I heard on the radio B2K has disbanded. Has anyone else heard this also?

They did break up, but they didn't say why. Girls have been calling the radio stations in Chicago for the last two days like they lost someone in their families. We didn't act like that when New Edition broke up, did we;)

That's because they didn't, not really. Well darn, the one day I DO listen to morning radio, I miss the big announcement. THANK GOD I am out of the classroom...I know those children are in mourning! |
I have been out of the scene since 12-23, and I'm just back to owrk today. Well B2K was to do a New Year's Eve concert here in Philly, and it was canceled because they broke up. I heard a little snippet about it this morning on the radio on my ride in. Apparently there was a lot of tension in the air amongst the members, and the stress leve was way to hi, so they broke up. I did hear that one of the members has to have back surgery, but when I caught the tail end of the snippet about which member. Apparently ego's got in the way. They really need to work that mess out. Blwoing off tours, and this is how they really mkae their money. They really need to take a look at groups of the past and see that they really need to stop tripping and work that mess out.

No news....

Scoop on B2K from MTV.com
Are B2K Breaking Up?
B2K fans have a new reason to scream over their favorite group, but unfortunately it's not in jubilation — they're yelling in angst. For the past few days radio stations have been saying the foursome has split. Could it be that the "B" in B2K can now stand for "broken," as in the hearts of girls across the country, because Omarion, J-Boog, Raz-B and Lil Fizz are breaking up? Here's where you need Columbo or maybe just a good lawyer to figure things out. On Monday morning (January 5), longtime B2K manager Chris Stokes released a statement saying that the act he was instrumental in putting together had disbanded because of something B2K's rabid following would deem unfathomable: the seemingly tight-knit collective had fallen victim to inner turmoil. "We've had a great run together making hit songs, albums and now movies," Stokes said in the statement. "The kids are growing up and are interested in pursing their own careers. I have enormous respect for each of them, and I wish them success in their pursuit of their individual careers. B2K was an extremely talented singing group that will surely be missed." Stokes also said he would continue to guide the career of the group's lead singer, Omarion. Here's where the situation gets sketchy. Pictures have surfaced of the remaining B2K members at a contract signing over the weekend with the sports and entertainment company CMX. Cozying up at a table together, the three don't look like they're ready to split from each other anytime soon. CMX chairman Antonio Demetrius Brown was unable to be reached for comment. Whether Stokes' declaration of the group calling it quits holds true or whether Omarion is just vying to go the solo route remains unclear. A spokesperson for their label, Epic, had no comment. B2K as we've known them for the past few years had the strongest following of any male R&B group in the market. Their movie "You Got Served" hits theaters at the end of this month, they released the film's soundtrack shortly before Christmas, and they had scheduled auditions for their next music video later this week. In the middle of a short tour, the quartet postponed its remaining dates on the eve of Friday's show at New York's Beacon Theater, claiming an injured Omarion as the reason. Prior to Stokes' announcement, the foursome revealed plans for solo projects from Omarion as well as Lil Fizz later this year. There's no word yet on whether those albums will still come or if the joint LP between B2K and Bow Wow that was beginning to take shape will see the light of day. —Shaheem Reid |
Ashanti Gets 'Carter' for First Film
By Chris Gardner LOS ANGELES (Hollywood Reporter) - Grammy-nominated songstress Ashanti is headed to the big screen for the first time, scoring a supporting role in "Coach Carter," a fact-based basketball drama starring Samuel L. Jackson (news). The Paramount Pictures project revolves around Richmond (Calif.) High School coach Ken Carter, who made national news in 1999 when he benched his entire undefeated basketball team for poor academic performance. He forfeited two league games and made the gym off-limits until students raised their grades, a move that drew praise and criticism from parents and school officials. Ashanti will play Kyra, the newly pregnant girlfriend of one of the basketball players to be played by Rob Brown of "Finding Forrester" fame. Robert Ri'chard (news), a series regular on "One on One," also has joined the cast, landing a meaty role as Marcus Carter, the son of Jackson's character and one of the team's top players. Shooting is scheduled to start this month with Thomas Carter ("Save the Last Dance") at the helm. Ashanti's second album, "Chapter II," debuted at No. 1 on the U.S. pop albums charts in July, and the singer will vie for three Grammy Awards next month. Reuters/Hollywood Reporter |

