Golden Globes 2004

Nominations

http://www.hfpa.org/nominations2004.html

PhiPsiRuss 12-18-2003 02:17 PM

The only movie, nominated for Best Picture that I did not see, is Cold Mountain.

Lord of the Rings, all the way!

ADPiAkron 12-18-2003 02:17 PM

Sadly....very very sadly...the only movies on this list that I have seen are Finding Nemo and Bend it like Beckham! haha

smiley21 12-18-2003 03:54 PM

yay for Mystic River and Nip/Tuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

mullet81 12-18-2003 04:32 PM

Yay for Jennifer Garner and Allison Janney :)

GeoffZ 12-18-2003 05:55 PM

I'm glad "Cold Mountain", "Sex and the City", and "Angels in America" got a lot of nominations. But they could have given one to Justin Kirk from "AIA". It sucks that they put all the supporting actors/actresses from dramas/comedies/tv movies in one category. Someone always gets left out. I'm happy that Kristen Davis finally got a nomination, though. :)

MeLikey 12-19-2003 02:05 AM

Rooting for Lord of the Rings for Best Drama and either Finding Nemo or Big Fish for Best Comedy/Musical... didn't think Love Actually was all that great.

SATX*APhi 12-19-2003 05:24 AM

the last sumarai, something's gotta give, sex and the city, and will & grace, all the wya

A lot of people count the entire trilogy as one movie since it was done all at once.

I don't think LoTR will sweep.

DWAlphaGam 12-19-2003 04:53 PM

I hope Jack Black wins (even though he won't). That would be hysterical.

Peaches-n-Cream 12-19-2003 07:04 PM

I have not seen any of these movies. I think it is interesting that Scarlett Johannson was nominated in two categories for best actress. She must be happy.

GeoffZ 01-25-2004 02:10 PM

no one is talking about the awards! i missed the first 2 hours and the entrances

who has won awards?!? who looked gorgeous and who looks like crap?

ladybug1116 01-26-2004 12:25 AM

I think most notably Nicole Kidman looked weird with whatever was in her hair. The parts that I saw I don't think there was anything totally outrageous this year.

stagebear 01-26-2004 01:20 AM

charlize theron, uma thurman, molly sims, jennifer garner, debra messings, and queen latifa all looked beautiful.
nichole kidman's dress was less than impressive.
for the most part, everyone looked realy good. even the dresses i didn't like didn't look too bad on the actresses that wore them.

FiReKraCkEr 01-26-2004 02:12 AM

I dont get to watch it...sad...

But I just found out Sarah Jessica Parker got one for SATC..so I'm happy!

Here's a link that shows who got some of the awards:

It was a good show. I'm glad Sarah Jessica Parker, Angels in America, and Renee Z. won. Everyone looked pretty good. Uma Thurman, the Sex and the City cast, Charlize Theron, Marie Louise Parker, Jennifer Aniston, Brittany Murphy, and Catherine Zeta-Jones stood out for me. I wasn't feelin Nicole's dress (the front looked so weird). I kind of liked the headband though. And Sharone Stone looked like she was cracked out.

sororitygirl2 01-26-2004 03:23 AM

I thought Nicole Kidman looked beautiful! Her hair was sort of retro - she almost reminded me of a flapper-type girl...

smiley21 01-26-2004 08:43 AM

sean penn won for 'mystic river'!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! yipee!!!! and tim robbins won too!!!!!! i love that movie!

dzandiloo 01-26-2004 11:47 AM

Anybody on here ever seen "The Office?" After it won those awards, I'm curious, but wondering if it is TiVo worthy.

mullet81 01-26-2004 11:55 AM

all of the SATC girls looked gorgeous! I almost didn't recognize SJP with the dark hair! I did a double take!

diane lane looked absolutely stunning! i loved her dress

http://cache.eonline.com/Features/Aw...es/rc.lane.jpg

I was not a fan of nicole kidmans outfit. she really disappointed me - she's usually the best of the best

I got it on Netflix, and it's so funny. But it's very uncomfortable, I wanted to hide during the first couple episodes until I got used to it. You definitely should check the show out.

GeoffZ 01-26-2004 04:29 PM

That's a cute picture of Tom and the Girls. I really wanted him to win so there could be that moment on stage with him and Nicole. I forgot about Diane Lane. She looked good. JLo's dress was alright, but nothing special. And did you catch Elijah Wood in the green velvet suit? He looked like a leprechaun.

Optimist Prime 01-26-2004 04:36 PM

did anyone else notice that everytime they showed Nicole Kidman, they would always cut to Tom Cruise smiling? Especially when she was talking.

I noticed that too. I also didn't care for her outfit. Nor Renee Zellweger...

YAY for LOTR! I have noticed that at many award shows... who ever seems to win best direction seems to win best picture. Anyone else notice that?

MeLikey 01-26-2004 08:39 PM

I was esp. happy that Meryl Streep, Lord of the Rings, Sara Jessica Parker, Charlize Theron, Diane Keaton, and Tim Robbins won. I didn't like Nicole Kidman's dress, but I did like the gold headband in her hair with all her curls down. I thought Renee's dress was too short. I loved Sara Jessica Parker's and Molly Sims' dresses and hair! I think they looked the best out of everyone. Cynthia Nixon's hair extensions looked bad. And I loved the magenta dress color of Kate Blanchett and the perinwinkle dress color of Uma Thurman.

I've noticed this too. It didn't happen last year with the Oscars, though. But I think LOTR will win this year. It won best picture at the Producer's Guild awards and that's usuallly a good predictor for the Oscars. Unless the voters go for Mystic River.

I was in the other room and when i heard nicole Kidman announce best actor and heard her say tom cruise as one of the nominees.... i bolted in there and i thought t hat was kinda mean to make her do that and if he won and had to accept the award up there and have them both on camera that would be awkward for both....unless they are both friends noew as news makes them out to be
