Snow!

Ok, I know I am a dork but it snowed in Western GA this morning! I walked out side to go do all these stupid errands and it was super cold and my car was covered in little snow flurries!!!! They were so small.

Tom Earp 01-10-2004 06:39 PM

Oh Poor Baby!:(

Hell move to TOTO Land, Kansas where we hate it as is mixed with ice and snow!

Now, being a Flatlander, I used to run Ski Trips to Colorado where it is supposed to snow so you can ski!:D

But, when you get stopped in the middle of Kansas because of this crap, it did suck! :(

The world is changing us, why, because God Hates us, not just Greeks But GDIs too!:o

Snow! We need at least one snow day in South Texas. Just one. That's all I ask for.

Even if its fake snow, I want somethin! Saw that there was snow today in Central Park, well, just a small portion of it. Not sure if it was man made, but I think so. We need to do that here. One big snow day.

It was man made.

Take a butter knike, open your freezer, and scrape the ice. That'll get you some mad made snow.;)

In was about 75 today in Los Angeles...I just got back from a hike and it was beautiful. I think I even got a little color - always nice to happen in January!

Jill1228 01-10-2004 08:44 PM

I got your snow RIGHT HERE! :p

This is the front of my house. Taken last week...the snow is finally melting

LA is sounding better and better! :D (Yup, I am a warm weather girl)

DeltaBetaAGD 01-10-2004 08:47 PM

I miss the snow! (sort of) When I lived in Indiana and Washington I used to love the snow. BUT hated the driving in it, etc. Looks beautiful though!

I don't see a house. I see snow with a roof.

Jill1228 01-10-2004 09:03 PM

That's pretty much it! Vancouver doesn't get snow that often but when it does...

Actually the house is a split level with a full basement. We are just renting it

SuperSister 01-11-2004 01:35 PM

I'm at the ver bottom of NC. Friday they sent the kids home early beacuse of weather conditions . . . there was no snow, nothing was freezing . . . There had been a tiny bit of snow that morning but nothing was sticking . . . I don't understand!

The_Nash 01-11-2004 09:40 PM

i saw snow for the first time the other day, and I must say I will take my beaches anyday over snow.

I completely agree with you. I don't think I could ever live anywhere other than Southern California or Arizona!!

Peaches-n-Cream 01-12-2004 12:07 AM

There are flurries in NYC right now.

LOL, maybe!

SATX*APhi 01-12-2004 05:48 PM

JILL, I want your snow!!!

aephi alum 01-12-2004 06:00 PM

I'm sick of winter! :(

Those "flurries" that Cream and mu_agd mentioned, were a little more than that in my part of Connecticut - like 4 inches. :( I telecommuted today... I may catch some flak from the boss tomorrow, but I'll be alive and well to hear it! Had a bad accident last winter, not anxious for a repeat performance.

More snow is falling now, and as of tomorrow we're back in the deep freeze. Lows are supposed to be below zero. LA is starting to sound very nice right about now...

ThetaGrrl 01-12-2004 06:23 PM

I loved the snow until it caused me to crash into the neighbor's front yard, resulting in over $1000 damage on my poor little car!

Booo! I hate you, snow!

ZTAMich 01-12-2004 07:01 PM

At 5:15 this morning as the alarm was going off I also heard the wonderful noises of snow being shoveled off the sidewalk. Wonderful if you like that "fingernails on the chalkboard" kinda noise.

And now during the commute home, it's trying to snow again!! :o

I want to fly south and wear my flips and  very very badly.

Haha! This is so true...I was at work the other day and my co-worker from Kansas was laughing at me because I came in with a wool peacoat, a wool hat, a scarf, and mittens and it was only 46 degrees at 7:00am and was complaining that it was freezing. He laughed and said I didn't know cold until I had to cover your face to keep by frozen breath from damaging my lungs. It turned out to be a warm, sunny 70 degree day but anything below 60 is COLD for this born and bred L.A. girl!

PM_Mama00 01-14-2004 01:47 PM

So I woke up at 9am to get ready for class and it was snowing like a mother. Decided to just skip class since I only had one for an hour today.

It's now 12:30, and it hasn't let up. And why OH WHY is my dear UMD still open? Cuz even if the Regents ordered it closed, as did on 9-11, Dearborn will still stay open.

Glad I don't have to drive through this.

Sister Havana 01-14-2004 02:22 PM

We haven't gotten new snow here (Chicago area) yet but it is a matter of time, I think.

PM_Mama00, I can relate...IU never, ever closed for weather or for 9/11 or anything. Ever. Even when everything else in the city or state was closed, IU was open.

AGDee 01-15-2004 12:31 AM

Detroit area got between 5 and 9 inches today, depending on where you were. I'd say I cleaned off about 6 inches of snow off my car when I left work. I work a couple blocks from Wayne State University. Left work at 3:45, right about the same time that Wayne State closed. Read: Commuter college, everybody making a mass exodus out with 6 inches of snow on the roads. Took me 45 minutes to get to the freeway (usually a 5 minute deal). Took a total of 2 hours to make my usual 35 minute drive.

Pick up the kids from latch key and my son says "one of the kids in my class said the 's' word today!". I said "Snow?". He said, "NO, the REAL 's' word!". I told him "Snow IS the real S word honey".

I hate snow, I hate cold, I hate winter, I want to move to Hawaii.

Dee

There's probably 5 inches of snow on the ground already, and it's still coming down. Schools are all closed.

Guess who's telecommuting today...

The ONLY reason I didn't mind coming in to work today is b/c it is PAY DAY!!! Other than that, BOO HISSS to the snow and the 10 degrees that came with it. It's gonna be totally brutal tonight with temps. feeling like 20-40 below zero.

mu_agd 01-15-2004 11:20 AM

the low in boston for today is -9. it's about 3 right now. with windchill we're supposed to be at -20 and tonight it's supposed to be between -30 and -40 with the windchill. plus it's snowing. this is not fun. i so want to be at home in my bed right now. plus, two of three doors to my apartment building were frozen shut this morning. two other girls and myself were wandering around trying to figure out how to get out.

Peaches-n-Cream 01-15-2004 02:30 PM

It is freezing, but they cleared the snow. I haven't gone outside yet today, but I have to attend a conference later. I am not looking forward to it. BRRRR

They usually do a pretty good job at clearing the snow in Manhattan. The other 4 boroughs continue to look like "Winter Wonder-Hell" though. :( :(

Munchkin03 01-15-2004 04:39 PM

Don't wanna go back to schooooool...

It's 60 at my house right now. I don't even want to know how cold it is in NYC.

PhiPsiRuss 01-15-2004 04:45 PM

Tropical Manhattan

Its a balmy 17ºF here on Manhattan. When I woke up, there was snow on the ground. At times today, the wnd has been blowing upwards outside my window, and it appeared as if it was snowing from the ground to the sky!

I hope that they clear the snow from your neighborhood soon. :) I'm from Queens so I know what you mean. Fortunately, I grew up on a busy street so they cleared that quickly. A few blocks away one side street was closed for a week when we had all that snow last year. The trucks couldn't clear the street quickly enough and then the snow froze solid.

PM_Mama00 01-17-2004 01:00 PM

Hey guess what's goin on in Downriver Detroit again?

Another 3-4 inches? Ding Ding Ding! You win!

PhiPsiRuss 12-16-2004 04:33 PM

Snow Bump

Guess what we're getting on Monday?

cashmoney 12-16-2004 05:18 PM

WTF!?!?!? The weather man said we might get snow in Jacksonville, Florida by the 1st of next week.
