Sad/Bad Mood Thread
 

I know that there are days when everyone is either having a bad day or feeling sad/having a bad mood day. So I figure that everyone could write about their's here.

Mine, lately I have been in a kind of a sad/bad mood. It's probably due to the fact that my period will probably start soon so my moods have been kind of all over the place. Also, Valentine's Day is coming up and I just feel a little sad because I don't have anyone. I am also out of balance with school and my sleep.

I'm going to try to pamper myself more and take some time to relax during the week.

Oooooh! This is a good idea! Sometimes us girls just need to vent. I'll start...
Although my chapter had elections today, we had greekweek at noon and when it ended we did elections which took 5 hours! I AM SO HAPPY THE DAY IS OVER!! headache city!

I'm tired. I stayed up way too late last night trying to win my boyfriend's gift off Ebay. Good thing is I got it. Bad thing is...I had to get up and go to work after getting 4.5 hours of sleep. Another thing that is starting to tick me off is my makeup. I put it on around 6:30 am, and it's totally worn off by noon (if not sooner). I seriously need someone to teach me all the correct techniques and I need to get "better quality" makeup. Okay, that's all for now. So sleepy..............:(

I went to the best pining party last night. At first I was not going to stay long because I did not have any of my sisters to party with (not one went to the party). You might be saying did you call all of your sisters? Yes I did I called all of them to see if they wanted to go out and they were going to stay in because they need to sleep. (They didn't go out last night either)

Everyone was there from Delta Zeta, delta chi, zta, ast, pikes, sig eps, sae, alpha xi delta, pi delta alpha, lambda chi alpha, non-greeks, BGC and me one little phi sigma sigma. The pinning party was at a bar. My sisters excuse were that they were tired, sick, (I understand the ones who are out of town) but the rest did not want to go because we are having a mixter tommorrow night with the lambda chi's. What also drove me nuts is the fact that a few (maybe three or four) of my sisters were with the same fraternity that they hang out with all the time last night because they are groupies, instead of meeting more people.

It seems like I am always at the big parties because they do not want to go out. I'm so pissed because they don't really want to go to our mixer with the lambda chi's they really want to go to another bar and party with the hockey players (which is at the same bar I was at last night)

They talk about getting good social PR or social interation PR with around campus. You do not know how many people were like we're are you're sisters. Oh they did not want to come out.

Sorry that this was a little long but I was just a little upset. Thank you for letting me vent

Ok, dumb question, but what is a pining party?

Maybe you should have a heart-to-heart with your sisters and tell them how you feel... Sometimes people don't realize what they're doing and how it's affecting other people.

I have some bad news

I spent way too much money in spring break and now I have to put myself on a budget. Also, my car insurance company decided to drop me because of the accident I had last semester. So I purchased more and boy did it increase because of 1 accident. I had to pick up more hours at my job to try to get more money.

I'm very grateful I have my job or I would be in trouble.

Hell-o ladies. I'm in the same boat with annice22 with my Chapter. Nobody goes to ANYTHING...EVER! *pulls hair out* Drives me insane. This includes mandatory meetings for chairmen and such, too (*flaming!*). It seems like nobody wants to fess up that it was their responsibility to go or to find a replacement to go. *sigh*

Next year I will be Archon, which scares me. I know that everything from this year will come back to haunt me like crazy next year. I might have to change my username on Greekchat to 'stressed_archon'. LOL.

I don't have any advice for annice22, wish I did. Sorry girl! I've been to many big parties by myself or with two of my sisters, while we're surrounded by entire chapters of Tri Sigma's and Delta Zeta's. I don't know how they do it...but I'd love to know.

Hi There,

Not any bad or sad news but just wanted to make a suggestion that seems to be working for us regarding committees and getting them to meet. We now have it scheduled during our meetings that about 20 minutes of the Vice Archon's report is actually committees breaking off and meeting. The VA announces which committees need to meet based up the chairs notifying her or the particular events coming up. This has helped our committees start to run so much smoother which of course makes life so much easier on everyone.

Trying to get to chapter meetings, committee meetings, working 40 hours, plus school talk about a juggling act and for me add in eboard meetings. Lots of time management going on here.

I just came back from our meeting and they were doing sapphire sister of the year and I did not even get nominated. As much as I have done for this sorority I can not wait until I graduate because I am so sick and tired of this being a popularity contest. You know what I don't need their appreciation. I name myself sapphire sister.

I'm not sure if I want to even go to formal or leave early before they do the nominations.

I just came from a date auction and I feel so sad because I only went for $10.00. I feel like the ugliest person in the world . Not even any of my sisters even bid on me. I'm not sure I even want to go to formal on friday because why should hang around people who don't even appreciate me.:( :( :(

That is why I don't really approve of date auctions even though my chapter does one....I hope you weren't obligated to be sold since that would violate policy....

