Snaps

I was thinking of ways to stir up some traffic in our forum and thought that a thread applauding ourselves might do the trick. In my chapter we snapped anytime we agreed with, or supported/encouraged a sister. So if something fantastic has happened to you today, this week, this month, write it down and snap yourself!

I'll start!

A new guy started at work and I have made a really good effort to show him around, include him and teach him the ways of the store!

OK, I'll play!

I went fishing last week in Key West, FL and caught 12 fish! http://www.suburbia.com.au/~morpheus/smilies/clap.gif

I may have landed a job. They've been trying to get a hold of me this week a couple times (but because of my work schedule, I haven't been able to catch them at the right time). The only thing is if I do get offered the job, I will be negotiating my pay and some other things like reimbursements and vacation!

So here's to hoping I can decide what I want to do...be it take the job or decline it!

I successfully took the MCAT last Saturday! The test went really well, and I think my score will be good. Cross your fingers for me, I find out in June.

I am sure lots of you ladies have done wonderful things. You should tell us about it...

Lil_ChiO_Lady 06-28-2004 11:59 AM

I got really good grades on my tests for my summer class, which is soon to be over next week..YAY!This is my first year doing it but, it is soo worth it.
Also, my best friend from home will be visting me this August.I haven't seen her for a year now.We were always inseperable(sp?) and i miss her alot.

KellyB369 06-28-2004 04:21 PM

Lil Chi O, that's great about your tests! And visits from old friends are always the best!

I think the interview I had on Friday went really well and hopefully I will be hearing from the HR person this week to set up a second interview - this time with the actual hiring manager. I am definitely keeping my fingers crossed on this one!

ChiOCrazy19 06-28-2004 04:25 PM

I WENT LINE DANCING LAST NIGHT AND TAUGHT SOME OF MY FRIENDS HOW TO LINE DANCE TOO! IT WAS A GREAT TIME IN WONDERFUL COMPANY OF FRIENDS.

*SNAPS* :D

Snaps to lil chi o lady!

My MCAT scores came and I rocked the house!! I'm totally happy. Now we have to cross our fingers for a medical school accepting me (I didn't get of my wait lists last time, so this is a worrisome probablility). :D :D

Lil_ChiO_Lady 06-28-2004 11:00 PM

KellyB369 and XOMichelle- Thanks alot!

Good Luck on finding a med school to get into.I'm sure if you did really well, you should have no problems..I would never be able to do anything in medicine, maybe a pharmacist but other than that..no way..i get freaked out by blood and needles..I am such a wimp.:(

xo_kathy 06-29-2004 10:35 AM

Nice job Michelle! You might be the only person I've ever heard who was happy with their MCAT scores!

On the "snaps" front - question for you all -

We have a member of the NYC alum chapter who said they didn't snap, they did this sort of hand waving by their head thing (a little hard to describe :p). Also, we have a member from Psi chapter (cool, huh) and she said they don't snap either, (though they don't do the head wave either). What does/did your chapter do?

KellyB369 06-29-2004 11:05 AM

My collegiate chapter snaps. I'm sure my alum chapter does too because it's mostly girls from that chapter, but I haven't been to many meetings so I'm not sure.

XOMichelle 06-29-2004 11:26 AM

We generally snaped, unless we wanted to be loud! In that case, we would clap and cheer.

Thanks Kathy! This is the second time I took the test, so it was a really big accomplishment for me to do well. My GPA isn't the greatest, so I'm hoping this will help "prove" that I can do the work to admissions committees. :-)

ChiOCrazy19 07-01-2004 09:32 AM

Wow. I thought that it was like part of the whole Chi-O tradition to snap. It's interesting to hear some of these other things. So we Rho Lambda girls are definite snappers. If we agree usually a one handed snap, and if we really really agree we do a 2 handed snap. Nothing fancy.:)

KellyB369 07-08-2004 01:48 PM

I (think) I did really well on an interview I had last week with a major bank here on the east coast. I interviewed with the hiring manager for 45-50 mins and then the team lead and another employee for about 30 mins. Unfortunately I won't hear anything until next week though because the manager is out on vacation this week. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.
