Fav. quote from FERRIS BUELLERS DAY OFF!!

haha. this is the best movie EVER!!! i have a million fave quotes form FBDO, but i'll just post this one-->

"Cameron is so uptight, that if you put a lump of coal up his ass, in two weeks you'd have a diamond." -Ferris

PhiPsiRuss 12-26-2003 07:40 PM

"Bueller, Bueller..."

BTW, the female co-star, Mia Sara, was my first girlfriend. Granted, this was in nursery school in Brooklyn Heights, but still true. Also, she was at my bar mitzvah, and I've got the photos to prove it!

Cluey 12-26-2003 07:45 PM

I'll go with the often quoted...

"Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while you could miss it."

FiReKraCkEr 12-27-2003 12:42 AM

"The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom. I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you a good phoney fever is a deadlock, but you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office-thats worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then so is high school."

Most def one of my all time Fave movies!

Peaches-n-Cream 12-27-2003 01:03 AM

I like when Ferris jumps on the float at the parade and sings, "Twist and Shout"

Cameron is pretending to be Mr. Peterson on the phone with Mr. Rooney and says, "You're an a$$hole."

Kevlar281 12-27-2003 01:35 AM

"Never had one lesson!" :)

ZTAngel 12-31-2003 09:58 AM

"I heard that you were feeling ill. Headache, fever, and the chills. I came to help restore your pluck because I'm the nurse who likes to.....SLAM!"

KellyO97 12-31-2003 10:00 AM

"I highly recommend it, if you have the means".

kdonline 12-31-2003 12:15 PM

"I weep for the future."

"i do have a test today, that wasn't bull. It's on European socialism. I mean, really, what's the point? I'm not European. I don't plan on being European. So who gives a crap if they're socialists They could be fasict anarcists. It still doesn't change the fact that i don't own a car. Not that I condone fascism, or any ism for that matter. Ism's in my opinion are not good. A person should not believe in an -ism, he should believe in himself. I quote John Lennon, "I don't believe in The Beatles, I just believe in me." Good point there. After all, he was the walrus. I could be the walrus and I'd still have to bum rides off of people. "

RioLambdaAlum 01-01-2004 11:03 PM

Okay someone already used one of my favorite lines, the one about life moving to fast, i have that on my web site as a sound wave too...but anyways since they used the quote i wanted to i will just make the comment that this movie is so about me and my brother and he of course was Ferris.

Actually, if you want to be technical, the full quote in context is, "Pardon my French, but you're an @$$hole."

Definitely on my top 10. Right along with the "lump of coal" comment at the beginning.

Almost forgot one....

Cameron: "It is his LIFE, it is his LOVE....."

Ferris: "It is his FAULT he didn't lock the garage....."

hehehehehhehehehe

Jeannie (on the house intercom):_ Whoever is in the house, or still in the house, I'd like you to know that I've just called the police!_ So if you have any brains whatsoever, you'll get your ass out of my house real quick._ I'd also like to add that I have my father's gun and a scorching case of herpes.

DolphinChicaDDD 01-02-2004 02:43 AM

Ok I have two!!!

"Ferris Bueller, you're my hero"
and
"When Cameron was in Egypt's land..."let my Cameron go!" '

I LOVE this movie. Did anyone else ever hear the theory that all his events really weren't in one day, but instead was a montage of all his 9days of absences?? Just something to ponder...

LXAAlum 01-02-2004 02:40 PM

I especially love the dialogue between Cameron and Ferris about Cameron's car being a piece of sh!t, where Cam says "No it isn't" but Ferris replies "Yes it is, but relax, I don't have a piece of sh!t of my own, so I have to admire yours."

Two reasons I love that exchange - I had the EXACT same car in high school, except for a black interior, and, Ferris came out in theatres right as I graduated, and EVERYONE thought I was Cameron's inspiration - Alan Ruck and I could be brothers we look so much alike. I even convinced a (OK, a really, really inebriated) sorority girl that I WAS Cameron in the movie, and that my income from it was paying my way through college.

Blast from the past. Wow. Good thread!

NinjaPoodle 01-02-2004 06:16 PM

Most of my favs have already been mentioned but I LOVE the ending while the credits are rolling and Mr. Rooney is all tattered and torn and he reluctantly gets on the school bus. The kids look at him like this http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/eek5.gif and this http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/eek7.gif then he sits down next to the nerdy girl no one else wants to sit next tohttp://www.handykult.de/plaudersmili...son/stkate.gif and she offers him some Gummy Bears. She says something to the effect of "They're nice and warm. They've been in my pocket all day." Mr. Rooney takes one and flicks it across the bus. Then, he looks to the kid next to him and see's the SAVE FERRIS on the notebook. All this with the music going on in the background "Oh Yeahhhh..."

Classic...

