Girlie Thread Alert!! OPI's New "Greek Isle" Collection
 

Since all of us are either greek or greek-friendly, I wanted to post about OPI's new "Greek Isle" collection which is coming out at the beginning of February. The pictures are gorgeous, and I love the names! 12 new shades:

Aphrodite's Pink Nighty - a light pink frost
Calling all Goddesess - frosty white
Cream of Greek - a matte cream color
Dancing in the Isles- soft peach frost
Don't Socra-tease Me - a vivid orange shimmer
Greece Just Blew Me Away - a mediterranean blue shimmer
It's All Greek to Me - brilliant fuscia shimmer
Melon of Troy - apricot frost
Purple-opolis - vibrant violet shimmer
Redipus-oedipus - dramatic red shimmer
Ti-tan your Toga - a shy beige creme
To Eros is Human - reddish-pink shimmer

my all-time favorite OPI color was "vampire state building" from their new york collection a few years ago, but of course they discontinued it. last christmas when i was visiting my parents in santa fe the nail place my mom goes to had a new bottle so i was able to buy it, but i'm going to be so sad when i run out or it dries out :(

my favorite is "I'm Not a Waitress" but I haven't seen it in a while.

My previous trip to the nail salon I had her put on "I'm not really a waitress!!" My favorite collection so far is the British Collection...favorite color being "God Save the Queen's Nails!!!"

They WHAT?!?! :eek: That's my Toenail Color!! What am I supposed to do now??? :mad: That's the only thing about OPI that I hate...they discontinue colors after a while. Otherwise, I love love love love OPI! Such cute names they come up with. ;)

they discontinued it at least 2 years ago, it was only around for a limited time when the collection was out..

"Don't Socra-tease me" is such a cute name!

They still have "Really I'm not a Waitress" at stores near me occasionally, but it is difficult to find lately.

I've always liked "Pompeii Purple" (which is really pink, go figure) as a fun summer toe color - it looks great with jeans or a cute sun dress, and nothing's better with flip flops by the pool!

Does anyone here like Essie polishes though? I think they are a better consistency and they have lots of cute, neutral colors that you can wear everyday - really sheer light pinks that give your finger nails that nice well-kept look without being tacky.

My favorite Essie color is "Scarlett O'Hara" - a pretty red/burgundy with a bit of sparkle.

No way! I've been buying it at Foxxy Nails...I got hooked on it last May when I got a pedicure and that was the color I had the lady put on my toenails. I'd better go raid the store next time I go to town...

I love "I'm not really a waitress"-- I can find it at Beauty Brands, although it is really hard to find.
"Pompeii Purple" is a great summer color!

OPI makes the best polish ever.

I LOVE OPI! I keep "Altar Ego" in my purse. I usually wear that color with a design airbrushed over it...

that reminds me...gotta get my nails done tomorrow!

i just saw the new shades in a magazine. they look great! i really don't have a certain favorite shade by them, there's just so many that i love!

then they probably just ordered a lot when they were on the market, because they aren't even available on OPI's website and haven't been for as long as i can remember..(believe me, i checked as soon as i couldn't find it in the stores..)want to pick me up a bottle too ? :)

another color i LOVED was this lavender color from the italy collection called venus de violet, but of course they discontinued that one as well...

I've never tried OPI before. How would you rate it compared to, say, MAC nail polishes (the old formula)

Ebay currently has 15 listings for "I'm not really a waitress", Five for "Smokin' in Havana", and 11 for "Chick Flick Cherry".

OPI is the best, but I've also love Victoria's Secret brand nail polish. They have great colors and it doesn't chip!

Great polishes. I love peach colors, so I think I'll have to try the new one in the collection. Right now, I have Japanese Rose Garden on my toenails. Tonight, I am going to either put Las Vegas Strip Poker (a frosted nude) or Ulta Twinkled Pink (a custom color available exclusively at the Ulta chain) on my fingernails.

I love the Las Vegas collection. Right now I have Hawaiian Orchid on my nails and then an airbrush design over it...got them done yesterday

I am addicted to OPI! It's all I use now! I have Berry Berry Broadway on my nails right now. I also love in the summer this peachy-pinky-shimmery color Your Villa or Mine? My younger sister, who is also an AOII, is addicted to Pearl of Wisdom. I also love Mamma Mia, it is this pink-iridescent-like-shimmer that is so gorgeous. OPI makes my nails look like butter darling.

I just bought Tutti Frutti Tonga and have it on right now. I haven't seen OPI lipsticks in the salons I've been to here, however. The salons do have a pretty good make-up line called Trucco.

My favorite right now is Italian Love Affair. I also like Thrilla in Brazila (or whatever they called it) and the one they put out at Valentines day last year that I think benefitted Breast Cancer. I think it's called Heart to Heart...
