Dave Chapelle

Have ya'll seen the ads for this weeks show? The spoof for Sam Adams beer looks funny as hell!!

sigtau305 01-20-2004 08:56 PM

Yes, I did.

Plus I finally got to see some of his repeats. definately funny.:D

PhiPsiRuss 01-20-2004 09:09 PM

He is very, very funny. One of the best comedians, to poke fun at race relationships and stereotypes.

PhiPsiRuss 01-22-2004 05:13 PM

Great episode last night.

Especially the race draft.

I meant to see it last night. I'm hoping they repeat it again soon.

DeltaSigStan 01-22-2004 05:34 PM

I guess we can't talk about Condelleza Rice being a colored member of an NPC sorority more, eh?

That is correct. As of last night's show, all senior cabinet level officials, in the Bush Administration, who are involved with national security, or foreign policy, are white. End of discussion.

DeltaSigStan 01-22-2004 06:28 PM

lol at the tagline at the screen:

Condelleza Rice:
Given Away By Blacks

krazy 01-22-2004 08:49 PM

Hey, you gotta take old CHappelle with a grain of salt. He is funny as hell if you aren't too PC. My friends and I got some Sammy Adams just to watch the show... Needless to say we had a great time.

lindsay_iu 01-23-2004 04:23 AM

krazy, I think that's one of the reasons why Chappelle is so funny. The pc thing has just gone too far. I realize how much my generation has been "pc-ized" when I'm around my parents or other older family members. I get tired of the overly politically correct stuff.

We all know that Chappelle doesn't really have anything against any type of person, so that's what makes it good. You have to be able to poke fun at yourself, and the world in general or you just won't be a happy person. My $.02.

I missed last night's episode, unfortunately, but I know that they'll replay it soon.

DeltaSigStan 01-23-2004 12:01 PM

Oh yeah, my people now claim the Wu Tang Clan. I guess Jin is no longer the best asian rapper.

FAB*SpiceySpice 01-23-2004 01:51 PM

The race draft was seriously the funniest thing ever, I love the Chapelle show!!! :D :D

AKA2D '91 01-23-2004 02:24 PM

The race draft skit was funny.
:D

Also, the one last season where he played the old blind guy that was a KKK member, BUT WAS ACTUALLY BLACK! Everyone (including his KKK members) thought he was white, but when he removed his hood, heads literally exploded from the shock!

I thought this was his best ever.

No...the funniest part was when he found he was black, he divorced his wife citing "She's a n**** lover!"

AKA2D '91 01-23-2004 02:45 PM

Girrrrrrlllllllllllllll....YESSSSSSSSSSSS! That was a trip and a half!

Yup. You just gotta love a black klansman!

I love in that skit when he is driving past a bunch of white kids blasting hip-hop, and he calls them "N*****rs!!!" and they get all happy over that!

bwah! Chappelle cracks me up. The Sam Adams skit with Samuel Jackson was hilarious. My friends and I have been quoting it back and forth to each other.

Friend: "I'm going to make pasta for dinner."
Me: "Good choice motherfucker!"

CC1GC 01-27-2004 04:15 PM

Props to my man tyrone..."i'm here for the free crack giveaway"...lolol

I saw that when he had his "best of" the weekend before his Season premiere. I laugh so hard. I'm hoping to catch his show later this evening.

krazy 01-30-2004 05:57 PM

I want to get the DVD, I wonder how soon after this season the DVD will come out, I want to see the racial draft and sam jackson skits again, those are great.

Optimist Prime 01-31-2004 03:56 PM

He sounded just Samuel L. Jackson during the last part of that. I laughed so hard both times I saw it. Good motherfuckin choice motherfucker.

DeltaSigStan 02-12-2004 03:27 AM

"What did the fiver fingers say to the face?"
"What?"
"SLAP!!!"

I damn near died laughing...........

Last night's episode was soooooo HILARIOUS!!!!!!!

CTHU, CTHU. :D :D :D

lindsay_iu 02-12-2004 12:51 PM

My roommates don't watch the show, so they think I'm crazy every time I'm laughing my ass off. I try to explain, but they don't understand. It's very sad. Hopefully I can show them the light and they will understand the genius that is Chappelle.

"I'm Rick James, bitch."

FeeFee 02-12-2004 12:59 PM

"Cocaine is a hell of a drug".

DeltaSigStan 02-12-2004 01:20 PM

LMAO @ Rick James saying "Cocaine is a hell of a drug" FOUR TIMES.

Also, that instant replay when he said he had more sense than to stomp on the couch with his boots, then goes on to say that he DID stomp the couch with his boots.

sigtau305 02-14-2004 10:21 AM

I'm hoping to catch the repeats tonight.

DeltaSigStan 03-10-2004 06:35 PM

BUMP

Man, the last couple episodes haven't been as good as the Rick james episode. The Day In the Life of Lil Jon is getting very old.

lindsay_iu 03-10-2004 07:00 PM

Dave is on a comedy tour right now, mainly visiting colleges, I think. Anyway, he is going to be at Indiana on April 18, and yours truly has front row tickets. Aww yeah.

DeltaSigStan 03-10-2004 07:46 PM

Two of our guys went to see him do live stand up.....he was WAY too trashed apparently and wasn't that funny.

We'll see tonight. Hopefully, he'll has some fresh materials.

ISUKappa 03-11-2004 11:17 AM

Yeah, tonight? Not so good. It was humorous but not as good as some of his other stuff.

33girl 03-11-2004 11:23 AM

I'm just happy that I finally know what the heck they were saying in the "Good Times" theme.

AllUnderstood 03-11-2004 03:19 PM

last nights was "meh."

they need to stick with rick james!

The World Series of Dice

at the Marcy Projects in Brooklyn is hysterical. The characters Phyuck Yiu and Ashey Larry crack me up, as do the sports announcers.

ISUKappa 03-14-2004 01:51 PM

They replay them on Saturday nights so we watched about 2.5 hours worth last night--including the Rick James and Prince episodes.

No, my husband and I have nothing better to do on Saturday nights than sit home and watch TV with our dog. Plus, we had company

deuika 03-15-2004 12:20 PM

Yeah he's hilarious. Comedy with a purpose, poking fun at all these silly people and their ridiculous stereotypical antics. I bought the first Season on DVD

sigtau305 03-15-2004 01:52 PM

I saw the show this past saturday. the Game Show Spoof" I know Black People" was funny.
