The Apprentice

I think people are going overboard w/ the reality shows lately, but I think I might enjoy this one.

ADPiAkron 01-08-2004 12:01 PM

I have my remote reminder already set so I do not miss this one! I love reality tv though!!

ZTAngel 01-08-2004 12:10 PM

Is it on tonight? I've been wanting to see it.

Dionysus 01-08-2004 12:14 PM

Yes, 7 or 8 pm on NBC, I think.

CutiePie2000 01-08-2004 12:29 PM

I plan to tune in, although I have to say the name of this thread should really be:

The Apprentice - do you watch it? ;)

Sincerely,

i believe it comes on right after Friends.

ZTAngel 01-08-2004 12:32 PM

Oh good! I can fit that in between Friends and Extreme Makeover! Fun night tonight for me!!!!

PM_Mama00 01-08-2004 05:36 PM

Jason is hot. Not to mention he's.... ok try to stay with me... Melissa has a sister... Jason is her sister's boyfriend... Melissa is my good firend/sister.

So Jason is my good friend/sister's real sister's boyfriend.

adpialumcsuc 01-08-2004 07:49 PM

Kay that hurts my head...
What is The Apprentice about? I am usually a reality junkie but I have been lacking in watching any TV lately

smiley21 01-08-2004 07:50 PM

i really want to watch it too

Gina1201 01-08-2004 10:18 PM

Why am I already addicted to this show??
Why don't I like Tammy Lee? Evil wench!!
What the HELL is up with Donald's hair??

Peaches-n-Cream 01-08-2004 10:22 PM

The Donald has notoriously BAD hair. He is a billionaire. You'd think he could buy a good haircut or wig. :p

I watched the show for a few minutes, but that woman seemed too snotty for me.

ZTAngel 01-08-2004 11:00 PM

My lil sis was over for a little while watching it. We couldn't stop laughing at his awful hair piece.

xok85xo 01-08-2004 11:00 PM

yea - i really don't dig tammy lee at all.

AXJules 01-08-2004 11:29 PM

Was Tammy Lee the trashy bitch that took a lunch break???
Hate her!!!!!

And the girl that made it out of the projects....Omarosa or something like that.....she's gonna be around a long time. She has grace, intelligence, and works hard.

DeltaBetaBaby 01-08-2004 11:57 PM

My $$$ is on Omarosa. I also like Bogie Howe and Amy.

SATX*APhi 01-09-2004 12:04 AM

This was an interesting show.

ADPiSAI 01-09-2004 12:27 AM

That Sam guy just bothered me the whole time.

Sister Havana 01-09-2004 01:24 AM

I had a meeting tonight so I missed it. Think they'll rerun this episode?

rho4life 01-09-2004 01:36 AM

I'm watching right now. I'm a little cynical, but why is that most of the girls are hot and all have great bodies. But the men.....while there's a few hotties, some are not so easy on the eyes.

I wonder what the cast would have looked like if they hadn't looked at picutres when they were selecting the people.

that being said, I'm gonna' watch! :p

MuAZD 01-09-2004 01:52 AM

13 week interview! I can hardly stand 20 min interviews! I felt the pressure watching this. Trump would have eaten me alive if I was on that show, although I wouldn't be chasing down bicyclers trying to get them to drink my lemonade so I'd probably do better than that David guy. Troy reminded me of a guy I used to work for at one of those companies that made you go out and sell crap to businesses in different cities (DS-Max I think was the company) They try to get you all fired up and get excited about walking around all day and say "I'm juiced by that" when all you want to do is punch them in the face. And Sam definitely needs someone to punch him in the stomach and tell him to shut up just like he said.

rho4life 01-09-2004 03:46 AM

Buh Bye! I didn't come from a family of millionares, but when some of those girls got to Don's "crib" they acted like they had never seen nice things before. Ladies, try going to a museum, priceless works of art are housed there, not just Don's imported flavor of the month girly. And "how long does it take to clean a place like this?" Ask the maids, not the trophy girl. Even if you come from a small town, I know they've got tv's there. UGH.

But, I'll still watch again.

Ms. MysticCat and I got sucked in and couoldn't turn it off, and we said the same thing about TD. And bad taste -- if you had hung around for more of the show, you would have seen his incredibly tacky, garish, gaudy, and way-too-overdone-on-the-gold apartment. Seriously, it made Graceland look something out of Home and Garden. And all of those women were oohing and aahing about how beautiful it was. Expensive, yes. Beautiful, nu-uh.

Seriously, those folks (especially Sam) need to chill out some. Tammy Lee is going to bring new meaning to the "b" word, and Sam is one high-powered a$$-kisser. We're already looking forward to next week.

I'm glad that Mr. Adrienne and I weren't the only ones to think this way about The Donald's penthouse. Actually, we thought it looked like a casino. (Specifically, the Bellage in Vegas.)

We're hooked too. Interesting to see what Trump et al comes up with for "interviewing" and testing of business skills, and how he evaluates people. Even though this is a "reality" show, there's a tad bit more intelligence in this one than most.

Adrienne
:)
Will someone please get some toilet paper for Sam's nose?

