Clark was already being "groomed" to be the running mate for whoever receives the Democratic nomination...still too early to tell I think...
|
Hillary is a huge liability in a general election. You never want to reinforce negative stereotypes, and she would do that. Clark would be a much better choice because he would shore up some of Dean's weaknesses.
|
I agree with everyone about Clark, but it really won't matter who Dean picks if the economy keeps going in the direction it has been heading.
|
I personally would much rather see a Dean/Clark ticket over a Dean/Clinton...but the ticket I'd most like to see would be more Clark/Dean. ;)
|
Doesn't matter you democrats might as well start planning for who you will nominate in 2008...
4 more years! |
Clark has basically said straight out that he will not be Dean's running mate if it comes down to that, saying that Dean can't win and doesn't have enough experience in "national security affairs." Of course he might be singing a different tune if it becomes clear that Dean will definitely be the Democratic candidate . . .
|
I know Edwards and Dean are not really smug with each other... but I think Dean should ask Edwards. Since Dean is a Northerner, he needs a strong Southern running mate.

The Democrats lose the South even if they had a strong Southern running mate.

Being from a North Carolina school, and heavily involved with politics on the UNCC campus, Edwards is losing appeal very quickly. There are even bumper stickers out saying "I'm from North Carolina and I don't like John Edwards." In my opinion, the nomination will go to Kerry or Dean...I'm not sure what Clark will end up doing. Also, as much crap as I probably get for this, Clinton will not run in 2004 but you will probably see her in 2008. Love her or hate her, she's going to be around in politics for awhile.

Hilary would be a mistake. If he really hopes to be the president for the folks with the confederate flags and gun racks, he'd better choose someone southern, moderate, and not remotely associated with the Clinton administration.
|
I hope it will be a Dean Clark ticket because that sounds like a old rock and roll band or the guy who's in charge of a college.
|
Dean's running mate will not be one of the current candidates. When is the last time a Presidential candidate chose a running mate that he defeated in the primary? Too much blood is shed in the primary and it causes bad feelings.
|
How sad is this! When Hillary was mentioned, I immediately thought of Hilary! :o

And yes, I do have his #! :) Also, the past 4 Democratic Presidents were from the South... Right? |

unless the "Commonwealth" of Massachusettes has recently migrated south of the Mason-Dixon Line, i believe you are mistaken. Or, are you not considering JFK as a Democrat president? Please elaborate to add some sense of meaning to your post. Kitso KS 361 |

Just admit you made a mistake, it's much easier. Besides, if you go one Democrat past Kennedy, you come to Truman, who was from Missouri, also not a southern state. FDR, before him, was another Democrat, albeit from New York. In order to find the 4 last Southern Democrat Presidents, you have to include Clinton, Carter, LBJ, JFK and then back to Woodrow Wilson. Although Wilson ran for governor of New Jersey, he was born in Virginia and was by that fact, "technically" a southerner. LADIES AND GENTLEMEN!!! I MADE A MISTAKE!!!!
I said '4' instead of '3'. I'm sorry, I will never EVER make that mistake again. I am wrong and I can never compare to the political intelligence of others here on GC. Please let me grovel at your feet and beg for mercy, for I am just a dumb 21 year old who made a mistake. I MADE A MISTAKE!!!! I hope that makes some people feel better ;) P.S, it took me 30 minutes because I took out all the 'not-so-nice' things I was going to say. But, I decided to be a civilized, mature person about it. I guess being civilized and mature doesn't work with some people. Thanks, and have a WONDERFUL Holiday Season to all!! |

A GC Democrat supporter has admitted that they made a mistake. This is truly a watershed moment in GC history and will hopefully lead to an era where everyone, left or right, will be able to admit their mistakes and hold civil conversations. Then again, i won't be holding my breath. And you are forgiven for your mistake. But, you should know that your GC Democrat buddies have already established GC as a forum for serious academic discourse and all statements need to be supported with a citation of your sources in order to protect yourself from possible banning campaigns due to copyright violations. I don't know whether to LMAO or actually look up my sources. lol :) Blah... anyway, I have no problem admitting to any wrongs on my part. If only it was easier on some people I know. |

the citation of sources is a backhanded insult meant for others on GC. I was posting that in a sarcastic manner and it was meant to insult others, not yourself. I hope you laugh at it, because to me the idea of GC as a academic resource is laughable too. I do apologize for directing this sarcasm at you, it's meant for others. Kitso KS 361 |
LOL, y'all are funny!
