Shampoo

OK its boring in here. We heard about jeans and hand bags and purfume. How about shampoo/conditioner?

What kind do you use? Any other product (like hair spray or gel or what not)

I'll start, if I am poor I use what ever my mom has (herbal essance) but I love Logics by matrix and I love Silk Therapy product.

What do you use?

Christia

ADPiAkron 01-30-2004 11:12 PM

For the longest time I have and will only use Pantene Pro V!!!!

xok85xo 01-30-2004 11:15 PM

my hair is high maintenance, i'm the first to admit it..

shampoo - healthy sexy hair soy moisture shampoo
conditioner - healthy sexy hair soy conditioner

straightening balm - matrix sleek look extreme
anti-frizz/smooth serum - bumble & bumble defrizz
after drying product - healthy sexy hair soy butter pure shine
flat iron spray (i only use this occasionally) - healthy sexy hair soya want flat hair

as you can tell, i really love the healthy sexy hair line :) my hair is always really soft, you can never tell i have a lot of products in my hair and considering all the torture i put my hair thru (blow drying & daily flat iron sessions) its in really good condition..

kappaloo 01-30-2004 11:24 PM

Frutis... both for Shampoo & Conditioner. And expecially their conditioning treatment (extra strong conditioner) - it makes my hair feel great.

Taualumna 01-30-2004 11:30 PM

I'm currently using Aveda's Rosemary Mint shampoo and conditioner. I also spray my hair with Neutragena's Overnight Therapy after shampooing and conditioning.

I've also tried Lush's solid shampoos (they look like bars of soap)

texas*princess 01-30-2004 11:34 PM

I LOVE Redken's All Soft Shampoo & Conditioner! :)

Other than that, my hair is pretty low-maintenance. I run a quick brush through it and go!

Tippiechick 01-30-2004 11:46 PM

I have very long, straight, and fine hair. But, it takes forever to dry it. The best thing in the world to me is Redken's Active Express. It dries my hair in a flash! My mother-in-law owns a beauty salon, so she keeps me in the stuff. But, when I run out and she can't get the the supply store, I will settle for Dove. I also LOVE ABBA's Scentsation conditioner.

Just a side note: I have some of the oiliest hair ever. The only thing I have found to help is to put Sea Breeze on my scalp in between shampooing and conditioning.

And I get comments every day about how silky, shiny and healthy my hair is.

Lady Pi Phi 01-31-2004 02:13 AM

I'm always changing my hair products. My hair is also high maintenance, so I'm always looking for that great product.

At the moment I'm using Stiff &$#!: Bored Straight shampoo and Got 2 be conditioner.

To straighten my hair I am using Fructis straightening mousse.

So far I am liking it, but who knows how long that will last. Next week I'll probably have a completely different set of products.

mullet81 01-31-2004 02:16 AM

I use Aveda Brilliance shampoo and conditioner. It's a little bit expensive - but it's so much higher quality than anything you would find in a drug store!

absolutuscchick 01-31-2004 06:31 AM

I switch it up alot......but right now I'm using Dove. It's inexpensive and it works really well!!

ZTAngel 01-31-2004 12:01 PM

Biolage. A little expensive (about $10 a bottle) but it works well on my hair. Smells good too!

Rudey 01-31-2004 12:11 PM

Redken fatcat.

-Rudey
--Now girls I've got a great shampoo for all of you but I've gotta make it so I'm taking orders!

Munchkin03 01-31-2004 12:13 PM

About a year ago, I bought a big bottle of Nexxus Ensure from my salon...it's a detangling acidifying conditioner, and I love it...it makes my hair feel like buttah!

My favorite shampoo is John Frieda's Frizz-Ease...he also makes good serums, blowdry cremes, and daily conditioners. I have a line of purple bottles on my vanity. :)

ThetaPrincess24 01-31-2004 12:22 PM

I use biolage shampoo and daily leave in tonic, and in the winter I like to use the biolage conditioning balm.

I use a hairspray made by Matrix but i foget the name off hand......for mousse it's usually big sexxy hair or paul mitchell. I dont use hairspray or mousse that often though unless i have a big date or some kind of event that would require it. That's also the only time I use a curling iron as well.

JennRN 01-31-2004 12:45 PM

I have highlighted hair, so I'm kind of picky about my shampoo and conditioner, plus I have dry hair, so I need a really rich conditioner.

Shampoo: Bumble & Bumble Gentle Shampoo
Conditoner: Bumble & Bumble Aloejoba Conditioner, or their Super Rich Conditioner.

Straightening serum: Bumble&Bumble Straight
Shine spray: Citre Shine
Volumizing Mousse-something by Loreal; can't remember the name

Of course, every now and then I miss my old Herbal Essances that I used to use before I started coloring my hair-it smelled so good!!

PM_Mama00 01-31-2004 12:53 PM

I used to work at a salon and I always wanted to buy all the prodcuts there! It's actually healthy to change up your products once in a while.

I use Salon Selectives shampoo and conditioner, but I change up the kinds... mosturizing, volumizing, etc. Then I use Salon Selectives volumizing mousse, and scrunch in some Bed Head stuff I can't remember the name (it's in a purple ball looking pump bottle). When I straighten it I used the same S&C, but I use Big Sexy Hair Power Straight, and Frizz-Ease hair serum, and afterward Twisted Taffy, Redken Waterworks, Bedhead Shine-junkie, and Redken Vinyl Gloss.

I'm a product junkie.

GeekyPenguin 01-31-2004 01:07 PM

I have 3 shampoo routines that I go through...

1) Aveda Color Conserve Shampoo and Conditioner - I go to an Aveda salon, so they're big on keeping your hair an Aveda experience.

