Spring Break 2004
 

I know...it's January and I'm thinking about Spring Break! All this cold weather and snow talk has my group of friends discussing Spring Break. We're talking about heading down to South Beach. I'm excited cause this will be my first Spring Break and my first trip to Florida. I never got to go anywhere as an undergraduate, so I'm going this year. Better late then never! :)

So, where's everyone going this year?

as of right now, my best friend and i are looking to do something in europ....like a london, paris, rome thing. or a cruise of the greek island....

I am going to stay with my best friend in AZ

I can't go off to anywhere exotic (and expensive) this SB otherwise I won't be able to hit up Chicago this summer.

I'm hoping that Mauna Kea will still be snowing. If it is, I'm going to the Big Island for SB.

Be careful on South Beach!!! I live in Miami, so I'm allowed to warn you about this ;) The place scares the hell out of me, to be honest. But anyway, one of my good friends visited me over the summer, and he and his friends stayed at a pretty nice hotel on South Beach... and they got robbed. As in, someone broke into their room and took a lot of money. So I'd recommend staying at a nice, reputable hotel on the beach, or staying at a place near it but not in the middle of it all. Oh, and if at all possible, rent a car, cause otherwise you're going to waste a lot of money on cabs :)

HOW LONG ARE YOU GOING TO BE HERE????? How much fun would I have with you??!!!

I'm thinking of either Florida or Cancun.

Oh and to answer the Q- I'm going the only place I ever go, Cancun.


If anyone is interested in going with some of their friends or just want to know where to go, I'm really familiar with the area. I also know a few people that can hook you up with no cover/free drinks etc. if you're into going out :D Let me know.....

Thanks for the advice! We're either staying outside of South Beach or in Miami. Nothing is definate yet. :)

I'll probably be there a little over a week (depending on how much $$$ I can save up). Centennial convention runs from July 17-21, and they're giving us a free afternoon and night during that time, but I'm most definitely staying an extra day or two to shop and get drunk.

Probably a cruise to Belize. But I really want to go to Disney World again. I'm like a kid in a candy store there!

I really wanted to go to Romania to work at an orphange through my youth ministry, but it's gonna cost me mucho $$$. There is one to NYC, and DC, but if I'm gonna spend lots of money, I wanna go far, far away!

Hey, if you're going to Rome, don't forget to stop by at Amalfi Coast and Capri Island (off coast Naples). I can tell you how to get there from Naples, via Pompeii using the Circuvesuvia to Sorento. It is WORTHED every minutes to spend your days in the Blue Mediteranean Sea ...

I will go to Boston area, I guess, try to find a full time position ... being a senior sucked! :(

One of our actives is from Brazil--so some of us thought we might bum around down there for a week, or go to Hawaii. But I think some *including me* are leaning towards Costa Rica.

I'm def thinking of going to Costa Rica. I've heard way too many good things about that island....I can't wait to go. It's gonna be me and 4 of my girlfriends.. We just have to get our tickets, which could be steep. I have my Orbitz deal detector looking for me though! What would you guys pay for Costa Rica? I was thinking somewhere around $400..and for those that are going to Costa Rica, where are you staying??

seeing as i already live in vegas, and its like spring break all the time ;) a bunch of sisters and some fun fraternity guys are thinking of going to san diego/LA for break .. either there or back to the loveeely east coast & hitting up charleston sc, ... ahhhh sun and relaxation either way :D imagine how nice it'd be if we could just be on spring break ALL school year long? :p

I hear this--but who's to say you can't break away with a few girlfriends for a long girls' weekend? My friends and I make an annual trip somewhere warm every year. We have hit Miami, done a cruise, Cozumel, but the past few trips have been to Tampa--perhaps Vegas this year--I love Vegas. Seeing as we are all separated all over the country, this is sometimes the only time we get to see one another all year.

IMO, you never get too old to take a spring break. :D

Dude, I've been 3 times for spring break. We went there to go surfing. If thats what you're wanting to do there, be sure to bring at least 3 boards. I broke all 3 that I brought. The waves snapped them in half. On our trips we paid 500$, but that was in 98, 99 and 2000.


This spring break I think I want snow, it'll be either Sweden or Switzerland.

What part of Palm Beach? I'm from there.

The Greek islands are really really really cold during spring break. Hardly anyone is there, except for the islanders. The bars & clubs are all closed until June. So if I were you, I'd nix Greece from your list.

Okay, so our plans have changed! We're now going to West Palm Beach (we got a really good discount at the Embassy Suites).

Cashmoney, since you are from there, can you tell me how close the hotel is to the beach and where all the action is happening? We're debating on renting a car and this will definately help the decision process. I'll appreciate any advice you can offer me! :)

I'm going to Chicago. I have family there so everythign will be free for the most part except for entertainment or anything I want to buy myself.

Next year will be LasVegas because I have family there too. :)

The library and the video store. =P I just take the opportunity to relax at home.

now that i'm out of school i don't have spring break to look forward to anymore (although the only place i went during school was mardi gras). however at the end of april i'm going down to Mexico for a few days; that will be nice.

I don't get a spring break now that I'm working. :( Have fun enjoying your time off everyone! I'm so jealous.

I will be visiting my friend in NYC during Memorial Day weekend. I guess that my spring break. :)
