AKA on E-bay

What's up with this and to whom can I complain?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ADME:B:EF:US:1

ykimber 01-31-2004 02:28 AM

It looks as it the auction has been pulled and the item is no longer for sale.

I would think this person would do some research on their vintage items. I bet if old boy knew the shirt was for a sorority he would not be sportin it.

Soror, I heard that item was pulled. It was sold out of Toronto, Canada. I knew that Sorors e-mailed the seller about it.

LOL - this is funny as hell - he has no clue - - -

SKEEphistAKAte 02-02-2004 08:40 PM

That is too funny. He has his eyes closed, like he is savoring the sensation of that ridiculously tight cotton on his flesh. LOL. What an idiot.

OK ladies...I have to comment.

I *just* looked at this and the comment above is on point. I was like why are his eyes closed?? why is the shirt so dang TIGHT?

I had to cover my mouth so I wouldn't LOL.

:o :o :o :o

AKA2D '91 02-03-2004 03:25 PM

Maybe he's one of GCs newest members, Ejaculator? :o

Seriously, that shirt doesn't look vintage to me. It looks like my 7 years old niece was playing with stencils and paint.

ETD:7, my niece is NOT 7 7 yrs. old. :o

LOL. LOL. LOL @ "ejaculator."

serenity_24 02-06-2004 06:28 PM

Here we go again!!!!

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...ayphotohosting

These things should not be for sale!!!!! (If I'm wrong let me know.)

I hope that I can get more sorors to call and protest certain sorority materials being sold on ebay and other sites like it.

BabyAKA04 02-06-2004 09:01 PM

That shirt is a hot mess especially on him...vintage...right  and the person that is selling the pin is constantly buying and selling AKA paraphernalia. I always see that name on the bidders list....boogles the mind really  its totally disrespectful

rho4life 02-07-2004 04:31 AM

I realize this is off topic, but....... I've never seen the official AKA badge before, and that's a beautiful item. :)

Prissfit1908 02-08-2004 12:57 AM

OH NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

I do realize this is a very serious matter, but you all have me CTFU over here.... I think that guy's eyes are closed because he can't breathe with that tight azz shirt on... LOL

Ignant'...

Munchkin03 02-08-2004 05:05 PM

No. No they did NOT call it retro! Emo! :o

Sister Havana 07-03-2004 03:42 AM

Bumping...found this on Ebay...and it is a Buy it Now!

msn4med1975 07-03-2004 03:27 PM

This particular seller has several D9 and other assorted pins, old manuals, info on Masons and OES. His most recent auctions haven't been doing so well but if you ever see your material on there he'll try to outbid anyone and then resell it.

HederaNaturale 07-07-2004 01:06 AM

He has been around for a while. :( That's my auntie's chapter, too, and if I had the money, I'd surely reclaim that one, but it wouldn't be the first one or the last one he's sold. My question is, how much time does he have on his hands to be finding EVERYBODY'S items like that?

I know some people are collectors. and interested in the historical value, but ol' boy is clearly turning profits.

Yeah, I'm appalled that someone who is greek would do that. But, oh well. He's heard it before, and he's not going to stop. People need to dispose of their stuff properly and our national offices need to make a bigger effort to reclaim these items.

pointNclick 07-07-2004 11:35 AM

Quite cruddy if you ask me. He should really know better:mad:

*bump*

Sorry to crash your board ladies, but there is an AKA Ritual (or what someone is claiming is a ritul) up for bids on ebay.

Ritual/ Manual of Standard Procedure

I always search "ritual" now after a few months ago one of Tri Delta's consitutions was up for bids (and listed as ritual). It looks as if right now the winning bidder is an AKA, so I hope it stays that way. Or I hope someone has notified your Excutive Office so they can win it!!

babe'sbabe 06-28-2005 03:40 PM

Sorors,

I emailed the seller about the reserve. It is $100.

20PearlGirl 07-07-2005 10:39 PM

Sorors,

I know someone (A Soror) who bought it...not to worry.:D

UrbanizdSkillz 07-08-2005 11:16 AM

I don't mean to crash your thread, but the seller of the Ritual/Manual of Standard Procedures also has a Constitution/Bylaws Handbook from 1980 for sale.

AKA Constitution & Bylaws - 1980

No one has bidded on the item yet & bidding starts at $9.99. I hope one of your Sisters can rescue this item so that it doesn't wind up in the wrong hands!

babe'sbabe 07-08-2005 03:16 PM

I can't help but to feel extorted by this individual. He(or she) obviously knows that members are going to keep this information from falling into the wrong hands, so he(or she) sets reserves in order to maximize profits.

As an aside, is there anything we can do to keep Sorors from bidding against each other to drive up the prices and further filling this clown's pockets?

That would be a really good idea, but I'm not quite sure how to go about it, or what venue would be the most approipriate and effective for getting that information out.

Ebay...Lamers

Now....its a dang shame if actual sorors of any greek organization are selling thier items on ebay just to make a buck 5. I was on there two nights ago just to see....and a lot of it it "APPEARS" TO BE FROM A VENDOR"

I also saw Zeta, Delta.Alpha, Kappa,Omega items on there.

nachural 07-20-2005 09:25 PM

who has bought para on ebay before?

20PearlGirl 07-21-2005 01:10 AM

Sorors,

Isn't it great that SO MANY people are so enamored with Alpha Kappa Alpha? :D

Oddly, I never have (although I'm registered on eBay and constantly browse it).

The Greek store in San Diego is very poorly stocked when it comes to AKA paraphernalia. I usually will either buy it at one of two Greek stores in Los Angeles (I need a ride to a third one, which is Delta-owned and in Pomona), or at conferences.

nachural 07-21-2005 02:14 PM

I hear all the good stuff are at conferences. My prophytes have lots of good stuff that they bought at regionals. I can't wait til it's my turn:D
