.... |

OMG!!! I totally forgot about Drug Emporium!! That used to be my store!! How could I forget them. Why did they close down? We have CVS & Rite Aid. I have seen the Eckerd sign, but never paid it any attention. |

I'm not in Charlotte, but Rite Aid bought all the Eckerds in the Carolinas. Rite Aid is still big up North. I remember having Rite Aid in Charleston back in the day, but Kerr bought them out. Now they are coming back.
I'm a long time Eckerd shopper. I hate that Rite Aid is taking over. I didn't like them when they were in Charleston the first go around. |

IN Birmingham we have
Walgreens- Only 24 hr CVS - I think they bought what used to be Big B Drugstore Rite Aid -bought all of the Eckerds here mom & pop kind of apothecaries Then stores that have pharmacies that I know of: Wal-Mart Target Fred's Brunos (grocery store) Publix WinDixie (I think they have a pharm) |
All of our Eckerds were bought out by CVS, with a Walgreens and a Rite-Aid down the street from each other.

I guess JCPenney decided to give their Eckerd division the old heave-ho! :) |
In NYC, the predominant drugstore is Duane Reade. It's expensive, the service isn't that great, nor is the selection, but it's EVERYWHERE. Most people have a love-hate relationship with it.
Other drugstores include CVS, Rite-Aid, and the occasional Walgreen's. Most of the independent places are being closed out by the Duane Reades popping up everywhere. |

Yeah, I have seen that too. I am not really a big fan of Eckerd or Rite Aid. When I lived in SC we had CVS (it used to be Revco back in the day) everywhere and I loved them. Now in NC there are a ton of Walgreen stores near my house, so that has become my store of choice. |