Peaches-n-Cream 01-02-2004 06:24 PM

That ending is funny! After the credits roll and Ferris Bueller tells the audience to go home, lol! I really love that movie. :D

NinjaPoodle 01-02-2004 07:27 PM

Oh..I almost forgot. I love the part where Ferris gets Sloan out of class and she's waiting in front of the campus w/Mr. Rooney. He's blabbing off about life and death and she's  while he's not looking. Ferris arrives in the hat and trench and she goes to meet him and (OK, I'm laughing as I type this:D) and they come face to face and kiss.

Ferris: Do you have a kiss for Dad-dy? *smooch*

http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/eek7.gifMr. Rooney: So that's how it is in their family...

When Mom and Jeanie get home after Mom picks her up at the police station. Jeanie bolts into the house, Dad drives up and meets Mom.

Mom: I lost the Vermont deal because of her.
Dad: I think we should shoot her.

The entire encounter with Charlie Sheen in the police station.http://www.handykult.de/plaudersmilies.de/laugh.gif

I took Geography AP my senior year of high school, and one of our big projects was to determine (using maps of Chicago) if he really could have done it in one day. I must say, it was a time-consuming project, but I really didn't mind having to watch the movie 4 or 5 times ;)
(by the way, half the class determined he really did do it in one day- my group included!)

CrimsonTide4 01-04-2004 12:49 PM

FerriS will be on at 11:45 AM EST on TBS today for all of you junkies!!

SATX*APhi 01-04-2004 02:39 PM

Random: This movie is on right now. :)

Mr. Rooney: Tell you what, dipshit. You don't like my policies, you can just come on down here and smooch my big old white butt.

Grace: Ed!

Mr. Rooney: Pucker up, Buttercup!

Grace: Ferris Bueller's on line two!

That quote always cracks me up!
I <3 this movie.

cutiepatootie 09-07-2004 05:20 PM

when jeannie was in the police station with Charlie Sheen and says something about it not being fair for him to get out of school( ferris) and everyone else has too

ThetaPrincess24 09-07-2004 06:05 PM

I like this line "Ferris Bueler you're my hero." After Ferris saves Cameron from his fake drowning.

I also like "here pocchie poochie! here pooch. Look what uncle ed has for you ya lil f&^%$#!" Regarding the dog at ferris's house after attacking Ed Rooney and someone delivering flowers.

AOIIalum 09-07-2004 09:28 PM

I love the end!

"You're still here? It's over! Go home!"

NeonPi 09-07-2004 10:34 PM

Okay, not a quote per se....

I personally love the shot where you are looking at Cameron sitting in his white car (thought I should clarify) when he is going to pick up Ferris the first time, then he gets out, goes behind his car and jumps up and down in frustration/angst, then walks back to the car, gets in and says "I'll go, I'll go , I'll go ....SHIT!"

Hilarious - totally know what he thinking!!!

CatStarESP4 09-08-2004 01:48 AM

Here are a few of my favorite FBDO quotes:

4,000 restaurants in the downtown area, I pick the one my father goes to. - Ferris Bueller after seeing his father and clients are about to enter the restaurant

This is her daughter....Do you know where she is?.... Well, do you know when she'll be back?.... Do you know anything? - Jeanie trying to contact her mother about Ferris

I am very cute, very alone and very protective of my body. I do not want it violated or killed, all right? I need help! Speak English? D*******!!! - Jeanie after finding Mr. Rooney in the house and called the police.

Ferris: If you aren't here in the next ten minutes, you can find yourself a new best friend.

Cameron: You've been saying that since the fifth grade.

Mr. Rooney, Ed, you are a beautiful man. I want to thank you for your warmth and compassion. - Sloane prior to being picked up by her 'father'

Parking garage attendant: I am a professional.

Cameron: A professional what.

Could you imagine someone as sick as Ferris trying to walk home from the hospital? Oh, kids! By the way Mr. Rooney, you left your wallet on the kitchen floor. - Jeanie when she talks to a beaten up Mr. Rooney.

Jill1228 09-08-2004 03:22 AM

One of my all time fave flicks. I gotta get it on DVD. Only problem...ya watch it and it is tempting to play hooky from school or work

Jill1228 09-08-2004 04:20 AM

Quote:

This is my ninth sick day this semester. It's getting pretty tough coming up with new illnesses. If I go for ten, I'm probably gonna have to barf up a lung. So, I better make this one count.

NinjaPoodle 12-20-2005 02:18 PM

When cameron is in bed and he says "I'm dying" and then Ferris calls back and says "You're not dying"

RedRoseSAI 12-20-2005 05:28 PM

Rooney - Soooooo THAT's how it is in their family.

Nurse - I heard that you were feeling ill
Stomach, fever, and a chill
I came to help restore your pluck
'cause I'm the nurse who likes to ......SLAM!

My friend Amy used to work as the English dept. secretary at the school where Ferris and co. supposedly attended (Glenbrook North). She loves the scene with the nurse because had the movie been real life, it would have been her that would have sent those flowers over to the Buellers.

Ok, that was really random, but it's funny to watch the movie with her. :)
