I LOVE THIS MAN!!!!

Tonight, I just decided to turn off my TV and just listen to David Bowie songs for an hour or so on my computer.

Rather than list all my favorites, I'll just list what I played so far:

Time
Something in the Air
China Girl
Sorrow
Space Oddity
Breaking Glass
Modern Love
Drive in Saturday

I first started digging David Bowie after Labyrinth....the songs (to me, a seven year old) were dope....the very next music I got after the Labrinth soundtrack was the Sound & Vision boxed set. Then, the Tin Machine album.

(I can't believe I listened to all this in elementary school!)

I adore David Bowie. Sound+Vision disc 2 is sheer perfection.

I love David Bowie too.

And I had a crush on him during the "Let's Dance" days, even though he is, technically, old enough to be my father. :D

David Bowie got really good fashion sense.

LOVE David Bowie. I saw the Glass Spider concert twice when I was a junior in high school.... He is amazing live & has an awesome voice! (Oh, and I loved Labyrinth too).

I, too, loved Labyrinth. I bet I watched it over 50 times (we had a pirated copy from the video store until a "friend" borrowed it and never returned it!!! (bitch).

I'm not a huge David Bowie fan, but I do like him.

Love the movie Labyrinth! That's definitly one I have to get on DVD.

Random fact that I learned from the DVD:

Gates McFadden, who played "Dr. Beverly Crusher" on Star Trek: The Next Generation, was a choreographer for Labyrinth. I beleive she not only choreographed the ballroom scene, but also several fights during the attack on the Goblin City.

Oh, that's so cool! I didn't not know that. I'm a big Star Trek fan too.

Labrynth is full of gratuitous shots of David Bowie's crotch. :)

There was a David Bowie magazine in Borders this weekend....one of those imports, I believe, as it costed $11.50! I would have gotten it, but I am really too broke to splurge on it.

Also at the borders was a DVD of a bunch of David Bowie videos....a lot of classic stuff! Nothing new though....in fact, did David even make any videos for his last two albums, Heathen and Reality?

My friend bought me David Bowie tickets for my birthday in May.I cannot wait.:D I don't mind turning a year older if this is the gift I get in exchange.

He's been around awhile :) --I still have his Ziggy Stardust album that I listened to nonstop spring of my senior year.

He has a little girl who's preschool age now...he was talking about her awhile back on Jay Leno. What a doting daddy!

I FINALLY purchased his album "Reality" and it is pretty freakin good!

Although, I must admit that I liked "Heathen" better.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - Pop star David Bowie had emergency heart surgery last month but is now out of hospital and convalescing at home with his family, his publicist says.

Bowie, 57, had emergency angioplasty surgery for a blocked artery at a hospital in Germany after seeking treatment for a pinched nerve during a concert tour, publicist Mitch Schneider said in a statement on Thursday.

i hope that he is doing okay. i think that he and Iman are so beautiful together

Let's Dance was the jam!!! My mom was feeling that song so much that she went out and bought the 12" single! lol

Ziggy Stardust is a great album...one of my roommates sophomore year got me into some of Bowie's stuff.

Currently jammin' to some earlier, live recordings.....such songs as Sweet Thing, John I'm Only Dancing, 1984, Changes......damn, I needed this tonight!

I have to say that I too LOVE DB.......I "discovered" him during the Let's Dance craze also.....yummy.


He has so many great songs, but I do have to say that John I'm Only Dancing is one of my all time favorites, along with Under Pressure (with Queen, another favorite band that I "discovered" when Another Bites the Dust came out)

Bumping because I saw him in a commercial for XM Radio....he stole Snoop Dogg's bling!

Love that song!! I put it on, turn it up loud, and jam. Then I feel like a bad-ass ( for about 3 minutes).

Labyrinth was such a good movie!! He was very good-looking in that movie.

Just wanted to point out that my latest signature is from the David Bowie song "Boys Keep Swinging."

My sister babysat the kiddo this weekend while the husband and I went to a wedding out of town and when we got back she was watching Labrynth. I love a little David Bowie in tight pants and '80s glam hair!
