What kind do you have?

I'm just curious...

Since we were talking about cell phone service, I was wondering what kind of cell phones are being used and what is your favorite feature of your cell phone (just ONE)?

My phone is the Nokia 3595 and my favorite feature is probably the downloadable (is that a word?) polyphonic ring tones.

2DISCRETE4U 11-14-2003 03:30 PM

I have the Sanyo 4900...from Sprint. My favorite feature used to be the speaker phone...although I don't know the last time I used it! :o But I think it's durability is it's best feature...you can drop it on concrete, down stairs, in water, etc. 50 million times and it keeps on ringing! :D Matter of fact...I dropped it this morning! Gotta love the 'break away battery'! LOL! :p

I have a Motorola i95cl and the best feature, for me, is the color screen.

Just went out and purchased this one Monday during my lunch break, Soror! I love it! I've already downloaded my school mascot (AGGIE PRIDE!), some AKA wallpaper and several ringtones. I got rid of an Ericsson T62u phone. While it was a nice phone, I've always had Nokia phones, so it took a minute to get used to the T62u - now I'm back with Nokia!

Same phone here, i GOTTA have speakerphone. love it.

I have the Sprint PCS Samsung A460. It bought it because it's a flip phone and I'd always wanted one and its silver (one of my fav colors) and its so lightweight.

The thing that I don't like is that I have to recharge so often, that I'm always dropping calls, and that when I'm talking to someone that little sucker heats up......and could burn you hand off.

But I wanted one of those phones with the color display and digital camera. They're a little too expensive for me right now.... but one day.........

AKA2D '91 11-14-2003 03:51 PM

At the moment, I have a Nokia 3360/65...I think.

HC a soror some kind of way programmed some of our hymn as her ringtone. It doesn't sound like it to me, but she thinks it does. :o

I want to be able to download my 'skee wee' wav file, when I get my new phone. :p The new phone will be a Nokia something another or the Sony something another from Cingular.

Soror, where did you (she) get the hymn and "skee-wee"? Recorded it on your computer then saved it? I want it too!

AKA2D '91 11-14-2003 04:22 PM

I don' t know how she has the 'hymn'. It's not a vocalization of the hymn, but a 'sound'.

I have the skee wee file on my home PC. I'll have to fumble upon it (not this weekend, though. In a few I'll be offline until Monday morning.)

LG

I have an LG G4010 and Cingular service. I like the look of this, and it's not as pricey as Motorola phones...

When I was with Sprint, aka the Devils Cell phone provider-lol, I had that phone. I hated the fact that it got SO hot, but I loveded that blue screen.

I now have a Nokia 3595 and I LOVE it!!! The colors, the downloadable rings. I would really like to change the screensaver though..anyone know how to do that..

I love the voice tag feature too.

Wonderful1908 11-14-2003 06:20 PM

I love my T mobile E105, I wanted a flip color phone, and this one is small and compact and cutting edge, atleast to me. I wanted a camera, but I don't know anybody to send pics to my crew can't roll like that yet:p :p

KnowledgeSeeker 11-15-2003 06:29 PM

I see only 1 motorola (the best cell phone company ever).

I have the amazing MOTOROLA T720. This phone becomes your personal phone. You can change the face plates, the the wallpaper, and the ringtones (you can also set different ring tones for different people in the phone book). That's y I got it. Plus of course I love the color display.

how did u guys post your pic of your phone? I can't seem to get it right!:(

Diva_01 11-16-2003 11:10 PM

Nokia 6800

I love the way the phone flips open to a keyboard so I can text message like I'm typing on a computer, or a laptop...

ClassyLady 11-17-2003 10:43 AM

I have a pretty little gold Samsung flip phone. It has the color screen and it is so small it can fit in even my teeny tiny club purses.

This is what it looks like when it's open

Conskeeted7 11-17-2003 07:00 PM

I have the LG 5350 from Sprint and the main features I like are internet access and color screen so that I can view my AKA wallpaper in the most beautiful PINK and GREEN !!!

Mz Destiny 11-17-2003 08:41 PM

I currently have the Nokia 3390 from T-Mobile. It's ok for a free phone. The only thing I like about it (other than the free price tag) is that I can actually hear it when it rings. I think it's a rather ugly phone though.

I want to eventually upgrade to either a Samsung E105 or the Nokia 6610. I have had a Nokia 3595, Motorola V60 and a T720 in the past year, so I am really missing my color screen and sleek looks.