By ADAM GOLDMAN, Associated Press Writer LAS VEGAS - Pop star Britney Spears (news) married a childhood friend from Louisiana in an early morning ceremony, but quickly arranged to have it annulled, people close to the entertainer said Sunday. The 22-year-old Spears and Jason Allen Alexander of Kentwood, La., "took a joke too far by getting married" Saturday, her record label, Jive Records, said in a statement released to "Entertainment Tonight." "Ms. Spears and Mr. Alexander have filed for an annulment which will become official on Monday," read the statement by Sonia Muckle, Jive's vice president of publicity. George Maloof Jr., owner and operator of the Palms Casino Hotel, said Spears and Alexander got married about 5:30 a.m. Saturday at a Las Vegas wedding chapel. "Nobody knew it was coming," said Maloof, Spears' good friend. The two arranged an annulment Saturday afternoon in the presence of several people, including a Las Vegas lawyer, said a source close to Spears who spoke on condition of anonymity. The signed annulment will be filed when the courts open Monday morning, the source said. Spears and Alexander journeyed by limousine to the Little White Wedding Chapel on the Strip after a stop at the Ghostbar, a club in the Palms Casino Hotel. The chapel staff told the couple they couldn't get married without a license, so they were taken to get a license and driven back to the chapel, where they were married. The bride wore a baseball cap and torn jeans down the aisle and was escorted by a Palms limousine driver, the source told the AP. Maloof denied rumors that Spears was drunk and had to be carried out of the Rain nightclub inside the Palms on New Year's Eve. "I was with her the whole night," he said. "None of those reports were accurate. She was just having a good time." Spears was still staying at the Palms and was expected to leave Sunday. Employees at the chapel declined comment. Alexander was back in his hometown Sunday, according to his grandfather, Robert Alexander. "He'd been through a lot. We picked him up in New Orleans coming back and he didn't have much to say," the elder Alexander told "Entertainment Tonight." "I wish them well," he said. "Whatever happens, happens." He said Spears and Alexander had also spent Christmas Eve together. Calls to Alexander's family home in Kentwood were answered by a machine. His grandmother said any details about the wedding would have to come from Jason or his father. "We know about the wedding and stuff. It's all over the news," Betty Alexander said. Spears released her fourth album, "In the Zone," last November. It debuted at the top of the album charts. She begins a concert tour March 2 in San Diego. |

Basically they said Chris Stokes wasmad shady and tehy'd refused to believe the rumors about him but they did research and found out it was true. So they decided on new management but Omarion is sticking with Stokes. This causes a problem because MH (Omarion's older brother) owns the company with Chris Stokes and one other person so basically B2K feel like Omarion could have known about the shady dealings. Their words (or at least Lil Fizz's) were "We felt like we had been raped... If Omarion wants to stay there and continue being raped then.." I was like "Dang it's that serious????" I'll miss them although they say if Omarion comes over to their management then B2K will still be a group because they own the name. I doubt that'll happen though. ETA: I love outkast but they are a little much sometimes. |
Still no article but from Russ Parr's MB:
From what i heard on the radio, it is supposed to be interactive. You choose the female and the place for the sexual activity, but 50 is not in the dvd. ( I heard the same thing but I had just woke up and was trying to hit the snooze button). |
They reported on the radio that Omarian's solo CD will be released in March. Yep, shadiness!

I caught 106 and Park yesterday and J-Boog, Razz-B, and Lil Fizz were on there. They stated that they have signed with a new advertising company, but they are now self managing themselves. Also J-Boog who is the first cousin of Omarion and MH stated that they made absolutely no money from the Scream 2 & 3 tour...dayum. Also as I had known before Chris Stokes is Razz B's couisn...now what kind of madness is that.....all this shadiness right there in the family.

P. Diddy Recruits Eminem, 50 Cent For 'Victory'
Don't think P. Diddy is going to celebrate Bad Boy's 10th anniversary this year with just one of his usual soirees filled with his millionaire superstar friends. While the Cristal is sure to flow at some point, P.D. is currently gearing up to release a Bad Boy 10th anniversary CD/DVD on March 9, the seven-year anniversary of the Notorious B.I.G.'s tragic death.
The label is keeping a tight clasp on information about the album, but a source close to the project has revealed one bit of blockbuster information. Diddy is working on a remix of his Biggie-featured track "Victory" for the LP, but this new version will feature even more guests — Bad Boy is in the process of securing vocals from Eminem, 50 Cent and Lloyd Banks for the cut. The DVD portion of the project is said to document Bad Boy's historic rise as a company. The birth of his label isn't the only anniversary Diddy will commemorate in 2004. It's been 20 years since the newest — but most experienced — members of Bad Boy, New Edition, made the jump from the small Warlock Records over to the major MCA and released their self-titled album, which featured the hits "Cool It Now" and "Mr. Telephone Man." New Edition are just about done with their latest LP and in the midst of choosing a leadoff single. Ralph, Johnny, Mike, Ronnie and Ricky are on schedule to have an album on shelves May 11. Before N.E., Bad Boy is slated to put out Carl Thomas' second LP, Let's Talk About It, on March 23 and new album from 8Ball and MJG on April 27. Bad Boy's Da Band haven't announced a release date yet, but the six-person collective is in the studio working on its sophomore LP. Don't be surprised if you hear whispers about a Mario Winans project sometime soon as well — he's working on his debut, and a song with P. Diddy called "I Don't Wanna Know" is already on some radio stations and mixtapes. —Shaheem Reid |
Beyonce Puts Off Second Solo LP To Reunite Destiny's Child
Fans excited about the prospect of a new Beyoncé solo album this year are going to have to wait.
When the Destiny's Child singer recorded her debut, Dangerously in Love, she just couldn't hold back her creative output and recorded 45 songs. There was so much leftover material, she planned on issuing a quick-hit second album early this year. However, a spokesperson at Beyoncé's record label said on Wednesday (January 7) that she's putting aside her solo aspirations to concentrate on the next Destiny's Child album. Beyoncé, Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams have set the month of March aside to being recording their fifth studio album. That will give Beyoncé time to sing the national anthem at the Super Bowl and revel in her 2003 accomplishments at next month's Grammy Awards. Williams, meanwhile, is currently starring in "Aida" on Broadway. —Joseph Patel |

