yep going to cheer on the Vols in Atlanta against Clemson in the peach bowl

Kevin 12-16-2003 09:20 AM

I'm going on a road trip down to New Orleans for the Sugar Bowl. I'll probably have no chance at getting tickets but will watch at some bar or my hotel room.

Hopefully, I'll be able to participate in the OU victory party afterwards:D

Boomer Sooner!

Tom Earp 12-16-2003 10:16 AM

ARE YOU READY???!!! I am so excited to have my alma mater come to my town!! Thanks to another wonderful GCer, I should have game tickets are on the way :-) Hotty, do you have the info about the big tailgate party at the Cotton Bowl & the New Year's Eve bash? The DFW Ole Miss alums are doing us proud! We're going to kick OSU's butt back across the state line.

AlphaPhiBubbles 12-16-2003 02:25 PM

Chico State doesn't have a football team

IluvSirFidel 12-16-2003 03:57 PM

Well, since I go to Miss State, and we SUCK...I'm not going to be attending a Bulldog bowl game this year. However, my parents and I are going to see Purdue play Georgia in Orlando!! (My mom is Purdue alum!!!) Yea for college football!!!

Oh please do:D

Ya'll shouldn't have a problem. They have a decent running game. QB throws lame ducks, receiver had his best year last year.

Their defense is pretty bad. Eli (Sigma Nu athlete of the year last year) will light 'em up.

IvySpice 12-16-2003 05:35 PM

My alma mater does have football, but for some reason, despite a couple of very strong seasons, nobody selected any Ivy League teams for Bowl games. ;) Oh well. Maybe we'll make it to the Final Four in chess. :D

Unregistered- 12-16-2003 05:58 PM

I'll be at Aloha Stadium on Christmas Day watching my beloved Timmy, er, WARRIORS take on Kevlar281's University of Houston Cougars for the Hawaii Bowl. :)

Hell Yeah!! Damn Right!!! I don't even have tickets yet...I made the mistake of booking a flight and a gotel before getting tickets...then I found out they were sold out. Know anyone who has extras they might be willing to sell??

BTW Have you heard that song they've been playing around oxford?? It's to the tune of that song "Stacy's Mom" only they changed it to "Archie's son"...it's pretty terrible but kinda funny.

I heard that everyone is going to some party at the hyatt???? I dunno though I'm sure I'll be all over the place in that town. I've never been to Texas. That state won't know what hit em once all the rebels come rollin in.

I'm going down to the Capitol One Bowl, also. I'll be on the other side, though ;)

Goooo Dawgs! :)

nhpgator 12-16-2003 07:27 PM

i'll be wearing a brighter shade of orange and some blue, rolling out of bed and heading down the street to watch the gators take on iowa (one of my husbands alma maters) in the outback bowl at 11:30 am - ugh it comes soooo early on new years -

UT SAE21 12-16-2003 07:29 PM

haha good luck browneyedgrl it will be a good game :)

efcheerBB 12-16-2003 07:30 PM

Nope, I will be watching up here with the rest of the State fans, either at BDubs or the big screen in my dorm with the rest of the maintenance workers living here over break. It's up in the air right now where I will be watching it. GO GREEN! GO WHITE!

The_Nash 12-16-2003 07:32 PM

ASU

ASU's football team had a shitty season, so no bowl game for us. I want to go see the real number one team USC play at the Rose Bowl but I doubt I'll be able to get tickets

astroAPhi 12-16-2003 07:44 PM

Argh! We leave San Antonio THE DAY OF the Alamo Bowl. I have never been anywhere near a Nebraska bowl game, and now that I am I have to leave that day! Grrr!

DeltAlum 12-16-2003 07:52 PM

I went to every bowl game that Colorado participated in from about 1984 to 1994. (As well as five Super Bowls).

Some of them are really great -- and some pretty dull.

At least party-wise.

deadbear80 12-16-2003 09:10 PM

I'll be in sunny Pasadena for the ROSE BOWL! GO BLUE! Although I didn't go to Michigan, my Mom, Dad, and one of my older brothers did. My nephew is coming along with us (he just got his acceptance yesterday!)--so he'll get to enjoy some great football.
My alma mater is a DIII school, so we never had any bowl games to look forward to. So I just cheer on the Michigan Wolverines and live vicariously through the rest of my family.

