DON'T FORGET....
The new Damon Wayans sitcom comes on tonight
Wed 3/28 8pm Eastern Time on ABC. They will be broadcasting two shows back-to-back. So it will be on for one hour. I hope it isn't a cheesey show and it survives...'cuz I love me some Damon Wayons! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |
Oh, soror, I'm ready! I've been waiting on this show since I first about it. The previews I've seen with the kids do remind me of the Cosby Show, but that's all good. We need some good family entertainment these days.
|
I don't know ya'll.
So far, it reminds me of "The Hughleys", with a twist... The verdict is still out...I guess I will come back after the 2nd episode. |

It is good seeing "G" from New York Undercover... I always wondered what happened to him...
When is Tisha gonna get that hair right? I am not feeling this at all! Sorry! [This message has been edited by AKA2D '91 (edited March 28, 2001).] |
Is Tisha pregnant? From one episode to another, it looks like she gained weight. I was wondering if maybe someone read that somewhere.
I thought the show was OK. Sometimes we get so hyped over a particular sitcom/movie that we expect too much. I'm willing to give it a chance. Remember when the Cosbys first came on, people thought it was unbelievable also. New York Undercover! That's where I know him from! AKA2D'91, I totally agree with you about Tisha. Why can't someone hook the sista up with a decent hairstyle? (Shaking my head) Peace lilmama [This message has been edited by lilmama_26 (edited March 28, 2001).] |

All in all I thougth the show was ok. I will tune in again. http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif ------------------ Peace KL |
I wasn't feeling the first episode, but the second one got a little better. I was expecting more, but I'm willing to give it a chance. If we don't, who will? I will agree that Tisha needs to do something with that hair! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif
Oh, one more thing. Did anyone see Drew's April Fool's episode after My Wife and Kids? [This message has been edited by AKAtude (edited March 29, 2001).] |
I too saw the show. It was okay. Some of the situations reminded me of things that I've seen on Cosby or other shows, just with an edgier kick to them. Oh and y'all keep mentioning Tisha's hair, I saw Skool Dayz recently. Man she looked a mess in that movie. I know y'all know what I'm talking about. If you haven't seen the movie in awhile, you need to go rent it. You will laugh by just looking at actors who were just getting there start.

It's a pretty decent show. I'm sure it'll get better with time. I liked the first episode a little more than the second but they both were okay. Now I don't care for Tisha Campbell. I felt like I was watching "Gina Waters" the whole time. I also don't care for the oldest daughter at all. But Damon, the son, and the youngest child are very funny.
|
It was G!!!! you know I too was racking my brain and bugging my hubby trying to figure out who that child was..
I think the show was OK--But I felt the same way about Living Single and later I really liked it ------------------ IVY in my HAND-- AKA in my HEART [This message has been edited by loviest95 (edited March 29, 2001).] |
I guess I expected too much. My personal opinion is that Damon Wayans does not know how to act. I know it had its funny parts but they need to take that attitude out of the oldest girl. G is looking good. N4L, I watched school Daze this weekend and I feel ya on Tisha. All that blonde, red, brown or whatever color hair it was was too much. Sam Jackson and his friends with that Jheri curl bag on should know better. Speaking of School Daze, has anyone checked out the article in BVQ called "Spiked Punch"? It speaks on how School Daze and a different World in their second year showed how it really was on a black campus? It is really good. They also have an article speaking about a movie coming out that shows what marching bands have to go through to be accepted. You guys should check them out.

I thought the show had its moments. I liked the part when the son tells Damon he didn't lie to them because they asked if he had "a" tatoo and he said no because he has two, not one. Then Damon was like, "OK, Bill Clinton." That got a laugh out of me. |

I'm not sure I even want to watch this sit. com. because I feel it's nothing but a replacement of the Hughleys.
They canceled the Hughleys because they didn't like D.L. and now they are trying to get back the audience they lost as a result of the show moving to a different network. ABC should stand for "A Bunch of Crap" |
Serenity, I usually watch "Who's Line Is It Anyway" but I've never seen Drew's show. Although I didn't see the entire April Fool's episode (yep, I didn't want to miss "Boot Camp" so I feel ya), I got a few laughs.
One moment the camera was on the cast, then the next moment, Gary Coleman is acting Drew's part, Jimmy Walker (JJ from "Good Times") was someone else, Kim Fields was wearing a blond wig as the female character, and the black guy from "Designing Women" was someone else. I think Thea was playing Mimi's character, but I'm not sure. I noticed pictures hanging upside down one minute, and turned around the next. In the opening credits, they slipped in stuff from old tv shows like "Welcome Back, Kotter" and the show from ABC with Cousin Larry and the cousin from Russia(?). It was kind of cute, but you had to have a good eye to find all the things wrong with the episode. You would have to be a regular. |

Anyway, sounds like it was funny. |

I do believe that was the name of it ------------------ Peace KL [This message has been edited by kiml122 (edited March 30, 2001).] |
Is anyone still watching the show?
|
I am. get a few good laughs in like the second episode last week when the son got a muscle spasm in his penis from 'using' it too much.
|
I was http://www.plauder-smilies.de/rofl.gif http://www.plauder-smilies.de/rofl.gif at his spasms.
As I said in the DST forum, I like it. Sure there are kinks to work out just like in most shows but I will continue to support it because it shows an intact family. I love the youngest daughter. I agree it is great to see G all grown up. |

I just hope that it continues without adding all these whites to it. Can we ever have fried chicken without adding poison to it. Sooner or later it'll be on WNAB which stands for "WE N***** Are Bad". I hope it turns out well