(edited because my grammar sux)

aabby757 01-09-2004 11:57 AM

I too got sucked in.

I hate Sam, I really do not like his personality at all.

I think Oasara (spelling) dresses very inappropriately and think she will not last long.

I was somewhat pleased they fired the MD/MBA because this is probably the first time in his life that he has not succeeded at anything. I hope that taught him a lesson. I don't mean that in a malicious way, it's just failing is something everyone needs to go through I think it's somewhat of a disservice to all those over achievers that never ever fail at anything.

I don't really know who I think has "what it takes" but the show is so ridiculous that I bet they will show everyone at their worst and at their best.

I also was a bit displeased at how soon the women used their "sex appeal," I wonder if that will end up biting them in the butt later on down the road.

smiley21 01-09-2004 12:19 PM

i fell asleep before it came on and didnt wake up until it was over. :( i cant wait until i quit my job next week and go back to a normal sleeping pattern

dzfan 01-09-2004 12:41 PM

I'm glad they kicked off the samrt-I have no people skills guy-up next the chick who took a lunch break while of the other catty women starved!

WCUgirl 01-09-2004 01:48 PM

You know, I had every intention of missing this show, and I would have had they not squeezed it in b/w Friends and ER. But I am definitely hooked. Hubby is too.

I'm so glad they got rid of that mba/md guy. He had no personality! And Sam really sucks. And I don't like Omarosa either. And hubby and I HATED Trump's apt. - it was too gaudy! But I liked the show!!!

Well, Bill Gates seems to only pay 3 bucks for his haircut...maybe it's trend amongst them, saying "I'm so filthy it actually looks like a hairpiece instead of my actual hair."

Hootie 01-09-2004 07:30 PM

I loved this show. Why? It's a little more practical and isn't about men and women "hooking" up (for once).

Last night was the first show but they said it will air on Wednesday nights...right?!?!

MeLikey 01-09-2004 10:39 PM

I'm hooked. Sam reminds me of this actor, anyone else think that? And if you did, who, because I can't place him. Tammy was ridiculous. The leader on the women's side got so flustered-- don't really like her either.

CutiePie2000 01-10-2004 12:28 AM

Okay, I don't live in NYC and I don't have a business degree, but I just don't understand why none of them tried any of these for a location:
-Central Park (hello, thirsty people exercising, cycling and rollerblading!)
-Grand Central Station (zillions of commuters)
-Times Square

And the men should have gone to the gay village and stripped off their shirts to sell their lemonade, because they would have made more money. (Women might be heebed out by shirtless men selling lemonade , but gay men would not).

Cream, you are from NYC, what do you think of these locations?
I would think that they have lots of foot traffic??

Peaches-n-Cream 01-10-2004 01:29 AM

I think it depends on the weather and the time of year. If the weather is hot and sunny, then Central Park is a very busy place. Grand Central is busy year round especially during rush hour 7 to 9 AM and 5 to 7 PM. Since it is indoors, the weather doesn't matter so much. Times Square is busy as are Madison Square Garden and the Javits Center when there are events.

DeltaBetaBaby 01-15-2004 10:56 PM

Damn, my opinions have changed since last week.

I thought Tammy was a bitch, and now I think that her attitude/style is what won the competition for her tonight.

I like Omarosa last week, and now I think she is a drama queen. Correct me if I am wrong, but she called Erika racist for using the phrase "pot calling the kettle black."

I still think Sam needs to go, and I almost wonder if he was kept around for entertainment value. I'm sorry, but there was no excuse for falling asleep.

Why did they have to fire the hot one???

SATX*APhi 01-15-2004 11:01 PM

Sam should soooo be fired!! What's up with keeping him around? Not only does he have no chance of getting the job, but he is an @$$ and his face doesn't keep me wanting to watch.

They fired a hot boy. :(

I don't know, but I still like Omorosa. I think both she and Erika both have issues, but Erika blows up. Why is it that she is the only one that has such a huge problem with Omorosa? When Omarosa suggested they draw names to see who would be in charge, Erika began shouting at here. Oh geez.

I like these 2 also, but that's probably cuz they're both Aggies.

Gig 'em Bowie and Amy!

Hootie 01-15-2004 11:07 PM

I cannot believe that slithering Sam was not fired. What a coward he is. Seriously, he's one of those types that if someone biffs up, he's first to go kiss the boss's shoes and say "So and So f*cked up" ::insert evil laugh::.

And wtf is up with Omorosa? That girl simply said it was like calling the kettel black and she goes off on a racism attack. She needed a nap cuz she just wasn't thinking (IMO) when she replied like that!

ADPiSAI 01-15-2004 11:24 PM

Ok, I missed it because I'm writing a paper (or pretending to anyway...)
Who did they fire tonight??

MeLikey 01-16-2004 02:46 AM

Trump fired Jason, aka hot boy. Though I don't like Sam, I knew Trump was going to fire Jason simply because his decision is based on who he feels caused the failure of the team. While it is stupid and unprofessional of Sam for falling asleep, it did not directly cause the failure. Jason should have met with the president esp. since the guys thought they should. Next week should be interesting though with Sam as the leader.
