Valentine's Day Plans anyone??

Anyone going anywhere special? I was thinking of the Poconoe's maybe?? No..not getting a heart-shaped hot tub..but it would be nice to be in the mountains with my BF and do a little bit of skiing. I've been checking my Orbitz deal detector for some good fares...so we'll see. Wondering what others plans are??

SigKapSmurf 01-21-2004 08:09 PM

Well no bf for me right now but there is this one guy who i have been flirting with and he has been doing some flirting back so we have been getting to know eachother, but he is a wrestler and they have a big tournament that is three hours away from here on valentines day. So my day might be spent watching wresting, but that is ok because I love wrestling and I would do that for him. If not it is gorls night on the town!!:D

Peaches-n-Cream 01-21-2004 08:14 PM

My birthday is the day before Valentine's Day. I am going on a cruise on Feb 15th with my boyfriend.

step!

my chapter is hosting our 7th Annual Charity Step Show. Valentine's Day isn't the most ideal date, but it was the only one we could get

::Whips out little black book::

Hmmm, who shall I ask to be MY Valentine? :D

I'm probably working that evening, but I'm certainly not going to let the holiday get me down. I'll probably go show some love to Jack, Jim, and Johnny... ;)

Oh crap you said Poconoes. I haven't heard anybody talk about that in a million years. That brings back so many memories.

Peaches-n-Cream 01-21-2004 08:40 PM

My hs teacher has a home in the Poconos. I doubt that she has a heart shaped or champagne glass tub. Gosh, I hope not.

adpialumcsuc 01-21-2004 08:43 PM

Nothing but a nice night at home with my honey

Ginger 01-21-2004 09:00 PM

I'll be visiting my parents in Arizona. Looks like Mr. Ginger and I will have to put off any romantic plans until we get back home!

With you there......:)

honeychile 01-21-2004 09:25 PM

Mr. honeychile has an away tournament that weekend, so I'm going to go to a tea, then stop in at a nursing home & take some of my clients some flowers & treats.

No sense in all of us being miserable!

Munchkin03 01-21-2004 09:32 PM

I'll come up with something super-romantic to do with Mr Munch. It's a weekend, so that will be lots of fun. :D

smiley21 01-21-2004 10:20 PM

my bf is not telling me what he is doing for us that night. i am excited!!:D

cutiepatootie 01-21-2004 11:06 PM

BAAAAA HUMBUG!:(

texas*princess 01-22-2004 12:09 AM

I'm going to go bar/club-hopping with all my SINGLE FRIENDS and am going to have entirely too much fun! :D

Rio_Kohitsuji 01-22-2004 12:12 AM

Have no idea :p V-Day is not a day in which I get to do any planning...hehe...it's all TKE209's thing :D Can't wait to see what he does this year!!!!

Hootie 01-22-2004 12:16 AM

You know, I forgot to add that last year I was single (again) on Valentine's Day and my best friend was so sweet. She bought me a little rose plant and then got me a little shot container of Godiva liquor. Yum! Then she REALLY DID give me three shot containers of Jim, Jack and Johnny. She told me since I didn't have a man, I should have THREE!

I think I'll do the same for another one of my friends this year. Us single girls gotta take care of each other!

SmartBlondeGPhB 01-22-2004 12:51 AM

No bf this year (like last year) so who knows with me. I might get a date but not with the guy I REALLY want (seeing how HE'S in Iraq) so I should just go out on my own. Maybe I'll just go diving or snowboarding..................

FYI...........for those of you who might be government workers (or anyone else who gets it off), Monday the 16th is President's Day so it's also a 3 day weekend.

my little bros birthday is the day before V-Day too!! I am heading to New York to attend a wedding on Valentines Day! The wedding theme is BLACK! Can you believe that one?? A valentines Day wedding that is themed BLACK>? I just thought that it was kinda weird. We'll see..
Also, I live in the Poconoes, so its funny to hear about people going there to visit and to vacation. There are alot of places with heart shaped hot tubs ( although I've never stayed at one of them). ITs a nice place to visit and to ski. The skiing is GREAT at JAkc fRost and Montage mountain! HAVE FUN!

absolutuscchick 01-22-2004 01:50 AM

Yea, so still no boyfriend, or really serious romantic interest.....but I did take the liberty of buying myself more lingerie for some reason (ahem...compulsive shopper...) Well, I'll probably hang out with some of my single girlfriends...or HOPEFULLY I'll have a date.