2) John Frieda Sheer Blonde Moisturizing Shampoo and Instant Conditioner for Honey to Caramel Blondes

3) TIGI Bedhead Moisture Maniac Shampoo and Self-Absorbed Conditioner

For styling products I usually use either Aveda Hang Straight or John Frieda Frizz-Ease Straightening stuff before I blow it out, then either Aveda Control Paste, John Frieda Dream Creme, or John Frieda Funky Chunky after I've straightened and blown out. Ever since I started straightening my hair I'm very hair high-maintainence.

Jadey28 01-31-2004 01:46 PM

I'm a fan of Garnier Fruitis. But it's about that time where I switch my line-up, and I'll prolly go back to the Redken ColorStay after I get my hair highlighted.

etahannah 01-31-2004 07:08 PM

i love dove!!

that is what i have been using for the last 6 months or so since it came out. i am a HUGE dove product fan so i was super excited about the shampoo and conditioner when it came out!!

i used to love pantene...i will probably switch back to that soon when the dove runs outs. as someone already said it is good to change products every once in a while.

my hair is super damaged though so i have to be careful of what i use on it.

(long story why :( :( )

***dances an i love dove dance***

cutiepatootie 02-21-2004 05:21 PM

Nioxin is my wonder miracle

DGqueen17 02-21-2004 05:48 PM

I use Dove 2 in 1 AND the conditioner whenever I wanna straighten my hair which is usually everyday.

snowgal2 02-21-2004 09:20 PM

I use Garnier Fructis right now, before that I used Pantene but someone told me Pantene was bad and that's why I switched. My hair is very shiney, like the commercials promised, but I've noticed I'm losing a lot of hair lately...I'm really healthy, but my hair is literally jumping off my head!!! I don't know if it's winter shed or what, but it's driving me nuts because I have waist-length hair and it's really messy!

Why why why?

Jaggergirl 02-23-2004 05:47 PM

Tigi Bedhead Self-Absorbed. I love it!

Every once in a while I'll switch off to a Sheer Blonde product. But only so my hair doesn't get used to the Bedhead.

SigKapBling 02-23-2004 10:18 PM

shampoo & conditioner - john frieda's blonde - moisture infusing and highlight enhancer

products - redken #6 styling wax, and #3 water wax, big sexy hair root volumizer spray, and physique control spray.

this is when i have the energy to DO my hair :p

AOcutiePi4ever 02-23-2004 11:59 PM

pantene pro v in volumizing or fullness- and lemme tell ya, it WORKS!!!! like a freakin charm
my hair

DGqueen17 02-24-2004 12:22 AM

Holy crap! That's some LONG hair. But very well kept:)

Thats my hair, but dark red/brown.

Maybe 1/4 of an inch longer/shorter.

I adore my hair and I love how people stare at it.

lifesaver 02-24-2004 05:22 AM

Seriously...

I wont spend over $2.50 a bottle.

It really is all the same. Sodium Laureth Sulfate. Some just smells different.

KerriMarie 02-24-2004 04:02 PM

Shampoo - I use Herbal Essences Fruit Fusion because it's cheap and smells good.

Conditioner - I normally use Herbal Essences Fruit Fusion, but I also have Pantene ProV, and about once a week I deep-condition with Aussie 3-Minute Miracle.

For styling, it's either Thermasilk Curl-Perfecting Mousse if I'm going curly, or normally FX Straigten-Up if I'm blowdrying it straight.

dzsaigirl 02-24-2004 06:18 PM

Lately I have been flip flopping Aveda Shampure shampoo and conditioner and Pantene sham and cond. My hairstylist used something on my hair that I loved last week when I went in for a trim and I can't remember what it was! It smelled so good and left my hair so soft and full of body. My mom said she would find out for me.

If you feel like you have oily hair, use a clarifying shampoo and only condition your ends, not your scalp area. That should help.

Rudey 02-24-2004 06:19 PM

How come nobody took me up on the offer to make them fresh shampoo?

-Rudey

AXJules 02-24-2004 06:22 PM

I'll be honest, didn't read through the thread so someone may have said this, but
We had a thread on this a long time ago about how Pantene has wax in it, which coats your hair and makes it break. (I know someone else knew more about this than me but I can't remember who.) Made sense to me- every time I straightened my hair pieces would literally snap in half.

Garnier Fructis is where its at for the cheap stuff, but KMS's products are not that much more expensive, and AMAZING great stuff.

Damn yes that is well kept hair! Still no answer from anyone on whether the Mary Kate & Ashley haircare range causes the same problems as the Pantene range does given it's pearlescent but colored appearance.

EPTriSigma 01-12-2005 10:43 PM

Biolage!

AznSAE 01-12-2005 10:52 PM

head and shoulders (the 2 in one kind, moisterizer and i forgot the other one)

ADPiZXalum 01-12-2005 10:53 PM

Either Herbal Essence (Fruit Fussion) or Redken color extend.

bcdphie 01-12-2005 10:55 PM

I am a bead head junkie - currently I use Dumb Blonde shampoo and conditioner. To straighten my hair I use Control freak straightening serum and then to stop the fly aways I use after party, and for to get through the tangles I use Ego Booster.

I have also used their self absorbed and control freak shampoo and conditioner.

winneythepooh7 01-12-2005 11:02 PM

Well since I chopped all my hair off over a year ago, I am not so much a hair product junkie anymore. But my hair is growing and is almost chin length now so that will change soon, I am sure. There is one product I swear by, and that is Secret Weapon Flawless Finishing Cream by John Frieda. I have really thick hair and it totally helps with the frizzies and flyaways. I then usually spritz on an anti-humidity hair spray to finish it off for the day. Aussie makes the one I am using now.

01-12-2005 11:21 PM

Biolage
