Tom Joyner & AKA
Did anyone listen to the Tom Joyner show this morning? I typically go from station to station (a little news/current events from Tom & Tavis, then get my praise on with a local gospel station) and caught Tom saying something about "...sponsored by Isoplus and AKA" Did anyone else hear that and/or know what he was talking about?
Speaking of Tom...have you guys seen the spread of his wedding to Donna Richardson in Ebony? Who would cut off their little toe to wear that DRESS?!?!?! (((Eclipse raising her hand with no shame!!))) http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif And Tom's 'having no shame' behind changing into swim trunks too...umph, umph, umph!! Now he shoulda knowed (yeah I know!) better! But that whole swimming to the boat thing was kinda fly!! |
Naw, I did not hear it, I was too busy jamming to my Jill Scott CD.
If you all want to, you can log on to www.tomjoyner.com and listen to his shows... I will! |
What's this about cutting off toes and swimming ...please elaborate :-)

That was my (obviously feeble) attempt at humor! Donna Richardson wore a halter top with a low riding full skirt at their wedding. I was just saying that I would cut off my little toe (i.e. sacrifice almost anything) to have the body to wear such a dress. If you've ever seen her, you know she has the killer six-pack abs. Anyway, immediately after the ceremony their attendents held up some white sheets while they changed into swimwear!! After dancing a bit they ran to the ocean, (they got married in Jamaica) swam (is that the past tense of swim??? http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/eek.gif ) out to a boat and jumped on. It looked so exciting!! |
Eclipse,
I just got around to reading my Ebony the other day. From the article and the pictures, it looks like Tom and Donna had an extremely nice wedding. I liked a lot of the non-traditional aspects it, ESPECIALLY that dress! |
Am I the only black person in America that has never heard of Tom Joyner? Is his show broadcast in the New York City area?
If so, does anyone know what station? |
LOL ... Eclipse, I was so tired when I wrote that .... I now get the jokes many days later :-) HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!
|
sorry Sexy Mocha, Tom Joyner isn't in NYC. he's in all over the country, . but NYC refuses to get with it. if you have the computer software, check out his webpage for a listen between 6-10am. his show is better than coffee!
|
LadyAKA, I understand. My husband frequently tells me that when it comes to jokes I act like I rode the short bus to school!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/smile.gif
Hey WenD08! It's me, GRASSHOPPAH!!! http://www.greekchat.com/forums/ubb/biggrin.gif |

ROTFLMAO! |
Tom Joyner in NYC???
Yay! I have gotten so used to listening to his show, and enjoying it here at school that I didn't know WHAT I was going to do when I got back home! I can NOT listen to Hot 97 Starr and Buckwild in the morning. THey are some sick, sick individuals, and listening to their show has on one occasion made me almost physically ill! All the hatred that they spew....the black Howard Sterns of the radio! I remember when I was a kid listening to Ed Lover and Dr Dre on Hot 97, and it was something that was very appropriate for a 12+ year old. I would never let any child/teen I know listen to that show now! Yay Tom! |

It's coming on 11pm tonight over here. I'll have to check it out.
|
BOOOOO HISSSSSS to our Fox affiliate. TJMS on TV will premeire at 1:00 am tonight. So I'll be taping it!!
|
I will give a recap/review in about 2 hours (or more, depending on what I'm doing). It comes on at 7 p.m. in Charleston. I also watch his show (the Sky Show) on TVOne.
|
^^^^^
I just finished watching it with Mama and Stepdad Jitterbug. It was ok. They had Chante Moore and Kenny Latamore (sp) as the musical guests. They also have a comic act and an amuature act (like the Apollo). I don't want to give too much away. I will save the rest of my comments until later. |

I'll be interested to read the commentary from everyone. |
i think it can use some work. it seemed too long, too much like Showtime at the Apollo (which i used to love) and a bit too loosely organized.
it's very different from the radio show... just my .08:p |

My parents and I thought it was going to be more like the Sky Show (which comes on TV One, BTW). It did seem to drag out some and I was thinking "when it's going to be over?" From the pictures from the website, it looks like it's going to get a little bit better. They will have Babyface, Faith and Brian McKnight on in future episodes. |