AXWhoah 12-16-2003 09:33 PM

In honor of that last post....I have to give a shout out to the Pac-10 champ in the Rose Bowl this year......GO TROJANS! Sadly my own school had its worst ever season this year so there will be no bowl games for me, however it is the beginning of basketball season and like a sportscaster said last year "Arizona basketball doesn't rebuild, they reload!" So here's looking forward to March Madness!

hoosier 12-16-2003 11:59 PM

Once again

For about the 50th straight season, I'll be donning my Cream and Crimson, and joining the Hoosiers at the Toilet Bowl.

Tippiechick 12-17-2003 12:09 AM

Oh Hotty Toddy,

Have fun for me... The husband has to work. So, it's a no-go on travelling to Texas... Will be cheering from the comfort of home:)

AlphaPhiBubbles 12-17-2003 12:13 AM

Poor IU football team...although I was recently at the IU/Butler basketball game which was fun cuz IU won...but one of the most boring basketball games I've watched and I was disappointed because I expected so much more from those Hoosiers.

aopirose 12-17-2003 12:29 AM

Me, Me, Me!!!! As the strains of The Archies play in the background, "Sugar, ah honey honey, you are my candy girl and you've got me wanting you."

It's all about the SUGAR BABY!!!! We got our tickets last week and I am hella excited. I have only missed 3 LSU home games since 1987 and I have been to 4 bowl games, including the Sugar Bowl 2002. We would have gone to the Cotton Bowl last year but we my uncle didn't give us the tickets until the night before.

GEAUX TIGERS!!!!!

kstar 12-17-2003 01:04 AM

I got tickets... Sugar Bowl, gonna watch my #1 Sooners (the BCS is the _ONLY_ poll that matters!) totally come back and kick some Cajun @$$...

I however missed my Michigan State tickets...

But I was offered tickets to watch Michigan KILL #3 Southern Cal... Still debating that, I don't like to root for Michigan...

Jason White= over rated

Larry Fitzgerald should have won the Heisman

I'd like to see Fitzgerald come back from TWO major knee surgeries to have only 6 interceptions in a season.

White had the better stats...

He deserved it.

You could argue that one of White's *receivers*, Mark Clayton had a better year than Fitzgerald. Fitz was the only receiver on his team worth a crap. OU is full of 'em. That means, if a receiver is going to stand out, it'll be because of yards after the catch.

Mr. Clayton is definitely the best YAC wide receiver in the college game. He makes some circus catches as well.

Clayton didn't have a game where he had 3 catches for 26 yards either. Nor did his team lose 3-4 games.

If anyone was overrated and overhyped this year, it was Fitzgerald.

I mean, if you want to talk about the best receiver in the country with pro potential, fine. We'll talk about Mike Williams at USC.

I actually disagree with both of those..... I think Eli Manning deserved it. I knew he wouldn't get it...but he is definitely the MVP in the country. You put Eli on Oklahoma's football team and you would still be going to the Sugar Bowl...You put Jason White on Ole Miss's team...Do you think we'd still have the same record...I don't think we would. Larry Fitzgerald is a top notch player, but he still has a few good years to win the heisman.

Eli will be the #1 draft pick.

mullet81 12-17-2003 07:38 PM

oh man, i wish my team was good enough to be going to a bowl game... too bad i'm going to vegas instead :)

Even though my team isn't playing in it, I'm going to the Las Vegas Bowl to watch New Mexico and Oregon State because I got free tickets.

Txsurfinwaves 12-18-2003 10:57 AM

mu_agd 12-18-2003 11:00 AM

OH NO :'-( 4 Univ. of North Texas students coming home from that game were killed yesterday, when they swerved head on into oncoming traffic. So awfully tragic and sad.

Txsurfinwaves, you doing OK?

Yes, im fine. I didnt know any of the students, but it is VERY sad
and upsetting :( ,and the university is doing everything in its power to help students once we get back from break..since they cant do much right now, since everyone is home.
