Kayla my dearest lil lil...I should probably ask this in PM but I really don't know of any other Rio greeks that come on here so I will just come out and say it. Are the 7 AMB's real pledges or underground pledges and are these freshman that don't know better? Also just pm who all is getting who I am soooo nosy lol.

May I suggest that you two take this conversation to Private Message? Just because you are the only two from your school who post does not mean you are the only two who read the boards. While you may not particularly care who reads what you post, it is taking quite an unkind turn.

I didn't go there but I'm pretty familiar with the institution of which they are speaking, and...well, I really don't think posts like that would cause any more trouble than what already goes on. I must say, I'm surprised at some of those numbers, but not for the reasons mentioned above...

wasn't trying to start trouble. trust me my old campus is weird when it comes to greeks. they already don't want greeks there. but kayla is helping us at least not die out. LONG LIVE GREEKS IN RIO!

Our final rush event is on Wednesday and Pref Party is on Sunday. Rushees get their bids on Tuesday and the following Wednesday is bid acceptance! I can't wait to see who our Alpha Beta class!

we have 6 girls that are interested but by next week we will find out who will actually be a pledge.........crossing fingers!!!

An update:
Today we had our second round of invitation only events. We had 17 girls show up and they are all so amazing. We are inviting them all back to Pref. Hope a lot of them come out.

Today was Pref night. We had 15 girls come, and one girl called and said that she wanted to come but she couldn't make it. So we only lost one girl which is really good. She's one who from the start we could tell was very iffy about us. We ended up giving bids to 15 girls. Tuesday night they get their bids and Wednesday is bid day!!! Only 3 more days! Wahoo!!!!

uh why are you doing a long bid day processes? i thought you are local?? explain to me the process you are doing with the pledges....... I thought it was this .....people want to pledge you have interview, next day or same night you tell them okay you would like them to join and they tell you they accept or decline the same day/night you bid for them........ but is the process different for you? what do you guys do???

Even though we're a local we follow all NPC bylaws and we do NPC rush with all of the sororities at our school. Our school sets the dates and regulations for rush and we all have to follow them. Even Sigma Gamma Rho has to follow it. If we wanted to do rush any other way, the school would just tell us to go off campus.

We had our first night of rush last night, and we had 9 girls come! We have 3 more who are coming tonight that had class last night. If we keep them all, we will more than double our chapter. (we have 10 active members.) We're excited!

The Greek Life Director came last night, which is a really big deal. It wouldn't have happened when we were founded. We also had one of the founding sisters come, which was really cool.

Everyone said they'd be back tonight, and they are all really sweet girls, stellar GPA's, and the majority are freshman, but we have a couple of transfers and 1 senior. Tonight we're going roller skating, tomorrow we're doing an ice cream social and voting, and then Thursday is Bid Day!

i went last night for kicks and my grandsis' are running the week. we had 8 last night. it's a good conservative number. we are already at 50 or so and we aren't losing that many girls to graduation/alumna status this semester.

We just had bid acceptance. We got 8 awesome girls! I'm so happy!!! :D Congrats to our Alpha Beta Class!!!! :)

We've had 11 coming, and I know one girl's not coming back until next semester - she's worried about scheduling. Sh has 2 jobs, and a full class load, so I don't blame her! However, the other 10 are VERY interested. Tonight is the last night!

We extended 8 bids, and all 8 accepted! We now have 18 members, and we began the year with 5 last fall. Congratulations to the Omicron class! My "rush crush" accepted her bid, and I've already threatened violence if I don't get her as a little... ;)

Today was our Bid Day, and we give the girls 24 hours to accept their bids...but we extended 7, and 5 so far have said yes...they're all beautiful girls, and I'm so excited! :)

8 girls are interested, Tonight will be our first pledging orientation aka Bid day, after that they will have to let me know by Wed if they want to pledge then there is a deaf event on wed night where all the sisters and hopefully future pledges will be :)

Later on maybe next semester, we will have money hopefully and be able to throw our own events!!! I wish I could invite the girls to my house in Stockton but its like 45 minutes away :( but maybe later I will have BBQ or something in the spring cuz we have a pool and we can go swimming. BTW our sorority has a no alcohol rule, even for sisters. We dont drink at all. :)

We were allowed to open bid up until today. Each sorority could give out a maximum of 4 open bids, and we gave out 3. So now we have a pledge class of 11 girls!!!! We are all so happy! :D

We ended up with 9 awesome girls. 8 I met on the first night and they are really fun. One is even from my hometown! I was really excited about that...
