OMG, I cannot believe this. If its true, then it is insane! I hope it isn't just a publicity stunt.BRITNEY SPEARS GOT MARRIED IN VEGAS???

mullet81 01-04-2004 04:49 AM

SATX*APhi 01-04-2004 04:52 AM

I bet they were both drunk as a skunk and don't even remember the wedding taking place. She's funky like that.

sororitygirl2 01-04-2004 05:10 AM

WOW! That's crazy...

Sidenote: I'm sad to hear that Britney was hanging out at Rain and I wasn't there - I adore her! Last time I was in Vegas, Rain totally sucked...

She probably woke up with a magic marker drawn mustache on her upper lip. :)

LOL!!! that episode of 'friends' was funny.

1sd 01-04-2004 10:16 AM

I saw that too, I wonder can he take her for any of her money if he decides to contest the anullment. That was very stupid of her.

butterfly2001nc 01-04-2004 11:08 AM

what is going on with her? she is doing some really crazy things lately....is the stress getting to her?

this is just too crazy to even talk about.

honeychile 01-04-2004 11:22 AM

My fiance & I have a running "thing" about her (I told him that, if he ever gets a chance at her, to go for it - ala Friends!).

If this is true, I am really disappointed in the manner in which she did get married, and her attire!! Surely, she cracking under some strain or whatever. She's becoming spookily like Shannen Doherty...

JohnsDGsweethrt 01-04-2004 11:24 AM

i'm surprised i havdn't heard anything about this before. not one of her brighter moves...

Taualumna 01-04-2004 11:55 AM

You beat me! I just posted a thread on this too!

ZTAMich 01-04-2004 12:35 PM

If she and mister childhood friend consumated there marriage there is very little change for it to get annulled. Divorce may be the only way out for Mrs. Alexander.

Lady Pi Phi 01-04-2004 01:40 PM

It was front page news in the Toronto Sun (crappy mainstream Toronto paper...which is more like a tabloid) and my mum read me the guys name...Jason Allen Alexander...and all I could think was Oh my god! She married George!

Hahahaha...Britney is nasty, I hope she can't get it annuled.

Actually, if one or both of the participants was "under the influence", the marriage can be annulled, at least in most states. Sorry to burst your bubble.

I know, I have serveral friend "married" in Vegas (I live in AZ, so going to Vegas was like a monthly thing).

But the artical never said they were wasted (or even had a drink, which is very likely they did) But it did say about thenm going back to their room for a "honeymoon"

Why would she need a publicity stunt? She's soooooooooooo talented.

GeoffZ 01-04-2004 03:04 PM

I don't think it's a publicity stunt. Just a VERY stupid drunk thing that she did. I'm sure it will annulled soon.

absolutuscchick 01-04-2004 03:10 PM

OMG, It IS true!!! One of my coworkers friends was talking to someone in Vegas last night and told us that she got married, I totally didn't believe her !! Now I do....if this is true, my admiration for Britney has majorly decreased.

Colonist 01-04-2004 03:22 PM

All I can say is damn it. Britney has no talent but she still has a killer body.

Munchkin03 01-04-2004 04:00 PM

In all of my drunken times, not once have I ever even entertained the prospect of marriage.

Are you sure that you're drinking enough? ;)

honeychile 01-04-2004 04:07 PM

Udpating: The Annulment is in the works!

and, in further Britney news:

Was she drunk when she signed this paper, too?

AOII*Azra-elle 01-04-2004 05:40 PM

I work at a radio station and they reported it on the news!
^

Edited to say: They reported that she was completely sober and had had nothing to drink. Hmmmm....I agree that it was a publicity stunt!

PhiPsiRuss 01-04-2004 05:46 PM

Note to Self

Don't marry celebrities in Las Vegas any more.

UKDaisy 01-04-2004 05:53 PM

haha, people.com said it was 5:30am.... lol, her mom is prolly wanting to kill her right now!

rayray 01-04-2004 06:18 PM

Why does Britneys life have to be the front page of newspapers,on radios and TV and on CNN!
I think this whole thing is ridiculous. My feeling is we dont know her so why bother...people do things like this all the time. I had a friend that was competely drunk and got married in vegas because they thought it would be funny( yea a lil dumb but they did it). So there are people out there that think its a funny idea, this time it happened to be Britney.

decadence 01-04-2004 06:54 PM

Thank goodness she saw sense!!! :D

I knew her and I were destined to be together!!

<...trots off to take meds>

SparkliiQTMTSU 01-04-2004 08:05 PM

I have never been drunk in Vegas *yet* but I know that I have been intoxicated many times and have never thought about just running off and getting married lol! poor Britney now its all over the news and this poor kid well he got to marry her for one day :) whos she gonna marry next???

Nichole

decadence 01-04-2004 08:08 PM

Me. :p

ZTAngel 01-04-2004 08:09 PM

cough publicitystunt cough

Can she please fall off the face of this planet? It would bring me so much joy.

butterfly2001nc 01-04-2004 08:32 PM

I did once. My Mr. and I were gambling in Shreveport, LA and we had been together for a long time and had talked about getting married, and I was super intoxicated and tried to convince him that it waould be so fun if we went and got married. Luckily, he's more of a clear-headed person than I. The blackjack dealer was all for it-she was really egging us on.

But we didn't. Thank god.

Peaches-n-Cream 01-04-2004 09:50 PM

I met a guy at party who asked me to fly to Vegas and marry him. Needless to say I declined. :p

AlphaXi4983 01-04-2004 09:54 PM

according to CNN, they were both sober and it was a joke that just got out of hand....

MeLikey 01-05-2004 01:42 AM

Yeah I heard it on this news radio station... first it was all over the newspapers about her being drunk on NYE now it's this.
