Classic show of the week: Salute Your Shorts
 

I'm remembering an old Tv show every week you might have remembered as a kid or otherwise.

Anyone remember Salute Your Shorts on Nickelodeon? I always thought Deena was cute, and we have a guy who looks like DonkeyLips, and the asian version of Buttnick.

Watched it when it was on. Was a decent show.

did you know that budnick was sam on different strokes?

has anyone on that show done anything since then?

i loved that show! i watched part of the marathon when it was on the noggin channel during the summer.

i miss that show. i think i saw every episode. oh the memories:(

I use to watch that all the time. I love Noggin because you can watch all your old Nickelodeon shows like Double Dare, Finders Keepers, GUTS, etc.

There is a new member in my AKPsi chapter that looks so much like Budnick, that has become his nickname.........i had a friend in high school who we called Pinsky and another girl in our group who had the personality of ZiZi.


As far as what they have done since.........I think i remember seeing Michael in Pleasantville, small role..........I've seen Deena do a skittles commercial............I think Budnick was in Terminator 2 or something like that at the beginning. I havent seen the others in anything else.

Seems like a bunch of them went on to do Boy Meets World!

Ronnie Pinsky (was that his name?) -- anyway, the salami guy who took over Michael's role, he did a bunch of episodes for Boy Meets World in the early years. He played one of the bullies.

Telly (the really athletic one) was in Sister, Sister, Smart Guy, Boy Meets World and Family Matters.

Dina played Eric's interest in...you guessed it, Boy Meets World. I remember her doing skin commercials too.

I had the biggest crush on Michael! Too bad he was only on for one season.

Nickelodeon shows today just aren't the same. :(

Donkey Lips was on Friends. He played Monica's date in the prom video episode.

That's right! Back in one of her fat girl days... the one where Phoebe goes... "see? He's her lobster..."

I *LOVED* Salute Your Shorts! I totally wanted to go to camp there!

Ahh, the memories of junior high school and nickelodeon ;)

That show was simply unbelievable. I loved every minute of it.

I was for some reason strangely attracted to that show...

I don't know why but the first episode that comes to mind is the one with the environmental chick (can't remember her name) - she was all upset because people were throwing garbage everywhere. So she started this recycling program and everyone turned in their garbage for cash and they were all saving up to go to the waterslide. And she threw this party and made up this song and at the party everyone started throwing garbage around everywhere and they all got in trouble and she got really upset. Well, it turned out that all the rest of the group decided to use the money to buy a tree instead of going on the waterslide trip, and Budnick was like, "All right! One day I'll be able to use this tree for something" (can't remember that either) and that was how the episode ended.

That was one of those shows where you had to watch but you didn't want to admit it to anyone.

I also watched Hey Dude! I loved that show. :D

remember the episode with the scary plunger guy with the rubber mask? it scared the CRAP out of me as a kid.

i ATE UP the romantic tension between the cast...it was so cute.

also- Heidi Lucas, the actress who played Deena/Dina/etc. looks an AWFUL LOT like Kristen Kreuk, the actress who plays Lana Lang on the WB's "Smallville"... and she does skin commercials too...

I wonder if they're related...hmm.....

LOL, dunno if they're related, but they're both hapa -- Caucasian/Chinese.

My favorite episode was when Micheal was gonna get beat up cause he sqaushed this BIG dude's brownies that he had put in a dictionary. The funniest part was that Ug got poison sumac, and Micheal ended up eating the oatmeal Ug was bathing in, and yakked on the Big dude.

I loved that show!!!!!!

I also frequently enjoy the cheesy dramatic Degrassi: Next Generation goodness. I love that show!
