What happened to "Have you ever?" and the "Word Association Game" threads?

I knowww! :( We weren't too rude on it at all I didn't think! Not majorly.
'Random' is still there, plus word game (the small one where you make sentences) but 'have you ever' and 'word association' are, as Russell said, seemingly gone! :eek:

Let's take a moment.

So was the Word Association thread -- had me up over (an admittedly small) 320 posts or so, and now I'm back down below 300!

WTF!!! Why were those threads deleted???? Honestly I am so mad right now because I LOVED those threads. Why on earth would someone delete them?? What happened?? I want answers mods!!

I dont see the purpose in getting caught up with how many posts that I have posted.....or see the big deal about why any one else gives a hoot about how much they have posted either

I saw nothing wrong with the "have you ever" and the "word association game" threads myself.......so if they were deleted on grounds of being "stupid," "lame," "just a way to increase a number of posts," or "getting a bit risque" well then there are a great many other threads that should also be deleted on those same grounds inside and outside of the chit chat forum from the past and present, IMO.

Who cares? If you were just in it for the fun, you wouldn't care about the 2000 pages gone:D

I didn't complain about the loss of posts, but those were 2 fun threads that faciltated the interaction among GC members. I think that we deserve an explanation.

Hmmmm... I seem to recall a certain moderator bragging about being a post whore, but I can't recall who...:rolleyes:

It's okay, only 22 of my posts in the Word Association Thread were deleted. :)

Whatever. Anyhow....why were those threads deleted? I never got a response from a Chit Chat mod and I would love one. Thanks.

I don't know if increasing post count was ever the overriding factor in posting in those threads in fairness. The posters in this thread so far have generally been people well involved in the other forums too; active alums; founders, active brothers/sisters etc. They were fun, harmless (IMO), threads and their popularity stemmed from their availability as a tool to have fun with in the chitchat forum which is a place to kick back and have fun in rather than merely a way to have a higher post count. Which, once you get to be a 'senior member', doesn't amount to a hill of beans. :)

I was never after a higher post count. Either you can answer the question about why those threads were deleted and "Random" was not, or you can't. There is no need to cast aspersions on other people.

Don't know which mod deleted it, and I doubt if he/she will reveal his/her identity. That being the case, I doubt any of you will get the answers y'all are crying about. :rolleyes:

But hey Russell, if the shoe fits, right?

Geez guys.. if you liked it so much, start another. It'll get deleted every day. At least it'll be a fun thread:p

I think my post count took a pretty huge hit. No big deal though.

I liked Word Association.

It's because certain mods are sadly somehow really annoyed by the post whoring that goes on in those threads, as opposed to the post whoring that goes on in other threads.

I don't think that I ever posted in either of those threads but I think it's sad that anybody was THAT annoyed that they felt they required deletion.

If they were deleted they were deleted. THere is really nothing that can be done about it.

There might be an explanation given and there might not be.

You aren't "entitled" to one if you feel that you must get one and no mod is required to give one.


I never really posted on either thread in question but I knew about them and I don't really see what all the fuss is about. There are thousands of other posts on GC that help "people connect."

On the other hand, I feel it might be just as sad that anyone is that annoyed that they were deleted...

I don't think it's the deletion of those specific threads -- just the idea that threads are getting pulled not because they broke some board rule but simply because some mod didn't like them.

Like I said, I never posted in these threads and didn't read them but I hope it's not the start of a trend.
