Maybe I've been in the closet or had my head in the sand but I didn't know that Kenny Chesney was greek... has anyone heard his new cd with "Keg in the CLoset"? It mentions being a Lamb and the jacket talks about his time as a brother.... I guess someone has mentioned this before, but I thought to share my amazement! How cool!

I didn't know that, either. My sister knew him back when he first started out, but I never paid any attention.

He's a Lambda Chi from Tennessee. I'm not sure if UT-Knoxville.

lifesaver, one of our resident LXAs has met some of his brothers, including his big/lil (i can never remember which)

Kenny C was from ETU! Johnson City Tenn. By the way my Relative is not buried there, He is Buried in Greenville, down the road a peice! Oh, Andrew Johnson if anyone knows of him!;)

Kenny Chesney is not a Lambda Chi, he is actually a PIKE. Just thought I would clear that up.

What?? Kenny Chesney is most definitely a lambda chi and not a pike. . . the chapter at our school always mentions this whenever his songs are on the radio.

I used to date a Lambda Chi from UT-Knoxville. All of my guy friends from hs are LXA's there too.

sorry for the mix up, I could have sworn that the PIKES at my school had said the he was an alum.

Again, he (Kenny Chesney) is indeed a fully initiated member of the bond.

He was initiated into Iota Omicron Zeta (East Tennessee State University) in Johnson City, TN (About 75 miles NE of Knoxville and 45 miles west of Asheville, NC). He was ititiated about 1990 and I'll get his zeta number (chapter member number)for ya'll. He never graduated ETSU, and left to make his mark in Nashville circa 1992. ETSU has since given him an honorary degree and he now does commercials for ETSU in the Johnson City area.

I have a friend who was a brother there at about the same time and Brother Chesney was his Kappa. Apparently the brothers also gave him much grief about his music, lol.

I have seen the house he mentions in the song. While it is no longer the chapter house (they are in different digs), its really cool to knwo theres a song about that house - and my fraternity.

Also, the song has been quite the topic of conversation at headquarters this week. Officially, Lambda Chi risk management policies strictly forbid the use of kegs and mass containers of alcohol (since 90), more than one staffer has admitted that they think its cool that LXA is mentioned in the song.

I totally understand about the risk management thing... but how cool is it that your glo is apart of a song. I know for me that as I was listening here at work I had to replay the song and then go to the cd jacket to make sure I had heard it right...

The cd jacket does not contain the words to the song but bios about the songs and he talks about his experience. I wished that more artist did this because it makes the songs more meaningful... ya'know!

I have a really gross story about Kenny Chesney. My friend works security guard at Rupp, well, he was backstage for two of his concerts. I'm sure other guys in music do stuff like this, heck even women.... but, its still really gross so now when I see him....I think only of this story. :(

Plus, he's a UT fan.... I'm a UK fan.... it just doesn't work. ;)

Okay, I wrote out the story as clean as I could get it.... but I was still worried. SO let me touch on the details : pleasing oneself, the girl who gets the most of "it" on her wins, the girl who doesn't loses. The custoidions (however, You spell it) cleaned "stuff" off of the lights, the ceilings, the faucets, the floor, etc. One girl left "covered" and crying that she was dumped. B/c she was "covered" the police took her away.