SkeeWee14 11-18-2003 04:28 PM

Where are y'all finding the AKA wallpaper?

Go here . The catch is, you have to "open an account" and become a "member" and give a donation (I believe the minimum is $5.99) but with downloads averaging about $2.00 each, by the time you download 5 graphics/ringtones, you've paid for that and then some. I downloaded about 5 graphics and 4 ringtones. I promise you'll have a ball looking at the graphics. They have a lot for the NPHC!

evaclear04 11-18-2003 09:56 PM

I have my trust rusty Samsung V205. I love it for the ring tones and the camera. The battery isn't the greatest but it does what it needs to.

ShiningStar83 11-24-2003 12:57 PM

I luuh my phone!

I have a Sprint Sanyo 8100, and I love it! It has a color screen and I love being able to download free stuff.
*If you have this phone 3GForFree.com has great ringers and such.*
The only thing I wish my phone had is speakerphone. But other than that, I'm satisfied with my baby

I found some nice wallpaper at mbuzzy.com.

BirthaBlue4 11-24-2003 09:34 PM

I have the LG VX6000, its a color flip camera phone, from Verizon, and it is so like that, I LOVE it to DEATH.

http://www.verizonwireless.com/image...6000_cream.jpg

I've also had:

Nokia 3390 Gold, good phone, but I hated the antenna being on the back of the phone.

Audiovox...somethin or other, I forgot what, the only good thing was the speakerphone.

LG VX4400, color flip, VERY good phone, I love it, I only upgraded for the camera.

Soror you are AWESOME, I love this site, I now have a skeelightful wall paper and am in the process of trying to find the righ Cali music to set as my ring tone. They have so many choices, just wish they had the SU fight song!

Eastcoast Sunshine 11-26-2003 11:13 AM

I have the Sprint PCS Vision Camera Phone (Sanyo flip model in Silver). I really love that now you can have free nights starting at 7pm (for an additional charge that is), but it's worth it.

Can you bypass the $7 signup fee?

Augystskyz 11-27-2003 03:49 AM

I Just bought the new Nextel i730. I love it. I've been a Sprint customer for the last 2 years and have been used to the little silver phones with the color screens so when Netel put out this phone, I finally fit in. Plus, nextel has the new plans where you can get free incoming calls. Since 90% of the time I receive calls rather than send them out, my bills have been dramatically lowered.

Also, I recommend that anyone considering getting a nextel, ask about their specials that are offer through different places of employment. I know Taco Bell, Comcast, and Meijer's employee's receive a discount. I ended up getting my phone for $199.99 when it's regularly priced at $299.99. Accessories and monthly plans also are discounted.http://www.corporatewireless.com/images/i730_large.jpg

Government employees can also get a discount, I believe.

old as dirt

I have had my phone since 1997! It is the second phone I've ever had (my first was the Comcast Metrophone).
I have the Audiovox CDM 4000XL. It works perfectly and I have almost every possible accessory. It says Bell Atlantic Mobile on it, which later became Verizon.

It obviously doesn't have a lot of features (for example, I can recieve text messages, but can't send any). What I like most about it is that I can drop it many times (and I have), and it will still work!

But I am skeeriously in the market for a Pocket PC phone. My palm is pretty old, too. May as well replace both at once.

What is GPRS? I'm sure I could find out if I go back and read my manual, but I'm too lazy. :p

Any Treo 600 Smartphone Owners?

Hello Sorors,

I am the happy owner of the new Handspring Treo 600 Smartphone and was wondering if there are any Techies in the house? I spend a great part of my free time researching my new phone and was wondering if there are other Sorors who have taken the Treo dip on this forum?

**It's a phone, it's a PDA, it's a browser, it's a MP3 Player, it's a camera -- NO it's Treo 600!**

Check it out:

Not a problem, as you can see I'm a Newbie. I did not see a section for phone threads.

Could you hook a sistah up and point me in that direction as I could not find it.

Thanks.

AKA2D '91 12-17-2003 03:49 PM

I entered "cell phones" in the search option.

:)

AKA2D '91 12-17-2003 03:53 PM

Also, it has been brought to my attention that you haven't introduced yourself. :o

Please stop by the "New Soror to GC/New Soror..." thread and post your info. Orrrrrrrrr, you can place your information in your signature. :D
