the RANT thread

Ok, everyone here is a thread to post your "rants" on!! YAY!!

Current Rant:
What's up with people leading others on. It's like come on...I'm a big girl, I can handle it if you're not interested in me anymore. But to avoid me and ignore me is absolutely ridiculous and childlike. Why do twenty one year old males still do this??

Re: the RANT thread

When I take the time to dig up the GC Awards thread I am going to give you the award for being the most Boy Crazy on a site of 20 thousand sorority girls :p

Why do 25-year-old males still do this?

My Rant:
Why do I question my intuition? Why do I second guess myself? I can't help but feel terrible that I was in my grandmother's neighborhood last Thursday and we didn't find her until Friday and she had a stroke and couldn't reach a phone. I feel like CRAP!

Maybe you should lay off the boys?

And start looking for more mature adult men?

Just a suggestion

Have you ever come across a male who doesn't do this? Because I think, no matter what age they are, they still behave like children...

Why do males over 30 still do this?

Guys AND girls do this. It doesn't have anything to do with being male or female, or how old they are. Some people are just a**holes, period. My brother, who is a certified card-carrying Nice Guy, just got played HARD by this girl a couple weeks ago. I'm about ready to drive up there and throttle her.

A year or so ago I got sick of worrying about the whole oh-does-he-like-me-why-won't-he-call-boo-hoo-hoo routine. They said something like this on Sex and the City once: sometimes he just doesn't like you that much. If a guy is going to act like that, then he is NOT worth your time. Period. There is nothing you can do to change the situation either.

The best part is, once you stop worrying about it, it really does seem to happen less. Lowering your standards and letting people treat you that way just dooms you to having it happen over and over again.

Now repeat after me: "If that guy/girl I like is treating me badly or playing games with my head, then F**K THEM! I will not allow destructive people in my life! I will move on and find someone new!"

Liberating, ain't it? ;)

I'm sorry to hear that, but questioning yourself will not help. I hope that she is doing well and that you are feeling better.

Current Rant: "VALENTINES DAY"

VALENTINES DAY sucks! Honestly it is the worst holiday EVER when you are single. Today at work, my manager said over the intercom about how great valentines day is and how we should get cute gifts and plan a special day and honestly I wanted to murder her right then and there....but instead I resorted to saying something somewhat snide about being single onto the intercom. Seriously though, I don't think I've ever even been on a date on valentines day. It's so depressing. And the worst thing ever is the fact that I work in a LINGERIE STORE RIGHT BEFORE VALENTINES DAY. Men come in fifty times a day to get help picking out some lingerie for theire girlfriends/wife. And what's with all of the advertisements for flowers and jewelry and chocolates. THEY'RE EVERYWHERE!!! Like I can't even go on my favorite shopping websites without advertisements for valentines day. And every time I see anything pertaining to Valentines Day, it reminds me that I am single, once again on Valentines Day. Like honestly, I think that Valentines Day should be abolished. It is the worst holiday EVER.

Oh well. I mean the worst that can happen is that I spend the night with my single girlfriends and get majorly intoxicated. No, scratch that....the WORST THING that could happen is if my PARENTS ask me to babysit my sister on Valentines Day so they can have a day or two away from my sister. That's so just like them too.....ARGGHHHHH....

Please pray for me that going to all of this religious stuff lately will help me meet a cute, nice jewish boy.....hopefully in time for Valentines Day.

G-d. That is so depressing. Here I thought guys actually somewhat matured by the time they are in their late twenties. I guess that's wishing for too much!

How would you define maturity? Falling in love with you and doing pretty much what you want him to?

No. not leading you on....or at least telling you that he's not interested instead of LYING!

Current Rant (yes I have ALOT of rants this evening!)

The fact that my roommates bedroom and my bedroom SHARE a wall. I DO NOT enjoy hearing her and her fiance in bed. Like not in the slightest. In fact, it makes me want to wretch. But I mean atleast she's pretty quiet about it....

I did that last year. LOL. One of my girlfriends and I went out and I drank two Long Islands and an Alabama Slammer.....which doesn't sound like much, but it was on an empty stomach and within the space of a half hour. Needless to say an hour later I was puking my guts out.....we had to take turns holding back each others' hair.

At the time, I was in one of those fun "not-bf" situations that was incredibly frustrating for me. The not-bf did buy me something for V-day last year, though--a pumpkin gob. Yeah, he was a big spender

This year I don't know what I'm doing......would like to have a date, but that's probably not in the cards.

Sister Havana 01-30-2004 02:19 PM

Valentines Day...blargh. Never cared too much for the day even when I was involved with someone.

I am listening to the radio now and if I hear that "When the two of you know it's forever" J.B. Robinson jingle any more I'm going to throw up. I hate jewelry commercials.

(Although it is funny that there are tons of commercials for erection enhancers and stuff popping up now. :D )

adpialumcsuc 01-30-2004 02:27 PM

It took me 2 and a half yours to get to work today. I hate it when it rains because people forget how to drive.

Lady Pi Phi 01-30-2004 02:59 PM

I already took 2 days off from work because I was sick. I still feel like crap and I came in today. I want to go home.

GHETTO @$$ MF'n PARENTS!!!!!

I am a substitute teacher, but I am pretty much "attached" to one school, so the majority of the students know me and understand that I don't take no mess.

