ASUADPi 01-06-2004 12:21 AM

Brianna

polarpi 01-06-2004 12:22 AM

I can't wait to get it in the mail, then, and see your smiling face! :)

Yay for our famous ADPi GCer!

honeychile 01-06-2004 12:28 AM

I thought for sure that an arguement was brewing!

I can't wait to see your big ADPi smile, Brianna!! :)

LOL - Oh, there would have been a donnybrook, all right - but verbal jousting works well for us!

Well, that or thumb wrestling!

vandy_violet 01-06-2004 10:48 PM

My sister Julie Field is on page 35 and I also found out that the mom of one of my grade school classmates, Susan Smythe, is the executive director for our local RMH, and she's on page 41. My grade school classmate and neighbor was also in the first Adelphean I ever got last spring.

On a side note, I asked my family to start collecting can tabs when I came home for Thanksgiving and it is the cutest thing-even when we were on vacation, my parents were saving can tabs to bring home. We have such a ridiculous amount thanks to my parent's caffeine addictions.

honeychile 01-06-2004 10:53 PM

I still haven't received mine! *fume*

On the other hand, I had never heard of the tab thing prior to this forum, but I started collecting them, just in case someone would like them... I say that with the proviso that I don't drink pop unless I'm sick & drink some ginger ale - so the majority of these tabs come either from soup or courtesy of mr. honeychile!!

Don't fret....mine hasn't come yet, either....my fingers are crossed for tomorrow, though :)

I collected pop tabs at home, and my grandmother collected them for someone else, but ever since I had my surgery, I've stopped collecting them....don't have soda or soup often enough :(

As long as you're healthy!! ;)

I get a kick out of saving the soup ones - I can save the labels for the DAR & the tabs for ADPi!! :)

Woo Hoo!!!

FirstAndFinest 01-07-2004 11:50 AM

My pic is in there too! Wait - I can't remember if it's the latest Adelphean or not. I'm in the Convention edition. I'm the dork holding up my credit card as I purchased Violets for the Foundation. Don't remember which page, but know its on the left-hand side.

ADPiAkron 01-07-2004 12:05 PM

My picture is not in it, but my name is!! I am in the Akron Area Alumnae Section!

PS: My initials are AK!

polarpi 01-07-2004 10:14 PM

Yay, it finally came! It was great seeing all of our famous ADPi GCers in there....Brianna, was the picture from your trip out here in October, or earlier last year?

honeychile 01-07-2004 10:37 PM

*drums fingers*

Obviously, I did not tip my mailman enough over the holidays! I am still sans Adelphean!!

At what point may I call HQ and ask for a replacement?

polarpi 01-07-2004 10:46 PM

I'd say wait and see if it comes tomorrow, then if not, call HQ and ask for a replacement (do they even send out replacements???)

Of course, I have mine sitting here, so it's easier to say that :p :D

i just emailed my friend Pam to ask how long I should wait. Poor Pam - she must think that I consider her an authority on all things ADPi! :D But I love her to death! If any of y'all are lucky enough to meet her at a Convention or whatever, make sure she shows you pictures of her gorgeous dogs - the most beautiful Samoyeds I've ever seen!

ASUADPi 01-07-2004 11:51 PM

Polarpi, the picture was actually taken in July when I went to California. What is funny is that everyday we were there either we were A) meeting a ADPi or B) being told by someone that they knew an ADPi.
We met Carrie our first day there. Our second day there we were trying to get on a ride and a girl asked what school I was an ADPi at and she mentioned she was from Cal State Fullerton, Amy and I were like "okay this is weird". And the last day we were there we met Lauren (hence the picture). It truly was an ADPi vacation!!!!!!

That's awesome! I need to get out more and meet more of these lovely ADPi's we've got all over California! :D

honeychile 01-08-2004 09:31 PM

My Adelphean arrived!!!!!!

Brianna, you are soooo cute!!! That picture is adorable!!!

AkronADPi, you're not so anonymous now, either!!!

I think one of my pledge sisters is on page 4, the Wrigley Field photo. I'm pretty sure - it's been a while since I've seen her and I did hear that she lost a lot of weight. Sure looks like her, anyhow!!

I don't think my photo was ever in the Adelphean. My name was, as a runner up for the Dorothy Shaw Leadership Award and some other things, but I don't remember ever seeing my picture. Unless... it was taken once, for a campus award (the campus version of Dorothy Shaw), but now I'm going to have to see if it was used. *questioning the senility setting in...*

ADPiSAI 01-08-2004 10:10 PM

*taps nails impatiently*
where's mine??
It better come before Saturday because that's when I'm going back to school...

I know my picture's never been in the Adelphean (neither has my name), but I've taken a picture that appeared in the Adelphean (I think it was either Fall or Winter of 2002)....it was of a few of my chapter sisters throwing pop tabs into the air and raining down on another member after our Pop-a-Thon the spring semester of my senior year....I was so proud of that picture! :)

kateshort 01-09-2004 11:51 AM

PolarPi, you always put a smile on my face. :)

I was in the Adelphean back when the Eta Psi chapter chartering banquet was held. I'm think I'm upstairs waaaaaay in the back.

ADPiAkron 01-09-2004 02:39 PM

My picture was in one of the first ones I ever received back in 1997. It was a picture of the APDIs that were in our Greek Songfest. We are wearing poodle skirts...it was a "Grease" skit. Other than that I have seen my name a few times.

Awww, thanks, Kate! I hope Eta Psi's recruitment is continuing to go well....please give my love to the chapter and tell them I can't wait to hear about the wonderful women who've become new Alphas of our sisterhood!

I'm sure you looked GORGEOUS in that chartering banquet picture...I'll never forget seeing that picture in the Gift Mart section of one of the Adelpheans as a picture that went in one of the frames they were selling....we're so famous! :)

ADPiSAI 01-09-2004 06:50 PM

yay, it came today!

cute picture, Brianna!

HBADPi 01-12-2004 03:15 AM

Yay for the adelphean! Mail is far and few between here so I love getting stuff to read! Yay for everyone who has pictures in this edition too. My picture was in it 2 years ago after the district III convention and I think my name was in it once too...that was back in the day when our PR position use to do her job and send it updates to EO about eta beta.

honeychile 01-12-2004 09:54 AM

I found two more Alpha Iota alumnae in the Adelphean! On page 9, the bottom picture, the second from the right and the second from the left are AI's!

Also, to those of you who've been to Convention, do any of y'all know JoAnna Shimek? Is she among the alumnae on page 4? I haven't seen her in years, and I've heard that she's lost a LOT of weight!

If you're talking about the pic of the alumnae at Wrigley Field, she's not in that picture. Ironically enough, she's my chapter's province director, so I got to meet her my senior year of college...I think there's pics of her on our chapter website....I'll go check! :)

ETA: Yep, there's a picture from our founders day celebration in '02....in the second picture is here (and incidentally, I'm in the first picture, the third from the right in the top picture)...here's the link:

It is such a small world!! I didn't know that she had been (or is she still?) involved with Valpo! From the diet success I had been told she had, I was thinking she was some sleek looking chickie - that's why I was hoping she was in the Wrigley picture! :)

I believe she's still the Province director and works with Valpo, but being an alumna I don't get all the low-down like I used to about what's going on with our regional officers :) If she's in the Wrigley picture, then I didn't recognize her!
