Pi Phi Prayers

I thought it would be good if we started a prayer thread...

Please pray for my big big sister (she graduated in '02). Her mother died yesterday of a brain aneuryism. :( :(

carnation 02-28-2004 10:31 PM

I will do that, breathesgelatin...a death from an aneurysm is so sudden and sad.

Y'all...please pray for my husband and me. We have filed suit against someone who has done something terrible.

suzipiphi 02-29-2004 03:29 AM

This is an awesome thread! I will pray for both of your loved ones and yourselves.

Also please pray for my brother and his family, he started drug rehab last week and its really tough for his family since he's in Florida for a month.

Please pray for my mother, who has been sick since the holidays, but is very slowly starting to recover.

Lady Pi Phi 03-15-2004 11:39 AM

I don't usually pray and I'm not religious, but for those of you that do can you please say a prayer of thanks that my friend was not killed in his car accident.

I just found out that a chapter member's father passed away this Saturday, apparently from a heart attack. She was my pledge sister and we're very good friends. Please pray for her and her family.

Prayer requests

My PiPhi sister Corinna has a degenerative bone disease and for the second time in late May, the tiny bones in her trachea began to break because of a cough she caught and she had to be hospitalized right around finals. Please keep her in your prayers so that she may weather this disease in the best possible health :)

I see that this was posted in February...so the timing is about right. I's suggest picking up the book "Motherless Daughters: The Legacy of Loss," by Hope Edelman, for your Big Sister now. I got it a year after my mother's death right around a hard time in my life (my college graduation). It'd be great to give your big sister with the holidays coming up. It was a huge part of my healing process and I think every young adult who has lost their mother (at any time in her life, but especially in young adulthood) should read it.

Please pray for me and a few of my sisters. We went through a hard time over the summer and now our relationship is strained and not really there anymore. Please just pray that we can work things out and remain friends :(

Please pray for my father-in-law. He survived one bout with lung cancer but it came back and he just finished chemo. He'll find out this month if it worked. He doesn't want to do chemo again if it didn't.

Speechpath 01-02-2005 05:24 PM

Say a small prayer for my sister in law, she's pregnant and due at the end of Feb but is in the hospital and they are trying to keep her from going into labor. They hope she can make it at least another 3 weeks.

carnation 01-02-2005 07:54 PM

I'll do that. Four weeks early wouldn't be bad at all, if she can hang in there for 3 more!

My father-in-law found out that his cancer is still the same size. He'll begin a stronger oral medication this week. :( I'm worried about him...he's 82. We love him so much. Please pray for this wonderful, selfless man!

Prayers on the way....

my S-I-L got out of the hospital today, still on full bedrest but doing better. The goal now is to try to make it until Feb. 14th and have a healthy, valentines baby!

PiPhiGirl2005 01-22-2005 12:35 PM

Please pray for the student body at Hillsdale. A freshman who was a member of the football team and had just been initiated into Delta Sigma Phi took his own life last night. Many of our Pi Phi sophomores and new members knew him, and his girlfriend is on my cheerleading team.

carnation 02-22-2005 11:05 PM

My father-in-law had another X-ray today and the tumor still hasn't shrunk. The doctors are stopping treatment for now because the chemo is doing awful things to him. He can barely drag himself around and we've picked him up out of the floor 4 times this week when he's fallen over. It seems like if the cancer doesn't kill him, the chemo will.

Please pray for him again!

Speechpath 02-23-2005 08:40 AM

^ sorry Carnation! hope things will soon get better for him!

in some good news, my sister in law had her baby and he is happy and healthy.

erniegurl00 05-13-2005 09:23 PM

I just found out that my 2nd cousin's (who is just like an aunt to me) husband died from a heart attack earlier today. He was very young and left behind two children around my age. :(

Silverblue 10-27-2005 11:36 PM

Please pray for the family of a friend of mine who died unexpectedly on Tuesday. She leaves behind a husband and son who were her world.

ChinaBuffet 03-05-2006 09:25 AM

sisters, keep my family in your prayers

I don't know if any of you still read this ever.
Last night my aunt went to check on her son before she went to bed; he was laying in vomit, eyes open, breathing but non-responsive. He's 3 years old. He normally throws a fit when he gets sick as any child does but he was quiet for most of the evening. They called an ambulance. When they got to the hospital, he had another seizer. this was around 12:30 am. They still havent gotten any results of what caused it yet.
Please pray for my cousin, Simon, and our family that loves him so much.
I'm on my way to the hospital now.
Thanks girls.