LONG STORY SHORT, the goody two-shoes of the class decided she wanted to be on the rag today, misbehave, talk back, and all types of nonsense. She didn't want to accept the punishment that her classmates took, so I put her out of the class and sat her with a fifth grade teacher.

As luck would have it, today was the Student of the Month reception, and this child and her hoodrat mother were there. This broad came up after the assembly and TOLD me that I was not to put her daughter out of the class. I CALMLY explained to this tramp that I am an ALPHA MAN and I don't take that shit! Sike, I actually explained to her "Ma'am, your daughter broke the rules and didn't accept her behavior modification, so I sent her to another teacher for the remainder of the afternoon" (Which is basically strike one and two before you send them to the principal's office)

So this woman keeps getting loud with me while my class is acting up, so i tell her, ma'am, you need to talk to my principal, i have a class to teach.

SO then she gets LOUDER, tell me that she is NOT the one to be messed with, and I don't want to have to deal with the girl's father. Threats basically.

I wanted to say "Do all your kids have the same fathers?" but i did not.

I walked away, told her to talk to my supervisor, and to have a good day.

A few seconds later, I was like awwwww hellllll naw, this bitch threatened me! I was wondering why my kids started clapping when I came back into the room. (Sixth graders, by the way).....apparently, they felt I shoulda punched the broad, but clearly that wasn't going to happen.

I summoned the school security to report the incident, and then me and a teacher went to the principal to report it, because the other teacher was in the vicinity and heard the woman try to get buck with me.

The principal said that i was right, she was wrong, and thanked me for keeping a cool head.

yay me!

Rudey 01-30-2004 08:07 PM

I really feel for you. It's jerk parents like that who really screw the system for their incompetent children. I would have grabbed her hand, flung it on my junk, screamed rape, and maced her until security took her away.

Oh God help me please! Too much drama that I did NOT need to be in! Some friggin' sorority sister, dumb@$$ girl! Get this, sister A called sister B saying I was telling "secrets" about another GLO  , a GLO sister A has never been associated with and sister B just got to be involved with. I was never telling "secrets", was discussing friggin' OPEN information, look on their website dumb@$$!!!!!! Sister A needs to get her fat head out of sister B's butt! You two now look like fat liars to everybody because I've never lied about anyone and am trustworthy, unlike you two. Once you hear something you tell everybody and the damn bum on the street! Get a life and stop trying to discredit a sister!

//end rant for now//

kddani 01-30-2004 08:46 PM

ARGH! more ranting about men...

I assumed the guy i was sorta dating had just blown me off the silent way. Hadn't heard from him since Sunday. He gets on IM today and starts talking like everything's fine. Fortunately,I think we have sort of understanding now. Screwed with my head though, I had gotten myself over him quickly and now he's back. Lol.

AlphaGamDiva 01-31-2004 12:03 AM

why is the choreographer of this show i am in so HORRID?!?!?!? why is she putting ppl in the front with NO dance experience/rhythm/dance talent/maturity/COMMON SENSE?!?!? WHY does she come to rehearsal unprepared and attempt to make up the dances DURING rehearsal!?!?!? why am i, the diva, the theatre major, the 12-year's-dance-experienced in the friggin back?!?! <pout>

WHY?!??!

the answer: i am cuter than her  (haha...but it's funny....and prob a lil bit true ;) hey, i am a diva, afterall :o ), i am not one of her lil 14 yr ol proteges, and this is my first show here. granted my part is not huge, but....and this brings about another question: WHY DOES THIS NASTY LIL 15 YEAR OLD GIRL OF BIGGER PROPORTIONS ALWAYS TRY AND STEAL MY ONE LINE?!?!? that's how small my part is. this is a musical....i don't do musicals....i don't sing, ppl....nonono.....and the one line i do have is CONSTANTLY trying to be stolen by ol' b*tch........and it's STUPID! gimme a break.

absolutuscchick 01-31-2004 06:23 AM

What the F??!!? Why is it when I meet another totally cute boy...well dressed, jewish, religious, cute, and fraternity member. Yea....and hes apparently the BIGGEST man-ho! How wonderful. Seriously, can I PLEASE meet a guy who is cute and not a man-ho? Like is it possible?? ARGH...... So much for meeting a jewish boy. Yup....dating non-jews is going to become a way of life...

absolutuscchick 01-31-2004 06:33 AM

Ok. It's 3oclock in the morning. Why the f are there people outside of my building screaming and yelling. Like honestly, I want to go to sleep. Do I want to hear people scream and yell? NO siree. Seriously...it like needs to stop.

My Rant:

I have had it up to here with my younger sister. I mean it. It hurts enough that our parents have the money to allow her to do all the things I never got to do (Girl Scouts, her own horse, ski trips, etc.), but she really enjoys rubbing it in my face. I guess that's what 13-year-olds do, but she's ungrateful and has a surly attitude AND is hostile towards me...why can't she be thankful for all the advantages she has? I don't even like to be at home now, and it has a lot to do with her. Everyone says I'm jealous and maybe I am (come on...she's doing all the things I would've given anything to do when I was her age, and walking around like a stuck-up little *****), but the brat needs to tone down the attitude. Before I go nuts.

James 02-01-2004 02:36 PM

Beat her! You'll feel so much better.
