SDSU Gamma Phi Beta Passes Away...
 

my friend who is dating the new president of gamma phi here at state just told me that one of the girls passed away yesterday. Her name is Liz Young...i dont know the specifics but aparently she got the flu... was real sick before she went home... the flu went into her brain...and she had a seizure... then she went into acoma christmas eve... and she passed away yesterday morning...
this is so creepy...i never knew that the flu could actually kill someone so young...

Thats horrible news to hear. My thought and prayers go out to her friends, family and her Gamma Phi Beta sisters.

Thanks for letting us know, I passed the information on to our Director of Communications.

Also, for those who are wondering, this year the flu has actually taken a number of lives and not just young children or older people. I know of two people in their 30's who died from it rather suddenly.

I was thinking the same, but none the less very horrible. ( I thank god i have that vaccine)

Bless her heart. My thoughts are with her families...

One of my friends died of the flu this year, too; she was 45. I think we have become too comfortable with these "normal" illnesses.

So sad. :(

The flu really can be a horrid illness. My thoughts and best wishes go out to her family, friends and her Gamma Phi sisters now.

....2003 has really been the pits for Gamma Phi Beta: Laurel Clark (Univ of Wisconsin Madison) dies in the Space Shuttle explosion; then Dru Sjodin (Univ of North Dakota) is kidnapped and probably murdered, now Liz Young (SDSU) dies from the flu.....:(

I am a very sad Gamma Phi....:(

The flu has been killing both young and old this year. Sucks!
