Why was I up at 1am last night (couldn't sleep) trying to figure out different ways to get to work?! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif Carpool, COTA, etc. The bus would be cool, if it ran on a regular schedule out by where I work. But it's on one of the express lines, so the last one leaves at like 5:05, so I mean, come on! Then I live in a remote area of town, so there's only like one person that I know of who lives out here. So I don't know. But I know I'ma hafta figure out somethin', because once regular hits $2, uh-uh. |
SoCal has variable pricings: Sometimes in LA it is cheaper. In other places, where I live it's:
$1.99, 87 grade $2.01, 89 grade $2.05, 92 grade But it is gonna go way higher than that in the summer 'cuz of the Rolling Blackouts. The problem with California's energy, you can have NO ELECTRICITY on in your house and still wind up paying $300+!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif And water is gonna get scarce, too. 'Cuz although the days have been real sunny and the weather very nice, it is still May and it is gonna get hot. And if SoCal goes into another drought... Some folks will be doing some MAJOR interstate communting... Oh well, guess I'm bent outta shape... |

THIS MORNING WHEN I PUT $10 IN the pump and only received a 1/2 tank of gas, it was @ EXXON: (NO, LA)
$1.59 reg, I didn't even bother to look at the others. When I step out later, I will edit this post. BUT, LAST WEEK I WAS OUT. AT THE LIGHT I NOTICED AN EXXON STATION HAD THIS ON THEIR "SIGN": $1.59 (UNLEADED) ARM (PLUS) LEG (SUPREME) I was cracking up. But, it was true! |
Funny story, me and my man went out this Sunday and he needed gas so I was like here use my Mobil gas card, when I realized home slice was using premium for 2+ dollars I nearly flipped the freak out. I drive between states everyday and don't put premium in my own car ...I cried when I saw his SUV total of over 50 bucks.
Damn, Damn, Damn!!!! Seriously I don't know if the GAS OUT will work, but I am sure going to be taking public transportation more if gas prices keep rising. |
I just got an e-mail that shows someone at the pump and a huge tented sign saying:
FINANCING AVAILABLE Cryin as I laugh. Too real. I tell you what, if it go up past $2.00, I's bought to figga out how public transportation works. |

They always do that on YOUR card. Gotta luv 'em! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |

I heard that the solution to these outrageous gas prices is not the "GAS OUT" but not buying gas from the top distributors - EXON, BP, etc. - but buying from smaller companies. In order to correct their falling profits, the top dogs will lower prices and the rest will follow suit.
I've been telling all my friends with cars to try it. It's worth a shot. This way you don't have to remember a certain day, just avoid the same places at all times. |

I got an email w/ a pic saying this: Regular: $1.89 Premium: ARM Super: LEG LOL!! I died laughing! It was too funny, yet oh so true http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/frown.gif Gas in my neck of the woods (Ann Arbor, MI) is: $1.89 for Reg. I have no clue what the prices are for the other grades b/c I only look for the cheapest! LOL http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Woo wee....I am soooooo glad that I don't live where you guys do. Unleaded here, for now, is $1.45 regular, $1.55 mid-grade, and $1.65 premium. I also started doing something that my father would do when I was younger. I take my truck and put a 55 gallon drum on the back and fill it up like that. In the long run, I do save money.

How Much Are You Paying?
I just received an e-mail that is circulating yet again about not purchasing gas on a particular day. With the escalating prices, how much are you paying in your area?
Charleston, SC - average price $1.58 |
$1.79 for regular
I forget what the Plus price is $1.99 for premium http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/mad.gif |
In central Florida...I paid $1.61 for regular gas yesterday. That is about the average price. Next grade up was $1.71...I didn't even look at premium!
My co-workers and I were talking about car pooling - walking - jogging - skipping - to work...because in the words of my Soror...gas prices have gotten ridurndiculous!!!!! |

Okaaay.....girl, I wish prices were like that because it has been putting a hurting on my pocket....my poor lil pocket:(. |
So do I. Out here in SoCal, I'm paying between $2.90 and $3.10 a gallon for 87 octane. It's more expensive in Orange County than San Diego. And I have a larger car with an 18-gallon tank, rather than my old 13-gallon car.