Last year I was supposed to have a date but the @$$h@le decided to get mad at me for not calling until late (since i was supposed to KNOW that he would cancel making me dinner if I didnt call by a certain time), and cancelled. AND the other guy I wanted to see decided NOT to call me after we spent like 24 hours together up until that morning, I spent it with my sisters, drinking Valentines day drinks, eating valentines day candy, and watching Chick Flicks...definitely fun!

Super Delt 01-22-2004 02:31 AM

just having fun, maybe a little work, but my job involves running promotions at bars/night clubs so its fun

The_Nash 01-22-2004 04:03 AM

going to rocky point with half my fraternity, unless i find a girl who gives me a reason to stay in arizona for valentines day. should be an interesting weekend, as is every weekend in mexico.

adduncan 01-22-2004 04:12 AM

I found out I'm getting pinned on V-day!

OK, so I'm already married to the guy, but since I'm finally getting involved in Greek life (in one way or another) he thought it would be appropriate.

You know I am 24 years old and have NEVER had a boyfriend on Valentine's day... got close once but we broke up like 3 weeks before... NE WAY... I'm convinced it's a horrible conspiracy to make single people feel like ISHT == sigh == this year YET again I'll be going out with my single friends... (well... there is this guy who I hope does something... but I'm not seeing anything happeneing by valentine's day...)

Taualumna 01-22-2004 12:46 PM

I don't have any plans. Valentine's Day is a Saturday this year...hmmmm..looks like I'm going to be parked in front of the TV watching SNL...many of my friends have bfs :(

Rudey 01-22-2004 12:53 PM

Isn't jack, jim, and john the three wise men shot or something like that?

AlphaGam1019 01-22-2004 01:13 PM

Going to Boston to visit the boyfriend for V-day (well technically a 6 day trip). He made reservations at a romantic restaurant for the evening. ;)

aurora_borealis 01-22-2004 03:03 PM

S.P.A.D.

My eldest sister is coming up to visit, and her brithday is the 19th so we're celebrating then. All of my girls are single, so we have planned "Single People's Appreciation Day" and we're getting each other gifts and going out to eat. If there isn't a trip to the honkytonk or local dive bar, I am sure there will be a "We don't need stinky boys" film fest. We also call it "Happy V.D." as Valentine's is a social disease.

However I have replaced grad student crush "Lumberjack" with the undergrad "Legionnaire" crush, so who knows, I *may* have a Valentine this year. Although I would keep my plans with the girls and he can cope with it.

(The only use of lingerie around here is to put on if there is a fire to get rescued first since we're on the 5th floor)

Congrats!!! I can see how that would be exciting for you :)

MTSUGURL 01-22-2004 05:02 PM

I have a first date with a guy this Friday... we'll see how long I can keep him around... I definitely don't want to spend my Valentines Day with the people I've spent it with the past couple of years.

ThetaPrincess24 01-22-2004 05:32 PM

I'm going out of town for sure. As to where I'm going I have two options and I havent decided on which one to choose yet.

DWAlphaGam 01-22-2004 06:26 PM

My boy and I don't celebrate Valentine's day. As our first V-day was approaching (almost 6 years ago, ack!), I told him that I didn't want to celebrate it; he was so thrilled with me when I said that. His birthday is in October, my birthday is in November, Christmas is in December, and our anniversary is in March, so there are way too many holidays right in a row. Also, I think V-day is pretty stupid because of the commericalization and because all it does is make everyone feel bad—single people because they don't have someone to share it with and attached people because they have to worry about what to do for each other.

I might check out Orbitz for some Valentine's day special hotels rates here in Cleveland.

RioLambdaAlum 01-22-2004 11:11 PM

Okay this might sound cheesy to some of you but I think its cute. My mom, dad, Mike, and I are all going out together on the 13th for dinner together.

Jadey28 01-31-2004 03:05 PM

My guy is cooking me dinner on Valentine's Day. We were going to go out to eat, but it's so much more fun to cook and spend quality time together in the house then to fight the rush of people celebrating at restaurants. We don't really do the presents thing, but you never know! :) I might get a little crazy and plan a surprise for later that evening...but he has to be nice! ;)

GeekyPenguin 01-31-2004 04:07 PM

I am working and then finding some single people to get b-o-m-b-e-d with.

This is the first V-day I'll have been single in 3 years and the first one since GPBoy died. I will be drowning my sorrows with Pierre, Jack, Jim, and anybody else who wants to help.

AOPIHottie 01-31-2004 04:09 PM

One of my best guy friends and I are going to dinner then out to drink!!!! We are "celebrating being single" O well, it will be fun anyway. I am just sad the guy I really like can't take me out for complicated reasons. Grrrr-never get involved with someone from work!!!!! I hope everyone else here has a great v-day though!!!