Alright girls, I need some cheering! I'm all bumed about this stupid boy and it's all I can think about. Why are boys so stupid? So post your funniest "Guys are stupid and here's why" stories to cheer me up!

jess, my momma always said... "boys are shit!" live it, learn it, love it - cuz that's how it's just gonna be! haha

girl, i have so many "boys are stupid and here's why" stories, i wouldn't even know where to begin!

so instead of stories, i'll list some of the things boys do...

they smell funny.

they scratch areas that have never seen the light of day.

they would rather get a root canal then go shopping (what the hell is that about?!)

they slap each other's butts when they score a touch down or get a homerun or get "that hot girl's" phone number... weirdos! :p

they crush beer cans on their foreheads - sometimes with the beer still in the can! haha

they love their car more than they love their life/mom/girlfriend/sports team/etc.

they will know the stats of every single professional, collegiate, high school and pop warner/little league sports team for the past ten years, but will never remember birthdays, anniversaries, or any other important dates.

they think it's funny to burp/fart really loud - and then blow it in your direction.

they think that buffalo wings and pizza are staples in the food pyramid.

they will use their fingers as drum sticks and drum on any and everything - for hours on end!

they think that if it's broken that they can fix it with duct tape and wd-40.

they will try to dance... but we all know that the only guy that knows how to really dance is the gay one.

they think that their pick up lines actually woe us over.




ah, man, i can go on and on! but i have to work. so i hope those bring a smile to your face, jess!

let me tell you something - any boy that makes you feel sad or "bummed" isn't the right boy... because when you find the right one - you will not be able to stop smiling!! at least, that's what i'm told! hahaha :D

I just came across this thread and honestly I was happy I read it cause' Im going through the same thing and Im gonna start believing that when you meet the right guy he won't stop making me smile!!

I just had to grumble here since I'm locked up in the house for the next couple of days. The right side of my throat started to feel swollen on Monday but didn't hurt. By Tuesday morning it was swollen and killing me. I went to the doctor and turns out I've got strep throat. I haven't had strep throat since I was a teenager. This is no fun

Since I'm still contagious she's keeping me off work for three days and got me on antibiotics. I'm tired of eating yogury, pudding and sherbert but those are the only things I can eat without too much pain when swallowing.

Sorry to hear that Carolyn, I hope you have a fast recovery!

bad news
 

i found out last night, that my grandpa (who's 88) has gone blind in his left eye. :( he's had glaucoma for some time now, and it's gotten progressively worse, but the doctor doesn't think that's what caused this. he's also experienced bouts of really high blood pressure for the past month, so that may be the reason. but whatever the reason is, please keep him in your thoughts for me. thanks!

the ophthalmologist said that one of my grandpa's nerve in his eye had a seizure. it's irreversible. but my grandpa seems to be ok with it. i think he's prepared himself for it (going blind) because of the glaucoma. so let's just hope that nothing more happens!

I am still looking for a job and it is really frustrating to not hear anything. I'm intelligent, articulate and energized. I really do not understand why people I went to school with have jobs when they're only job was getting drunk almost everyday of the week.

yeah so just to make a long story short...a certain sorority on our campus tried to steal three of our new members which is just not cool. yeah...thats all i'll say because otherwise it might be edited out haha :mad:

my grandpa passed away last night, so i'm going to be a lil mia for a few days.

I am still looking for a full time job and I am starting to feel frustrated and a little sad. I know that I am smart and I should be out there working. I want to so bad. If I had the money I would start my own business.

I just read a bulletin from Wendy on myspace that our Sister Neddie from the Theta Upsilon Chapter at the University of LaVerne passed away this morning.

I'm not sure if anyone remembers, but they were selling blue ribbon pins with her name on them at LTS this year - to raise money for (I believe) the leukemia-lymphoma society.

Let's keep her family in our thoughts and prayers, as I'm sure this is a very hard time for them right now.

Thank you Beth for posting this.

Neddie was a truly amazing young woman and I feel lucky to have shared the time that I did with her. She showed a level of strength that is not often seen in a 20 y/o. Even as the leukemia progressed she did all she could to be with her sisters. She was there for back to school retreat, Fall initiation, bonfires and lunches. I am grateful for her efforts to be there because while it helped her at the time to be with those she loved, it helps me now as I remember her the way she deserves to be remembered. Strong, loving, funny, open minded, compassionate, living life on her own terms even as she left us.

The chapter had ordered more pins sold at LTS and I am sure they will order more when those are gone. The money raised will be donated to the Leukemia/Lymphoma Society in Neddie's name.
Thank you to everyone who has offered their thoughts and prayers. For the chapters in SoCal, thank you for your support. It is greatly appreciated. Information for the services will be sent out through email and, most likely, myspace.
