Scorecard for major awards


Album of the year: speakerboxx/the love below by outkast, although I really wish it were Evanescence

Song of the year: Dance with my Father. Due to his health problems lately and the academy's love for Luther, he's pretty much a sure thing.

Anyone else????

I'm going to miss 30 minutes of the Grammy's due to Sex and the City (missed last week's episode because of the Super Bowl so I can't miss this week's). Here are some of my predictions:

Record of the Year:
Either Outkast's "Hey Ya" or Eminem's "Lose Yourself"

Album of the Year:
Outkast's Speakerboxxx/The Love Below
...I was surprised to see Justin Timberlake's album nominated. Didn't it come out back in 2002? Plus, I didn't think it was that good.

Best New Artist:
50 Cent

Song of the Year:
Luther Vandross' "Dance With My Father"

I was pretty sure 'Lose Yourself' was released in 2002, but I guess the people in charge do it how they want

Beyonce and Prince was just kinda strange.....

Wasn't too thrilled with the Beatles tribute- that high note killed my ears.

Christina's performance was incredible.

White Stripes is on right now... they're okay, i'm not too into them.

I do like all the performances this year... much prefer this format. Although I do miss the opening monologue. There are so many things that could've been made fun of this year!

I'm not a fan, but Beyonce just sang the ISHT out of that song.

too many performances/lifetime achievement awards, not enough real award presentations.

I was feeling the Outkast/funk medley...until George Clinton and a SCARRRYYY guy with a long fake plastic nose (anyone see him?)started dancing around yelling "SKEET SKEET SKEET!!!"

I'll be in my bed having nightmares if anyone needs me.

ARg.... I dislike the Grammies. They're so commercialized. I guess all awards shows are. :(

New Artist: Evanescence.

There goes their career. New Artist Award = Kiss of Death

I liked Prince and Beyonce together. Her solo performance was my favorite. I love when she sings that song live. And she had a freakin bird at end! Wow, I'm easily impressed. Christina sounded amazing too. What was with 50 Cent coming on stage with Evanescence? Justin needs to shut up about the "wardrobe malfunction" already. I'm tired of "Hey Ya" but that performance was cool. Faith Hill looked great.

No Stranger than Janet and Justin. I'm Happy that OutKast got the Album of the Year. Good for them. I was kinda surprised that 50 cent didn't get the best new artist award. Hightlight of the night : Luther Vandross got "Song of the Year". very cool.:cool:

If the sound wasn't acting up on my TV, I probably would have appreciated the tribute to Luther more. I'm glad that the sound got clear when Celine did "Dance With My Father".

Don't really care for Evanescence, but I do agree that 50 should have won Best New Artist.

There was a big sound malfunction when Celine sang. Somebody lost a job over that. It was nice to hear good singers. Christina sounded really great as did Martina McBride. That Outkast song "Hey Ya" is fun. :)

In case anyone cares what I thought:

OutKast's Hey ya performance was fun.

The tribute to funk was ok...I love love love Robert Randolph it-that was the best part of that whole bit

Timberlake's was just ok.

Beyonce: I am not really a fan...she has a great voice & she looked good though...I kinda liked the set she performed on too. I actually missed the one of her & prince.

Christina Aguilera's performance blew. BORING. same ole thing.

White Stripes: I am thier newest fan.

I love DAVE MATTHEWS!

Sarah Maclachlan was ggood...I liked that Allison Kraus performed with her.

Poor Celine Dion...I bet she was bitching backstage after that one. I thought she covered beautifully though.


I actually thought there were to many lifetime acheivement awards too...they don't always do that do they?

I was impressed by a lot of the performances. Christina did a great job. The Beatles' tribute was ok; I think I have a new crush on Pharrell. :) Martina McBride sounded great. I thought Celine did an excellent job despite the sound problems; she looked beautiful too.

I LOVED Prince and Beyonce! I love Prince no matter what though, and I thought her voice sounded really nice with his. And I loved how he said "Don't hate us 'cuz we fabulous!" at the end! :D

Christina was ok. I mean the girl CAN sing, that's for sure.

Beyonce's second song - "I love you I love you I love you...." we got it. Do you have to say it 1500 times? I thought it was boring and I thought the dove was stupid!!!!!

Beatles tribute - eh...and I think all those men performing are really talented, but it just didn't do it for me.

Funk medley - eh...Earth, Wind and Fire looked so old! :(

And 50 Cent walking across the stage after he didn't win. Sit your a*s back down you immature sore loser! If someone had done that to him, he would have knocked them off the stage! What a jerk!

HANDS OFF!!!!! Find someone else to have a crush on. I've already claimed Pharrell. :mad: :p :mad: :p

I think we'll both have to push aside millions of other girls to get to him. :)

I do have a slightly bigger crush on Josh Duhamel so I'll let you have Pharrell.

I didn't see that. I read in the paper that there was a brief exchange of words between 50 cent and everscence.

It was probably edited since the tape delay was 5 minutes-
The only thing we at home saw was her going...Come on, what did I do? It's my first time...
Then that attention whore pranced across the stage and sat back down. Nifty.

To me, music of today is more for the biggest sexpot or explosive shocker/moment than it is really about the actual music. Why can't there be more music about what matters in the world and the country than the "all-we-want-to-do-is-have-sex-and-flaunt-it" theme there is now? I know it's all about the money and sales but why do people have to buy into that crap?

I was happy to see Sting. I am always happy to see Sting. :D :cool: :)

I missed a lot fo the grammys but i did see:

Martina mcbride was awesome

Justin and that sad sad fake apology

But i was really miffed whenthey had sound dysfunction when celine did Dance with my father.....i love that song.....

and yes to THANK YOU to whoever told her to dye her hair back to brown....that blonde ......yuck!
