My mama's name is Dixie Lee! :) We're both in the UDC, too!

maggieaxid 02-20-2004 02:55 PM

44% yankee-- guess the south has had an effect on me!

astroAPhi 02-20-2004 02:59 PM

LOL, I can so tell I'm from Chi-CAH-go. :D

Lady Pi Phi 02-20-2004 03:02 PM

52% Dixie (barely in the Dixie Category) and I'm from Canada!

KillarneyRose 02-20-2004 03:03 PM

58% Dixie. I guess due to the time I've spent living in Maryland and Virginia?

Jill1228 02-20-2004 03:04 PM

60% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

AOPIHottie 02-20-2004 03:38 PM

juniorgrrl 02-20-2004 03:46 PM

NutBrnHair 02-20-2004 03:49 PM

My results:

93% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

FeeFee 02-20-2004 03:58 PM

52% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category

I'm from New Yawk w/ peeps in the South. :p :p

Taualumna 02-20-2004 03:58 PM

This Canadian girl got: 64% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Xylochick216 02-20-2004 03:58 PM

66% Dixie :)

Which could be surprising because, although I've lived in the South my entire life, my whole family is from New England so I talk more like them.

jharb 02-20-2004 04:26 PM

63% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

I was born in GA, raised in OH and am at school in Indiana! I just keep moving north! lol!:p

AchtungBaby80 02-20-2004 05:23 PM

71% Dixie. That's respectable...you should've heard me before I took choir classes to, er, refine my accent. :)

Kevin 02-20-2004 05:24 PM

62% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

OUlioness01 02-20-2004 05:39 PM

60% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Most of my answers were common to the midwest, so i guess the midwest is more dixie than yankee

TigerLilly 02-20-2004 06:30 PM

Weee! 92% Dixie! (Is General Lee your father?)

You know it!

Pretty good considering that I've only actually spent about 9 years over the course of my life living in the South.

lauralaylin 02-20-2004 06:36 PM

Only 48% Yankee.

I'm sort of annoyed at #15. Bubbler in MA? No way, it's totally an RI thing not a MA thing.

WCUgirl 02-20-2004 06:37 PM

52% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category. Hmmmm....a little weak for someone who was born and raised in the south.

What I want to know is...how can you live life WITHOUT a brew thru? Those have got to be the greatest inventions EVER!!! :D

Tippiechick 02-20-2004 06:47 PM

97%: Is General Lee your father?

:D

sairose 02-20-2004 06:48 PM

70% Dixie. I guess living in rural Arkansas for 10 years has taken its toll on me. :D

Sistermadly 02-20-2004 06:51 PM

79% (Dixie). That is a pretty strong Southern score!

No surprise there!

tinydancer 02-20-2004 06:54 PM

84% Dixie - and if you could hear me talk you would know I have lived in Texas all my life!

sugar and spice 02-20-2004 07:34 PM

58% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Which is funny considering I've spent my whole life in Wisconsin and Minnesota and I have NO family in the South; we're all New England and Midwestern.

I had answers all over the place on the quiz though -- some Great Lakes, some Northeast, some Southeast, some West coast.

AOX81 02-20-2004 07:40 PM

49% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

carnation 02-20-2004 08:48 PM

um ACTUALLY I've lived in MA my whole life and I've always called it a "bubbler." It's definately a southeastern MA-Cape Cod/ RI thing. I didn't hear "drinking fountain" until I went to a competition in Western/Northern MA and they thought I was nuts for calling it a bubbler.

Me too....my mom must have raised me up a true midwesterner (here in not-so-sunny California!) :D

My results:
53% (Dixie). Barely into the Dixie category.

Optimist Prime 02-20-2004 09:35 PM

48% Yankee

AlphaSigOU 02-20-2004 10:24 PM

63% Dixie, from many years 'behind enemy lines'. But there are occasions where I'll get my New Yawk accent up... :)

AXJules 02-20-2004 10:26 PM

50% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

Wha? I've never been anywhere else!!!!

navane 02-20-2004 10:34 PM

How bizarre!

My score:

100% (Dixie). Is General Lee your father?

I was born and raised in Southern California.....my mother was from Gary, Indiana and my father is from Chicago, Illinois! I sound nothing like a "Dixie" Southerner! I am confused!

Then again, San Diego technically *is* the most south and west you can get as far as the US mainland goes.....maybe that's what they mean by "Southern"? Southern California ??

.....Kelly :)

wishuponastar 02-20-2004 10:34 PM

64% (Dixie). A definitive Southern score!

Southern as in SoCal? 'cause that's where I was born and raised!

CatStarESP4 02-20-2004 10:39 PM

45% (Yankee). Barely into the Yankee category.

I thought it would be at least 50% since I was born and raised in the Northeast.