Do you all know that lady lied about losing the lottery ticket?
CLEVELAND - A woman who told police she bought and lost a lottery ticket worth $162 million all but admitted Thursday she made it up, saying tearfully: "I wanted to win so bad for my kids and my family. I apologize." AP Photo Reuters Slideshow: $162M Lottery Ticket Turned In Elecia Battle, 40, said she is dropping her lawsuit over the Mega Millions jackpot that was awarded Tuesday to 34-year-old Rebecca Jemison. Battle apologized to her husband, Jemison and her lawyer. "I'm not a bad person. I'm really not," she said. "Everyone has a past." Days after the Dec. 30 drawing, Battle filed a police report saying she lost the winning ticket, possibly when she dropped her purse outside a convenience store. She later sued to block Jemison from collecting the jackpot. Police in suburban South Euclid, where the winning ticket was sold, said Battle will probably be charged with filing a false police report — a misdemeanor punishable by 30 days to six months in prison and a $1,000 fine. "I think what she's saying is what everybody else is inferring — that she's lying," Lt. Kevin Nietert said. The Ohio Lottery said it knew the truth all along. Jemison provided another ticket bought at the same time and place and had a ticket that showed she had played the same numbers in the prior drawing, the lottery said. "We were confident with our decision from the onset to award Rebecca Jemison the $162 million Mega Millions jackpot, and we are pleased that this matter has been resolved," lottery Director Dennis G. Kennedy said. Jemison, of South Euclid, has an unlisted number, and a call to her accountant was not immediately returned. Battle said she wanted to use the money to help her family and recently laid-off Cleveland police officers. "I wanted to win," she said with a shaky voice. "The numbers were so overwhelming. I did buy a ticket and I lost it. I wanted to win so bad for my kids and my family. I apologize." When she was asked directly if she lied, Battle's lawyer, Sheldon Starke, refused to let her answer. Battle has a criminal record that includes assault on a drug store clerk and misuse of another person's credit card. |

Beyonce news
Are wedding bells in Beyonce and Jay Z's future?
Pop beauty Beyonce Knowles would reportedly have to marry rapper Jay Z to keep a promise to her mother. The religious Destiny's Child diva was brought up strictly and promised her mother Tina she would not show affection to a man in public unless she was prepared to marry him. The chart-topping pair very publicly displayed their love for each other during a recent holiday in the south of France and Knowles' family in Houston are busy making plans for the impending nuptials. A family source says, "Beyonce has been very strictly brought up in a very religious family. "She didn't want to show any disrespect to her mother by being seen constantly draped over a succession of men. "Both her parents encouraged her into show business but they knew that a girl singer could get a bad reputation from being seen around with too many men. "She made a vow early on in her career that she would only ever go public on a romance with someone she was totally serious about. She vowed that she would be a one-man woman. "She has always been careful not to be seen in public with a man, but now that her family are assured that she and Jay Z are in love for good, she doesn't need to be so careful." Beyonce's matchmaking attempts rejected Beyonce is eager to help friend Kelly Rowland find Mr. Right, but Rowland is said to have rejected bandmate Beyonce's attempts, even though she's pining for romance. While curvaceous Beyonce is enjoying her romance with rapper Jay Z, the 22-year-old "Dilemna" singer has yet to find herself a serious boyfriend. Kelly says of Beyonce, "She told me about this one guy, and I was like, 'B, I'm gonna sit this one out. You know? I'm just gonna chill.' "I felt like if it's supposed to happen, then it'll happen. God will send me somebody special whenever the timing is right. So I'm just patient." Beyonce's diet slammed Beyonce has been accused of encouraging children to lose weight, after confessing to an unhealthy diet. She told a recent magazine interview she eats just six slices of tomato and four slices of cucumber for lunch - and now experts fear young fans will try to copy her. British Diabetic Associaton expert Dr. Wendy Doyle says, "People in the public eye need to be more responsible. They don't always appreciate the impact they have on young girls. "Children need their calories and nutrition for growth and development." The singer recently confessed she's so conscious of her weight, she takes a food expert everywhere she tours; "I have to. Photos make you fatter and television adds pounds. "I go through agonies to keep my stomach flat." |
